PhysicsWallah (PW), an education company, is taking a step towards making quality education accessible with the expansion of vernacular offerings through Bharat Batches under Project Bharat. Announced at Vishwas Diwas, PW’s annual flagship event celebrating student success, Project Bharat is designed to help bridge language barriers and ensure that students across India, especially those in rural and non-Hindi/English-speaking regions, have access to quality learning materials in their native languages. As part of Bharat Batches, NEET and JEE content of Lakshya Program will now be available in Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, and English, with plans to introduce more languages. All Bharat batches are available at up to 20% off until March 10th.
Studies have shown that students grasp concepts better in their mother tongue, leading to improved retention and critical thinking ability.* Furthermore, a recent UNESCO report highlighted that 40% of the global population lacks access to education in their native or familiar language, creating a significant barrier to effective learning. PW is using AI-driven technology along with its teaching experience to create a good learning experience. Under Project Bharat, content will be scripted in regional languages, dubbed, and then enhanced with AI. This approach aims to replicate the experience of lectures being personally delivered by PW founder Alakh Sir and the platform's renowned faculty. This ensures that students receive the same quality, trusted learning from PW’s teachers in their native language (without losing the essence of the teaching).
Speaking on the expansion, Alakh Pandey, Founder & CEO, PhysicsWallah, said, “A student's intelligence isn't measured by their fluency in English or Hindi but by their grasp of concepts, often understood in their native tongue. Project Bharat responds to the demand for first-language instruction. Using AI, we're trying to ensure that students feel they're learning directly from the teachers. This initiative is trying to be more than an upgrade; it's a project to support the idea of learning in local languages envisioned in the National Education Policy and emphasised by Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
By trying to enhance its vernacular suite, PhysicsWallah is helping to address the shortage of teachers in regional languages. This expansion will help students to learn from the teachers in their mother tongue, to improve their educational experience. Bharat Batches leverage AI technology to try and mitigate the challenges faced while learning in vernacular language, providing consistency and instruction directly from the teachers, thus trying to bridge the educational gap across regions. With Project Bharat, PhysicsWallah is not just trying to expand its reach but also trying to make learning inclusive, and tailored to the needs of every student.
