Deputy Chairman, State Planning Board Launched Eye Screening Camp For Villagers Of Nodekoppalu In Mandya District


* Essilor Vision Foundation India and FICCI FLO partnership program as part of Village Adoption and Empowerment Project “HOSA LOKA”

As part of this joint initiative FICCI FLO and Essilor Vision Foundation Joined Hands to provide free eye screening and spectacles to villagers. Around 800 villagers will benefit from this initiative.

In alignment with FLO National objectives and under the leadership of FLO Bangalore Chapter Chairperson Mrs. Jyotika Kapoor, FLO Bangalore has kicked off the Village Adoption and Empowerment Project, aptly named “Hosa Loka”. It means “New World” in Kannada.  Through this projects FLO Bangalore chapter will work closely with 2 villages in Karnataka to bring significant impact through Economic improvement, Skilling and Education. We will enable community building, self-reliance through the Power of the Collective and in collaboration with committed organizations and individuals. 

Good eye sight is very important for overall social economic development of the society. This kind of initiatives for villagers is highly appreciated.  Farmers, artisans, home makers and children living in this village will get opportunity to get the eye tested and get needful correction at no cost, said                    Mr B J Puttaswamy, Deputy Chairman, State Planning Board, Government of Karnataka.

FICCI (Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) Ladies organization (FLO) is a Pan India entity under the umbrella of FICCI.  Across India, presently FLO has 17 Chapters with over 8000 women as members who are professionals, entrepreneurs or in leadership roles in businesses across sectors.
