Bank Of Baoda Announces Financial Results For Q3 FY2022

Key Highlights 

The domestic CASA of the Bank marked a growth of 12.86% on a YoY basis.  

Operating profit for the quarter grew by 7.85% on a YoY basis.  

Net profit of the Bank doubled for the quarter and stands at INR 2,197 crore in Q3FY22 against INR 1,061 crore in Q3FY21. Net profit increased to INR 5,494 crore in 9MFY22 from INR 1,875 crore in 9MFY21. 

Gross NPA ratio of the Bank significantly improved to 7.25% in Dec’21 from 8.48% in Dec’20. 

Global Net Interest Margin (NIM) increased to 3.13% in Dec’21 from 2.77% in Dec’20. 

Global Advances of the Bank increased by 5.17% sequentially to INR 7,71,994 crore. 

Domestic Advances of the Bank increased to INR 6,54,315 crore, up by 4.96% on a QoQ basis, YoY growth stands at 3.36%.  

Business Performance 

Global Deposits increased by 2.46% to INR 9,78,034 crore on a YoY basis. Domestic Deposits increased by 5% to INR 8,76,555 crore in Dec’21. 

Domestic Current Account Deposits stands at INR 65,260 crore, registering a robust growth of 15.41% on a YoY basis.  

Domestic Savings Bank Deposits grew by 12.36% to INR 3,22,909 crore. Overall Domestic CASA registered a growth of 12.86% on a YoY basis. 

Organic Retail loan portfolio of the Bank grew by 11.13% led by growth in Personal loan portfolio by 46.39%, Auto loan by 20.54% and Education loan by 13.86% on a YoY basis. 

Agriculture loan portfolio reached to INR 1,05,694 crore, marked a YoY growth of 9.58% 

Organic MSME portfolio increased to INR 92,668 crore grew by 2.39% on a YoY basis. 


Net Interest Income (NII) increased to INR 8,552 crore in Q3FY22 as against INR 7,477 crore in Q3FY21, registering a growth 14.38% YoY.   

Operating Income of the Bank increased by 6.57% YoY to INR 11,071 crore in Q3FY22. 

Operating Income for 9MFY22 registered a growth of 10.57% and stood at INR 32,972 crore as against INR 29,819 crore in 9MFY21.  

Cost of Deposits reduced to 3.50% in Dec’21 as against 3.85% in Dec’20.  

Yield on Advances improved sequentially to 6.92% in Dec’21 from 6.55% in Sep’21. 

Operating Profit of the Bank increased to INR 5,483 crore in Q3FY22, up by 7.85% on a YoY basis. Operating Profit for 9MFY22 stands at INR 16,754 crore registering a growth of 11.95% YoY. 

Bank reported a standalone Net Profit of INR 2,197 crore in Q3FY22 as against INR 1,061 crore in Q3FY21.The Net Profit for the 9 months period increased to INR 5494 Crore in Dec’21 from INR 1875 Crore in Dec’20. 

Global NIM increased to 3.13% in Q3FY22 from 2.77% in Q3FY21.  

Return on Assets (RoA) improved by 37bps to 0.74% in Q3FY22 from 0.37% in Q3FY21. 

For the consolidated entity, Net Profit stood at INR 2,464 crore in Q3FY22 as against INR 1,196 crore in Q3FY21. 

Asset Quality 

The Gross NPA of the Bank reduced to INR 55,997 crore in Q3FY22 from the level of INR 63,182 crore in Q3FY21 and Gross NPA Ratio improved to 7.25% in Q3FY22 from 8.48% in Q3FY21. 

The Net NPA Ratio of the Bank improved to 2.25% in Q3FY22 as compared with 2.83% in Q2FY22. 

The Provision Coverage Ratio of the Bank stood at 85.95% including TWO and 70.60% excluding TWO in Q3FY22. 

Capital Adequacy 

CRAR of the Bank improved to 15.47% in Dec’21 from 12.93% in Dec’20. Tier-I stood at 13.24% (CET-1 at 11.30%, AT1 at 1.94%) and Tier-II stood at 2.23% as of Dec’21.  

The CRAR and CET-1 of consolidated entity stands at 15.97% and 11.91% respectively

Ruchika further adds, “As a responsible brand, we want to ensure that we enable everyone to further empower others with access to quality healthcare through insurance. ‘FG Gift of Health’ has several unique features to ensure that the benefits of insurance can reach all segments of the society. Depending on the product chosen, the policy will cover incidental expenses during hospitalization by providing daily cash benefit and / or lumpsum benefit in case of accidental injuries leading to disabilities / death. While Future Hospicash covers incidental expenses in case of hospitalisation and offers a fixed benefit for each day of hospitalisation, irrespective of the actual medical cost. Accident Suraksha provides beneficiaries with a lumpsum amount in case of accidental injuries leading to disability / death. Further, an additional discount of 10% on the total premium can be leveraged if both the plan options are being bought for the benefit of the same individual. There is no medical examination required for obtaining insurance cover under this policy.

ABFRL To Create Platform For D2C Business; Charts Ambitious Path To Build India’s Largest Portfolio Of Digital-First Fashion & Llifestyle Brands

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL), India’s leading fashion company, today announced its plans to set up a platform for foraying into the Direct to Consumer (D2C) business. The Board of directors of the Company in their meeting today provided an omnibus approval to set up a new subsidiary towards building a portfolio of distinct, new-age, digital brands across categories in fashion, beauty and other allied lifestyle segments.  The D2C portfolio will be built through organic and inorganic means. This venture will initially be funded through ABFRL’s internal accruals. At an appropriate time, the company will look to bring in external capital to accelerate the growth journey. The D2C market opportunity in India is expected to be $100bn by 2025. 

The newly incorporated entity will organically incubate and also acquire promising and scalable D2C brands. Other than providing growth capital, ABFRL’s proposition is built around its strong operational expertise where it will utilize its rich experience and capabilities to scale up this portfolio.  

Commenting on the move, Mr. Ashish Dikshit, Managing Director, ABFRL said, “We are excited about the D2C opportunity in India. Singapore Tourism Board Launches Safe Itinerary Guide And “Experience Singapore!” Compendium For Travel Planners

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and five tourism industry associations in Singapore have announced the launch of the Safe Itinerary Guide and “Experience Singapore!” Compendium, which provides safe travel guidelines and itineraries for the tourism sector as Singapore prepares to welcome more international travellers.

These two resources aim to help the industry design and deliver innovative experiences that are in line with new traveller demands, and are the result of private-public partnerships between STB and the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS), Association of Singapore Attractions (ASA), Singapore Association of Conventions & Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (SACEOS), Singapore Hotel Association (SHA) and Society of Tourist Guides Singapore (STGS).

The Safe Itinerary Guide provides strategies to help tourism businesses better understand their consumers, so that they can personalise travel itineraries based on traveller profiles. It also outlines how businesses can design safe and engaging visitor journeys, while highlighting key capabilities such as data analytics and design thinking, which are needed to respond to future challenges. For example, tourism businesses are encouraged to explore cross-sector partnerships with healthcare providers to give travellers added assurance during their travels, or gamify their offerings to keep travellers engaged.

The “Experience Singapore!” Compendium consists of tourism and lifestyle offerings for leisure and business travellers across various price points and interests. For example, visitors looking to satisfy their wanderlust can take part in an aviation experiential workshop or explore landscapes around the world with a virtual reality flight simulator. Art enthusiasts can interact with art pieces by renowned artists through augmented reality while those seeking a more exclusive experience can take part in back-of-house tours. Some of these experiences have already been incorporated by the providers into itineraries for visitors coming to Singapore via the Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTLs).

Stunning design with industry-first aircraft-grade LDI technology & OPPO Reno Glow

The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G comes with a durable aluminium frame, but the rear of  both devices in the series sport the refined OPPO Glow design that has been enhanced with proprietary aircraft-grade Laser Direct Imaging (LDI) technology.

LDI, which is used to design PCBs in the aviation industry, has been repurposed to create 1.2 million micro etchings—just 20 microns in width—across the surface of the handset’s back cover. It creates a visual and textural illusion of shooting stars that shine and fade into the black galaxy as you hold up the phone in the light. These micron-scale etchings give the devices a matte in-hand feel and brushed finish on top of the OPPO Glow layer. 

The Reno7 Pro also uses 3D "breathing" lights around the camera module where a 1mm diameter fibre is bent to frame the camera area. Whenever the phone receives a call, message, or during charging, the fibre emits soft, pulsating lights.

OPPO has also re-envisioned the rear camera module. In its new Twin Moon Camera design, the upper half is decorated with metal and the lower half is coated with ceramic to provide a contrasting but premium appearance. The Reno7 series handsets come with 2.5D glass applied to both the front and back of the phones to give minimal look. Additionally, The Reno7 Pro is the slimmest Reno ever measuring just 7.45mm, with a total weight of 180g. On the other hand, Reno7 is 7.81mm thin and weighs 173g.

MediaTek chipsets for power-packed Experience

Description automatically generatedThe OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G takes smartphone performance a notch higher with its exclusively customized 5G chipset - MediaTek Dimensity 1200 MAX. This SoC packs an ARM Cortex-A78 core with up to 22% faster CPU performance while also being 25% more power-efficient than the previous generation. Thanks to MediaTek’s Open Resource Architecture, OPPO has incorporated AI Deblur technology into the chipset. This proprietary deblurring algorithm sharpens faces in portraits affected by hand-held shaking. Additionally, the AI-PQ (picture quality) feature baked into the SoC enhances colour and contrast in HDR videos. It uses artificial intelligence to distinguish the subject matter on the screen—whether people, food, grass, sky, buildings, etc—and then uses different colours, sharpness, and other display effects for optimum output. 

The Reno7 5G is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G SoC, but like the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 MAX, it is built using the 6nm process for greater power-efficiency. The Reno7 series comes with OPPO’s proprietary RAM Expansion technology that allows you to run multiple memory-heavy apps with zero lag, and you also get enhanced connectivity.

The series comes with other features like 65W SuperVOOC flash charge that allows you to juice the phone’s 4500mAh battery to 100% within half an hour; also, just a 5-minute charge is enough to give users 4 hours of movie playback. For an immersive gaming experience, a top-of-the-line X-Axis Linear Motor has been added. In both devices, the AI Frame Rate Stabilizer evaluates the frame rate in real-time and provides stabilization accordingly to ensure smooth gameplay.

With Reno7 Pro 5G, customers will get 256GB storage and 12GB RAM. OPPO’s RAM Expansion technology which allows users to borrow an additional 3GB/5GB/7GB from storage capacity to work as RAM in extremely demanding conditions. That said, the Reno7 Pro’s 12GB RAM is more than adequate to handle modern-day smartphone tasks such as heavy-duty photo-editing or 3D gaming. 

Operating with Ease on the User-friendly ColorOS 12

The Reno7 series comes with OPPO’s new ColorOS 12 (based on Android 12). Page layouts and interactions in ColorOS 12 have been revamped to offer a clean and uncluttered UI. It also includes anti-peeping notifications for privacy where notification content is hidden if the phone detects someone else looking at your screen when messages pop up. Accenture Names Manish Sharma As Chief Operating Officer; Yusuf Tayob To Become Group Chief Executive — Operations

Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today announced changes to its executive leadership team, naming a new chief operating officer and a new group chief executive of its Operations service. Each of these leaders exemplify Accenture’s Leadership Essentials.

Manish Sharma has been named chief operating officer, effective March 1, 2022, with responsibility for leading the company’s business operations and executing business strategy, protecting the company’s people and infrastructure and ensuring operational excellence, which includes the ongoing digital transformation of Accenture. Sharma most recently served as group chief executive — Operations, overseeing a comprehensive intelligent operations portfolio. Sharma also led the development of Accenture’s SynOps platform, which orchestrates the optimal combination of human + machine talent, driven by AI, data and insights, to create an evolved, intelligent operating model to deliver targeted business outcomes. A strong advocate for inclusion and diversity, Sharma has played a key role in fostering gender equality in Operations. Sharma founded the Accenture Rural program, through which Accenture partners with small business process services firms in rural areas in India. He and his wife also have established a trust that focuses on children’s education in India. Sharma is a 27-year veteran of Accenture and a member of the company’s Global Management Committee.

He helped design and implement two major operating model transformations; led the digitization of Accenture, which is now over 95% in the cloud and uses leading cloud-based software applications in all parts of its enterprise; created the company’s information security function; and, he developed leading enterprise risk management and business continuity programs. In addition, he served as group chief executive of Europe. Deblaere was active with Junior Achievement for many years, chairing the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement Europe and serving as a board member. Most recently, Deblaere joined the board of a non-profit hospital in his hometown.

During his career with Accenture, Tayob has worked with over 100 client organizations in over 20 countries, bringing extensive experience in business strategy, operating model change, business process optimization and large-scale technology implementation. He serves on the Board of Directors of the T. Howard Foundation, promoting diversity in media, entertainment and tech industries. Tayob is a member of Accenture’s Global Management Committee.

Godrej Industries Ltd. Valia Plant, Gujarat Becomes First Chemical Manufacturing Facility To Achieve GreenCo Platinum Rating

Godrej Industries Ltd. (Chemicals) has set a new benchmark by becoming the first chemical manufacturing company in the country to achieve a ‘GreenCo Platinum’ rating. The award was conferred by the CII-Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre (CII-Godrej GBC) for the company’s manufacturing facility in Valia (Gujarat) under GreenCo (Green Company Rating System). 

The GreenCo Rating System is envisioned to create a green movement in the country. The rating is based on ten key parameters- energy efficiency, water conservation, product stewardship and life cycle assessment, innovation, waste management, green supply chain, material conservation and recycling, green infrastructure and ecological, renewable energy, GHG emissions. It assesses and analyses the environmental impact of a company’s operations and points are assigned for each rating parameter after site assessment. 

In alignment with the Godrej ‘Good and Green’ objectives, in the last ten years, the facility has cut its specific energy consumption by 26%, water usage by 30% and reduced specific greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 46%. Its reliance on fossil fuel for steam generation has also reduced by more than 90% during the same period. Currently, 48% of the energy used in the facility are from renewable sources. Godrej Industries now aims to achieve carbon neutrality, water neutrality and zero waste to landfill as a group by 2026.
