Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri DK Shivakumar, Government of Karnataka, said, "Karnataka has established itself as one of Asia's foremost hubs for technology, research and innovation, making it a natural destination for globally recognised institutions such as UNSW. We welcome this partnership and the opportunities it will create for our students, researchers and industry through world-class education, collaborative research and innovation. We look forward to seeing UNSW contribute to Karnataka's vision of building a globally competitive knowledge and innovation ecosystem."

The Bengaluru campus will initially focus on areas aligned with the NEP 2020, skills and future workforce demand while addressing global research priorities – including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital technologies, advanced manufacturing and sustainability. Students will benefit from an education model that combines academic rigour with industry engagement, preparing them for strong graduate outcomes.

Beyond academics, the campus is expected to serve as a platform for deeper collaboration between Australia and India across research, innovation and enterprise. By bringing together universities, government and industry, UNSW aims to accelerate knowledge exchange and contribute to solutions that address shared economic and societal priorities.

The launch also advances UNSW's Progress for All strategy, which seeks to expand the University's global impact through education, research and partnerships that deliver tangible benefits for communities. As India continues to strengthen its position as a global knowledge and innovation hub, the Bengaluru campus represents an investment in the next generation of talent and in a partnership that will shape the future of both nations.

IBM And Sarvam Collaborate To Advance Full Stack AI Sovereignty

* For AI Sovereignty For Government And Regulated Enterprises Across India
* IBM Sovereign Core and Sarvam's India stack to help organizations operationalize sovereign AI aligned with India's governance and sovereignty requirement

IBM (NYSE: IBM) and Sarvam, India's full-stack sovereign AI company, today announced a collaboration to advance the development and adoption of sovereign AI technologies in India. Through the collaboration, IBM and Sarvam will work together to demonstrate and pilot technologies and solutions targeting industry use cases relevant for central and state governments, public sector organisations, and regulated enterprises across India.

This initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of trusted, governed, and sovereign AI capabilities across industry and public sector ecosystems through innovation pilots, solution accelerators, technical advisory, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. It brings together IBM Sovereign Core, IBM's AI-ready sovereign-by-design software that enables full control over data, operations and governance, with Sarvam's Sovereign AI stack, which includes reasoning models and India-first language and voice AI trained from scratch in India. The combined offering is purpose-built for the public sector and regulated enterprises aligned with the country’s regulatory, security, and operational requirements.

Together, IBM and Sarvam will power use cases like citizen services, grievance redressal, document processing, and administrative workflows on full stack sovereign AI. This ensures accelerated delivery of secure, multilingual, and voice-enabled Government-to-citizen services at scale.

The IBM GovTech AI Innovation Center in Lucknow will serve as a joint incubation and demonstration hub, where government departments, public sector organisations, enterprises and industry stakeholders can work through the technical, operational, and governance requirements of moving AI from pilots into production and explore practical applications of sovereign AI.

Sriram Raghavan, General Manager, IBM Software, India and Software Innovation Lab said, "Sovereign AI is not simply about where AI runs. It is about giving organizations control over how AI is governed, deployed, and operated. IBM Sovereign Core provides an open, enterprise-grade platform and middleware foundation designed to help governments and regulated enterprises scale AI within environments they trust while addressing governance, security, and compliance requirements. By combining these capabilities with Sarvam's India-first AI technologies, we aim to help organizations operationalize sovereign AI and accelerate the journey from experimentation to production-scale outcomes."

“Sovereign AI has to run inside the systems governments and enterprises already depend on, and at the scale at which those systems operate,” said Pratyush Kumar, Co-Founder of Sarvam. "IBM's Sovereign Core gives governments an AI-ready technology foundation they control. Our stack puts models, voice, and language technologies on top of it, so a citizen can access a benefit or resolve a grievance in their own language, on a phone call."

Biopeak Is India's Next Gen Health Platform For Peak Performance

By Manu Sharma

* Biopeak is India's first specialised brand aimed at extending lifespans through preventive care.

Biopeak has expanded its footprint by opening a new flagship wellness and longevity center on 100 Feet Road at Indiranagar, Bengaluru. The 15,000-square-foot facility builds on their AI-driven, precision health model focused on proactive and personalized preventive healthcare.

Located on the 100 Feet Road, HAL 2nd Stage, Indiranagar, Bengaluru, the new centre is built on a 15,000 square feet building of 5 floors. And its focus is on AI-driven precision health, longevity, and biomarker tracking.

Speaking at a press conference in Bengaluru, Rishi Pardal, Founder and CEO of Biopeak says, “I spent most of my working life in the corporate world, including serving as managing director of United Breweries. I had an illness in 2022 that led conventional medicine to recommend gallbladder-removal surgery after no clear answer was found.

He goes on to say that earlier guidance from Shiva had identified that he ran extensively but did so on an empty stomach, based on a metabolic test. Shiva helped me pursue a non-surgical health approach; three years later, I reported maintaining a healthy and active life.

Biopeak was formed from the belief that preventive and personalized biology-based care can protect health and improve long-term quality of life. It describes itself as a predictive, preventive, personalized healthcare service that encourages people to test and assess their health before major problems emerge.

A multidisciplinary team of doctors, systems biologists, nutritionists, physiotherapists, and health coaches creates protocols based on each person’s needs and priorities. “We have personalized protocols that address health from cellular mechanisms through organs, organ systems, and the whole person,” he says.

The Bengaluru-based startup is India’s first full-stack precision health platform, having launched its first longevity clinic with a mission to transform the way healthcare is experienced; shifting the focus from treating illness to optimising everyday health and performance.

At Biopeak, longevity is defined not by the number of years lived, but by the quality of those years. The clinic is built on the principle of ‘Unlock Limitless Living’, removing barriers that prevent individuals from performing, thriving, and enjoying life to the fullest, says Shiva Subramanian, co-founder of Biopeak.

Biopeak evaluates health across multiple biological levels, moving from cells to tissues, organs, organ systems, and the complete organism. Testing may include genomics, the gut microbiome, metabolomics, and blood analysis. “The approach combines an “Omix” component for cellular-level information with imaging to assess how cellular changes relate to organs and potential problems, environmental factors and the person’s broader interactions are considered alongside internal biology, remarks Shiva adding that root-cause analysis is used to identify advantages to strengthen and disadvantages to solve or manage the problem.

The model is presented as a continuing health journey rather than a one-time diagnostic event.

Highlights

Data, Nutritional Biochemistry, and Integrated Interventions

Biopeak’s specialty is described as data-driven care grounded in nutritional biochemistry. Clinical-grade data is used to select interventions based on the individual rather than on a single ideology or health system. Potential tools include pharmacology, food, exercise, medication, and nutraceuticals and the goal is to combine these tools in a precise, personalized way to influence health outcomes.

How Is Biopeak Different From Conventional Healthcare Centres?

The company compares its role to a wealth manager, treating health as a person’s “only true wealth” and managing changing requirements over time.

Unlike a conventional doctor’s appointment, Biopeak’s longevity clinic offers an in-depth, hours-long evaluation of an individual’s health. Programs begin with advanced assessments, including 130+ biomarker blood panels, DEXA scans, VO₂ max testing, genetic and epigenetic profiling, gut and oral microbiome mapping, and hormonal analysis.

Biopeak’s Three Phase Network: Detect, Optimise, Regenerate

The clinic’s methodology follows a three-phase framework – Detect, Optimise, Regenerate – designed to function as a continuous cycle rather than an episodic consultation.

Detect: Detection draws on multi-omics diagnostics, advanced imaging and neurocognitive assessment, generating over 60 gigabytes of data per individual. That data is interpreted through AI systems combining symbolic reasoning and machine learning – translating genetics, metabolomics, imaging and lifestyle inputs into a single, connected biological map.

“Data by itself can get overwhelming,” says Shiva adding that “the breakthrough lies in integrating genetics, metabolites, imaging and environment into one biological map – and then acting on it.”

Optimise: The Optimise phase translates biological insight into daily change: genetics-informed nutrition, circadian-aligned recovery, stress physiology and exercise programming – each calibrated to individual biochemistry.

Regenerate: Regenerate is concerned with building reserves for the decades ahead. This encompasses mitochondrial conditioning, gut recalibration, lymphatic support and nervous system reset protocols.

Science Partnerships And Advisory Board

Biopeak’s partnership with Dr Deepak Kumar Saini, Professor, Department of Developmental Biology and Genetics (and Bioengineering) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru.where it is recognised as a Longevity Luminary partner, is advancing work on biological and RNA-based ageing clocks grounded in Indian datasets.

About Founders

While Rishi Pardal is a seasoned business leader with over 25 years of experience leading global teams at companies like United Breweries, Avery Dennison, and Hindustan Unilever, Shiva Subramanian is the Co-Founder and CTO of Biopeak. Shiva Subramanian attended University of Nottingham, UK.

Funding Partners

Biopeak is backed by marquee investors including Nikhil Kamath (NKSquared, Zerodha), Dr Ranjan Pai (Claypond Capital), and Prashanth Prakash (Accel). Its programmes are shaped by a multidisciplinary advisory board of Indian and global experts, including Dr Satchidananda Panda (circadian biology, Salk Institute), Dr Harald Stossier (Modern Mayr Medicine pioneer), and Irina Sharma (LiveWell).

Biopeak Clinics And Expansion Plans

Biopeak currently operates two clinics in Bengaluru. The first one at Miller's Road in Vasanthnagar and the newest clinic was recently launched at the 100 feet road in Indiranagar. On expansion plans, the team is planning similar centres at Mumbai, Delhi, and potentially smaller cities where the founders believe demand exists.

Positive Outcomes

The founders reported that hundreds of people have completed the program and undergone retesting to evaluate positive outcomes.

* Reported areas of support include:

* Early identification of certain diseases

* Helping people avoid surgeries

* Improving athletic performance

* Supporting people in climbing mountains

Summary

The preventive philosophy is summarized through the proverb “A Stitch In Time Saves Nine,” emphasizing early intervention to reduce the risk of serious disease later in life.

Prospective clients can visit biopeak.com or contact the helpline, provide personal details and priorities, complete testing and an assessment, and receive a tailored protocol.

Even Hospitals Launch ₹299 Fever & Dengue Package And 24/7 Dengue Hotline

* Initiative includes a 24/7 Dengue Hotline to encourage early diagnosis during the monsoon season

Even Hospitals, Bengaluru's managed care hospital network, is marking one year of operations in the city with an initiative aimed at one of the most pressing seasonal health concerns, the monsoon fever surge. As a part of the hospital’s first year anniversary celebrations, Even Hospitals launched a ₹299 Fever & Dengue Screening Package starting July 13. Patients can also use Even Hospitals 24/7 Dengue Hotline at 9187213889 that provides round-the-clock medical guidance for anyone experiencing fever or dengue-like symptoms. The hotline will connect callers with qualified doctors who can advise on symptoms, next steps, and whether testing or immediate medical attention is required.

The timing is intentional. Bengaluru has reported a steady rise in dengue and monsoon-related fever cases in recent weeks, with health authorities urging residents to seek early diagnosis rather than wait out symptoms at home. Even Hospitals' anniversary initiative is a direct response, making early screening simple, affordable, and accessible at a time when the city needs it most.
Why Early Testing Cannot Wait

Dengue, malaria, and viral fever share nearly identical early symptoms. A persistent fever, body ache, headache, chills, or fatigue may look the same on day one, but require very different treatments, and respond very differently to delay.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr Chandrika Kambam, Group Medical Director at Balloon Healthcare Private Limited said, “One of the biggest reasons patients experience complications from dengue and other viral illnesses is delayed diagnosis. As we celebrate our first year of caring for Bengaluru, we wanted to give back by making fever screening simple, affordable and accessible. Early intervention can make a significant difference to patient outcomes."
₹299 Fever & Dengue Screening Package

From July 13 onwards, Even Hospitals will offer a comprehensive fever screening package at just ₹299, covering a full diagnostic workup and expert consultation with an internal medicine specialist in a single visit.

The package includes:

● Free Internal Medicine Specialist Consultation

● Complete Blood Count (CBC)

● Dengue Panel - NS1 Antigen, IgG & IgM

● Malaria Parasite Test (MPQB)

● Liver Function Test (LFT)

Even Hospitals are not a conventional hospital network. Built around a managed care model, Even focuses on prevention, early intervention, and coordinated care, not just treatment at the point of crisis.

In its first year, Even Hospitals has:

● Supported more than 40,000 members across Bengaluru

● Delivered over 1.37 lakh specialist consultations

● Managed care across preventive, outpatient, and inpatient pathways, all under one roof

Complementing this approach, Even also offers its ₹999 Care Package, an annual subscription that provides unlimited 24/7 online doctor consultations, access to general physicians, specialists and nutritionists, and unlimited tele-consultations through the Even App across India, making expert medical guidance easily accessible whenever it's needed.

The managed care model brings together general physicians, super-specialists, diagnostics, imaging, and lab services in a single connected system, so patients spend less time navigating the healthcare system and more time focusing on their health. From a routine check-up to complex specialist care, every patient's journey is coordinated by one team that knows their history.

The ₹299 fever screening initiative reflects that same philosophy to meet patients early, before a manageable illness becomes a medical emergency, and make the barrier to walking in as low as possible.

Borrowed Cue To National Heyball Silver: The Remarkable Story Of 13 Year Old Mustafa Ahmed

At just 13 years old, Md Mustafa Ahmed has emerged as one of India's brightest young cue sports talents. A multiple Karnataka Junior Champion in Billiards and Snooker and currently ranked India No. 5 in Junior Snooker, Mustafa recently won the National Silver Medal at the Junior National Heyball Championship, despite competing in his first major Heyball event with a borrowed cue.

Mustafa's journey took a significant turn in May 2026 when his father brought him to the Heyball Academy, Bengaluru to train under Coach Pranit Ramchandani. Since then, Mustafa has been undergoing structured coaching in Snooker and Heyball, with Coach Pranit refining his cue action, stance, alignment, fundamentals, shot selection, positional play, tactical awareness and overall understanding of cue sports.

Determined to bring world class cue sports coaching to India, Coach Pranit Ramchandani travelled extensively to the United Kingdom and Belgium, learning directly under internationally renowned coach Chris Henry. After completing the Chris Henry Level 1 Coach Certification in the United Kingdom and the advanced Level 2 Coach Certification in Belgium, Pranit partnered with Chris Henry to launch India's first Chris Henry Coach Certification Program and India's first Chris Henry Player Intensive Training Program at the Heyball Academy, Bengaluru.

Recognising Mustafa's rapid progress across multiple cue sports, Coach Pranit selected him for the Chris Henry Player Intensive Training Program, where he trained directly under Chris Henry while continuing his long term development in Snooker, Heyball and overall cue sports under Coach Pranit.

The Junior National Heyball Championship was held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, bringing together many of India's finest young Heyball players from across the country. The championship concluded providing a national platform for the next generation of cue sports athletes to compete at the highest level.

Mustafa travelled to the Junior National Heyball Championship having trained in Heyball for only a handful of sessions under Coach Pranit, who introduced Heyball to India in 2024 by organizing the inaugural World Junior Heyball Championship in Bengaluru under the World Pool Association and who represented India by winning a Bronze Medal at the WCBS World Team Championship.

With limited experience in the discipline and without owning a Heyball cue, Mustafa borrowed one from a friend and entered the tournament hoping to gain valuable competitive experience.

Instead, he produced one of the championship's standout performances, defeating several experienced opponents to reach the final of the Junior National Heyball Championship.

In the final, Mustafa once again showcased exceptional cueing, tactical awareness and remarkable fighting spirit. In a high quality and closely contested match, he matched his talented peer from Maharashtra throughout before narrowly missing out on the title. His outstanding performance earned him the National Silver Medal in his very first major Heyball tournament and announced the arrival of one of India's most exciting young cue sports prospects.

Mustafa's journey has also been supported by his father, Sajjad Ahmed, who owns multiple snooker clubs across Bengaluru. Since introducing Mustafa to cue sports at the age of 10, Sajjad has provided him with countless hours of practice and competitive experience while his structured technical development continues under Coach Pranit at the Heyball Academy.

Coach Pranit Ramchandani said: "From our very first session, I could see Mustafa possessed exceptional talent and an incredible willingness to learn. Watching him progress from refining his fundamentals to winning the National Silver Medal with a borrowed cue has been incredibly rewarding. I believe he has all the qualities required to become one of India's finest cue sports players."

As Mustafa continues his journey, the goal is to develop into a complete multi discipline cue sports athlete, capable of competing for National, Asian and World Championship titles in Snooker, Heyball and other cue sports disciplines. Under the guidance of Coach Pranit Ramchandani, he continues to receive structured coaching in Snooker and Heyball, building the technical, tactical and mental foundations required to succeed at the highest level across multiple cue sports.

From first walking into the Heyball Academy in search of better coaching to standing on the National podium with a borrowed cue, Md Mustafa Ahmed's story is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through talent, family support, world class coaching and relentless dedication. At just 13 years old, his journey is only just beginning.

Candere and Hurun India launch the 2026 Women Leaders List

Candere by Kalyan Jewellers and Hurun India today unveiled the 2026 Candere Hurun India Women Leaders List, recognising 117 outstanding women in the following 12 categories:

• Indian Fashion & Lifestyle

• Social Change Makers

• Heartland Founders

• New Economy

• Veterans

• Olympic and Paralympic Medallists

• Authors

• Social Media Influencers

• Independent Journalists

• Startup Founders

• Wealth Multipliers

• Professional CEOs

This list is part of a broader effort to highlight women who are shaping India’s future through excellence in leadership, innovation, and social impact.

Mr Sanjay Raghuraman, Managing Director, Candere, said, "When we partnered with Hurun India to launch the Candere-Hurun India Women Leaders List last year, our goal was to establish an annual recognition celebrating women whose leadership, achievements and influence shape India in meaningful ways. We are delighted to present this second edition, recognising another remarkable group of leaders whose contributions continue to set new benchmarks across diverse fields. Together with Hurun India, we hope this recognition continues to grow in stature - bringing impactful stories to the forefront and honouring exceptional women whose achievements shape India today, while creating an enduring record of leadership for generations to come."

Anas Rahman Junaid, Founder and Chief Researcher, Hurun India, said,

"What defines this year's list is not just its size, but its reach. Across 117 honourees and 12 categories, the 2026 edition spans seven decades of achievement, from 19-year-old para-archer Sheetal Devi to 86-year-old entrepreneur Rajni Bector and stretches well beyond the boardroom to include Olympic and Paralympic medallists, authors, independent journalists, and social change makers. Of these women, 98 are self-made, outnumbering inheritors by more than five to one, a ratio that tells us leadership in India is increasingly earned rather than handed down.”

“That breadth is the point. For too long, lists like this one have measured women's success through a narrow lens: corporate valuation, family legacy, a handful of familiar cities. This year, we deliberately widened that lens, because influence in India today is just as likely to be built on a shooting range or in a newsroom as in a company headquarters. When a para-shooter with three medals and a chief executive running a company valued at over INR 5 lakh crore appear on the same list, we're no longer asking women to fit one definition of leadership; we're recognising the many forms it genuinely takes.”

“For Candere and Hurun India, this is a direction, not a destination. As India's economy and society continue to diversify, our focus going forward is to keep reaching further into the quieter fields, emerging regions, and overlooked forms of achievement where the next generation of women leaders is already at work, waiting to be recognised.", concluded Anas Rahman Junaid.
