* The conference was on the topic “Handling Perioperative Emergencies: An Integrated Series for Anesthesia Technologists”
Manipal College of Health Professions, MAHE, Manipal organized the National Conference- 2022 on “Handling Perioperative Emergencies: An Integrated Series for Anesthesia Technologists”. This conference was designed to help Anesthesia technologists to handle perioperative emergencies and included resources relevant to step-by-step information on how to detect, manage, and treat complications and emergencies during the perioperative period.
More than 300 delegates from South India participated in the conference. It was inaugurated by Dr H.S Ballal, Pro Chancellor, MAHE, Manipal and Dr Unnikrishnan B Dean, Kasturba Medical College Mangalore was the guest of honour. Other dignitaries present were Dr G Arun Maiya Dean, Manipal College of Health professions, Dr Nita Varghese, Head of the program and Ms. Anju T, organizing Secretory of the conference.
Speaking about the conference Dr H.S Ballal, Pro Chancellor, MAHE, Manipal said “The role of allied health professionals in the healthcare system is very crucial. They play an important role in treating, rehabilitating and improving the lives of the patients. In emergency conditions, complications can arise anytime, and allied health professionals must be prepared for them. Through this conference we aim to help Anesthesia technologists to handle emergencies and manage different complications that may arise”
