Phoenix Mall of Asia, Bengaluru, marked India’s 77th Republic Day with Republic Rhythms, a day-long celebration that blended national pride, fitness, and community spirit at the Plaza and Fan Park, Phoenix Mall of Asia. From an inspiring flag hoisting ceremony to a high-energy fitness run and a vibrant entrepreneurs’ exhibition, the event drew thousands of Bengalureans who came together to celebrate the values that define the nation.
The morning began on a solemn and proud note with the flag hoisting ceremony led by Colonel J.B. Singh, one of the Indian Army’s most decorated officers. Commissioned in 1997, Colonel J.B. Singh is a recipient of the Sena Medal, Bar to Sena Medal, and the Shaurya Chakra for exceptional bravery during counter-terrorism operations in Jammu & Kashmir.
Adding energy to the celebrations was the Republic Run, which saw over 2,000 young Bengalureans participate in a spirited 5K run, followed by a series of engaging fitness challenges. From Burpee and Plank Challenges to Fitness Bingo, AMRAP routines, and Flexibility Challenges, the event transformed the Mall Plaza into a buzzing fitness arena. Participants cheered each other on, creating an atmosphere that was competitive, inclusive, and full of positive energy, setting the tone for a dynamic Republic Day morning.
The celebrations also highlighted entrepreneurship and empowerment through the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) Entrepreneurs Exhibition and Sale. Organised in collaboration with the AWWA, the exhibition featured 24 women entrepreneurs, including army wives and Veer Naris, who showcased a diverse range of products such as handmade crafts, handlooms, sarees, apparel, cosmetics, and bakery items. The initiative reflected AWWA’s ongoing efforts to support financial independence and skill-based livelihoods, while giving visitors an opportunity to engage directly with inspiring stories of resilience and creativity.
