Toyota Kirloskar Motor inaugurates New City Office in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar


Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced the inauguration of its new city office in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (CSN), Maharashtra — a key milestone towards strengthening its presence in the State of Maharashtra and reaffirming its commitment to contributing India’s automotive industry.

Coal India, SCCL and Heartfulness sign MoU towards restoration of closed mines and sustainable livelihoods


Coal India Ltd., The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) joined hands with Heartfulness  (led by Revered Daaji – Guide of Heartfulness & President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission) by signing two MoUs respectively as announced by the Ministry of Coal and Mines (Govt. of India). Shri G. Kishan Reddy - Hon’ble Union Minister of Coal and Mines, Govt. Of India graced the MoU signing event at Kanha Shanti Vanam – the headquarters of Heartfulness, in the outskirts of Hyderabad today. The Union Minister was joined by Shri Satish Chandra Dubey - Hon’ble Minister of State of Coal and Mines, Govt. Of India, Senior Management and Representatives of Coal India Ltd., SCCL and Heartfulness. The purpose of the MoUs is to foster restoration, bringing a green cover and develop an ecosystem at the mine closure sites through Heartfulness Institute resources in alignment with the RECLAIM initiative.

The RECLAIM initiative which is an acronym for 1. Reach-out 2. Envision 3.Co-design 4. Localise 5. Act 6. Integrate 7. Maintain is intended at Community Engagement and Development Framework for Mine Closure and Repurposing. It builds on field experience and global good practices including guidance from ICMM (2022), the Sustainable Development Goals, and IFC Performance Standards.

Heartfulness Institute will provide the necessary technology and resources in creating a viable green cover over the closed mines, controlling and sequestering hazardous gases, replenish the soil layers and creating a sustainable ecosystem at the mine closure sites. The framework will generate the livelihoods of those around the closed mining sites or those who depending on mining for livelihoods.

The MoUs will ensure that the regions that once shaped by extraction become spaces for renewal, dignity and opportunity.  Since mine closures significantly impact both landscapes, there is a need to restore natural systems. An equal need to strengthen local institutions and enabling sustainable livelihoods is felt. The RECLAIM framework is a key step toward as a structured guide for inclusive community engagement and development throughout the mine closure and post-closure phases. It offers a practical, step-by-step approach to institutionalizing community participation in the transition process.

Shri G. Kishan Reddy – Hon’ble Union Minister for Coal and Mines, Govt. of India said, “We are committed to restoring the closed mine sites as it is time for us to give back to nature. The Govt. Mandates mine closures in the most scientific and sustainable way and replenish the mining sites with economic and environmental value across the country. Heartfulness’s meticulousness in creating a sustainable ecosystem is evident at Kanha Shanti Vanam, the Heartfulness headquarters. By joining hands with them, we will do all we can do for restoration, repurposing, long-term socio-economic growth by generating livelihoods.”

Since the extraction depletes the site of nature’s bounty, we should feel the responsibility in giving back in the best of our ability not only in terms of creating a viable ecosystem but also help create sustainable livelihoods in such regions across the country,” added Rev. NCW and EDII Unite to Champion Women’s Entrepreneurship and Empowerment


In a step towards fostering inclusive growth and economic self-reliance, the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, in collaboration with the National Commission for Women (NCW), conducted an interactive session of Smt. Vijaya K. Rahatkar, Chairperson, NCW with women entrepreneurs.

This event which was held at EDII’s campus also had the presence of Mrs. Shivani Dey, Deputy Secretary, NCW; Mr. Ramawatar Singh, Head – Training, NCW and Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII.

One of the highlights of the event was a workshop on ‘YASHODA AI’, a digital literacy programme specially designed to teach women the basics of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity.

Smt. Vijaya K. Rahatkar spoke about the need to give women more opportunities to lead, build businesses, and keep up with the fast-changing digital world.

Addressing the women entrepreneurs, Smt. Rahatkar said, “Empowering women isn’t just about giving them skills — it’s about building confidence and shifting mindsets. Women should feel safe, capable and ready to lead, whether it’s in business, technology or everyday life. With novel initiatives and with meaningful partnerships, NCW is helping women step into the world of technology and innovations. AI is a new and rapidly growing field, offering immense opportunities and possibilities for women. NCW’s effort is to ensure that our daughters and sisters understand, learn and move forward in this emerging technology. We are committed to empowering every woman in the field of AI, so that they can also play a significant role in developing the future of our nation.”

In the year 2023-24, EDII in collaboration with NCW conducted 100 Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAPs) across 35 states and Union Territories, reaching out to 5,976 aspiring women entrepreneurs. In addition to these capacity-building initiatives, the Institute has also partnered with NCW to undertake research studies in Varanasi and Indore, conducting Women’s Safety Audit to assess the safety levels experienced by women in public and workplace settings.

Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII, said, “NCW’s novel efforts, as well as and progressive national and state schemes and policies for promoting women entrepreneurship envision an inventive new generation of entrepreneurs who will build startups on the premise of knowledge, innovations and technology. NCW and EDII’s joint effort has also been rewarding in the way it has built capacities and generated knowledge among aspiring women entrepreneurs.

The interactive session was attended by around 250 participants who discussed the challenges they faced, the lessons they learned, and how capacity building programmes could help them evolve as visionary entrepreneurs.

The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, was set up in 1983 as an autonomous and not-for-profit Institute with the support of apex financial institutions - the IDBI Bank Ltd., IFCI Ltd., ICICI Bank Ltd., and State Bank of India (SBI). The Government of Gujarat pledged twenty-three acres of land on which stands the majestic and sprawling EDII Campus.  EDII has been recognised as the CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.
