Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Sells 4,80,896 Units In April 2025


Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India announced its sales numbers for the month of April 2025.

The company’s total sales for April’25 stood at 4,80,896 units. This includes domestic sales of 4,22,931 units and 57,965 units exports.

HMSI’s Key Highlights of April 2025:

Product: HMSI introduced the updated OBD2B compliant versions of the Dio 125 with advanced new features. Moreover, the company’s premium motorcycle portfolio has been further strengthened with the launch of the 2025 CB350, CB350 H’ness, and CB350RS, featuring vibrant new colours. Aligned with the global market action, HMSI also announced a voluntary recall for its CB300R motorcycle for certain units manufactured between 2018 to 2020.

Road Safety: Expanding road safety awareness in India, HMSI promoted campaigns in 12 locations across India –Navsari (Gujarat), Yol Cantt. Samsung To Launch 2025 Line-Up Of Vision AI Television On May 7


Samsung, India's largest consumer electronics brand, will launch its 2025 range of premium televisions with Vision AI on May 7.

Samsung will showcase its top-of-the-line premium televisions, including the Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, OLED and QLED, the company said. Samsung is likely to launch more than 10 models of premium televisions across multiple sizes.

The new premium Samsung televisions will come with Vision AI, which will change the way consumers interact with televisions. By incorporating on-device AI capabilities, Vision AI enables televisions to become aware of their surroundings, adapt to user preferences, and act autonomously to enhance the viewing experience.

Samsung has been the global leader in the television market for 19 consecutive years, according to market research firm Omdia. This continued success is driven by the company’s commitment to premium and ultra-large screen innovation, as well as the introduction of cutting-edge, AI-powered TVs.

The brightest creative and tech visionaries have converged in Mumbai, India's creative heartbeat, for the landmark launch of the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES). Among the 20 winners, highlighting India’s rich cultural heritage, Brahman Studios unveiled “AUM-The Game,” an immersive philosophical adventure and a unique Karma system. Hyderabad’s 5th Ocean Studios captivated audiences with "Ilavath: Battle Arenas," an innovative strategy game deeply rooted in the eternal war between Devas and Asuras. Manipal Group Of Institutions Honor Visionary Founder Dr T.M.A Pai On 127th Birth Anniversary


Manipal Group of Institutions celebrated the 127th birth anniversary of its founder Dr TMA Pai in solemn and respectful ceremony held at Manipal on Wednesday, 30 April 2025.  Paying rich tributes to the remarkable legacy of Dr TMA Pai on the occasion as the Chief Guest, Hon'ble Justice Shri S Abdul Nazeer, His Excellency the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, described him as a ‘legendary visionary’ whose pioneering efforts in education and healthcare have transformed lives and continue to inspire generations.

He remembered Dr. Pai as a multi-faceted personality, an educationist, banker, philanthropist, and a true nation builder. “Dr. Pai believed that poverty could be eradicated by eliminating illiteracy and ill health. Dr. Pai is a true Karma Yogi. He viewed educated children not just as assets to their families, but as the pillars of a progressive nation,” he added.

On a heartfelt personal note, the Governor also shared his connection to Dr. Pai’s legacy. “I am a proud alumnus of Mahaveera College at Moodbidri, an institution founded by Dr. T.M.A. Pai.  His vision shaped my educational journey and career,” he said.

Meta has announced the recipients of the 2024 Llama Impact Grants, recognizing innovators using open-source large language models to tackle critical social challenges. Among this year’s global winners is CognitiveLab, an India-based research lab whose project Nayana is revolutionizing AI accessibility for linguistically diverse communities. The Llama Impact Grant will help scale Nayana’s multilingual, multimodal capabilities, expanding access to AI across more than 22 languages and reaching over three billion people worldwide.

Launched in 2023, the Llama Impact Grants support transformative uses of Meta’s open-source models: Llama 2, Llama 3, and now Llama 4, that demonstrate measurable social impact.

Headquartered in Bangalore, CognitiveLab is a mission-driven, open-source-first AI research lab focused on developing state-of-the-art technologies that are accessible, transparent, and community-powered. Consolidated revenue from operations grew 4% YoY to Rs. 3,042 Cr. in Q4, bringing FY25 revenue to Rs. 10,357 Cr. The Company also reported its highest-ever quarterly consolidated EBITDA of Rs. 556 Cr. in Q4 FY25, with full-year EBITDA at Rs. 1,391 Cr. FY25 marked a year of resilience and recovery for the cement industry, with demand picking up steadily after a muted first half. Nuvoco capitalized on this rebound with targeted initiatives that delivered volume growth, especially in the second half. Cement demand remained robust across two consecutive quarters, supported by increased Central and State Government Capex in infrastructure and housing. Throughout the year, the Company maintained a sharp focus on operational excellence. This is reflected in achieving the lowest blended fuel cost in the last 14 quarters at Rs. 1.43 per Mcal, reinforcing Nuvoco’s position amongst the industry's lowest in power and fuel costs.

The Company undertook key marketing initiatives to enhance its brand presence. These included the ‘Sarthi Programme at Maha Kumbh 2025’, which provided an immersive experience to over 25,000 visitors, reinforcing the company’s commitment to its channel partners and influencers. The Company continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability with lowest carbon emissions in the industry, with 457 kg CO2 per ton1 of cementitious materials.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Sells 27,324 Units In The Month Of April 2025


Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) recorded a growth of 33% in April 2025 over the same period last year, selling 27,324 units. In April 2025, domestic sales stood at 24,833 units, while exports contributed 2,491 units. In April 2024, TKM had sold 20,494 units.

The growth momentum was sustained despite a maintenance shutdown from April 21-25, 2025, undertaken for the upkeep of machinery and equipment to maintain operational efficiency, productivity, and safety.

The company closed the last fiscal year with its highest-ever sales in India, reaffirming growing customer trust and the market’s preference for quality, reliability, and robust after-sales support.

A recent global study, commissioned by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), surveyed kids aged between 5–12 , revealing that 93% of Indian children want to participate in activities that help them make new friends. Among the top highlights of the research, was the insight that Indian kids are looking to explore different cultures beyond their own borders, making cultural curiosity the new thing among the younger generation.

According to the study, an astounding figure of more than three in four Indian kids want to visit a museum on holiday. Today’s generation of Indian children are also more inclined towards visiting food markets, exploring diverse cultures, and other similar factors. The results reveal:

Food plays a significant role in driving young Indian travellers with over 90% of kids wanting to visit food markets, an opportunity to learn more about different cultures.

As many as 96% want to visit water parks and play water sports, with these activities making holidays more adventurous and amusing.

The trend continues with as many as 80% keen to visit grand places and 80% having interest in seeing how people live, as well as things to do like experiencing climbing lessons (79%) on holidays.

A First in India: Free Palliative Care on a Lush Green Campus

The MHRC, located just outside Manipal on a lush 12-acre campus by the Swarna River, with 78% green zone prioritizing calm, and open environment that promotes well-being, is designed to offer compassionate care for patients facing serious and life-limiting illnesses.  The facility will begin operations in June 2025 and will provide a full range of palliative and respite care services, completely free of charge.   This 100-beded facility is the only hospice in India attached to both a medical college and tertiary care hospital, that caters to both cancer and non-cancer conditions.  MHRC will provide innovative care models while training the next generation of palliative care specialists. The patient-centered approach will be further enhanced through innovative telehealth programs, ensuring accessible care for all who need it regardless of location.

MHRC combines both hospice (end-of-life) and respite (short-term relief) services under one roof, offering comprehensive pain and symptom management, wound and stoma care, nursing and rehabilitation services. A multidisciplinary team including doctors, nurses, counsellors, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, and volunteers will provide holistic care that addresses physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs. MHRC emphasizes dignity therapy, legacy work, rehabilitation, and family empowerment, along with medical care.  It also integrates education and bereavement support, ensuring patients and their families are prepared and supported through every stage of serious illness and loss.
