Abhinav Bindra And Pullela Gopichand Unveil The New Dhyana Ring Which Can Continuously Track The Wearer’s Inner Balance

* Dhyana has helped over 2.5 lakh people across the world achieve maximum mindfulness through meditation. With their new ring, the company aims to assist people to gain control over their wellness. The device measures sleep, activity and mindfulness while notifying users of oncoming stress by continuously tracking their inner balance

Pullela Gopichand-backed Indian wellness wearable start-up Dhyana along with Olympic Gold medalist Abhinav Bindra have officially unveiled the second version of its signature ring. The device’s ultra-light unibody aluminum ring is designed to be worn continuously and performs various vital functions.

The new Dhyana ring is the first and only miniature continuous heart rate variability (HRV) monitoring device in the world. This combined with proprietary algorithms makes it versatile for a number of wellness applications.

Dhyana tracks activity and sleep patterns and most importantly mindfulness, making it the first wearable to track both body and mind. It also measures calories, blood oxygen, and metabolic activity, which is of critical importance for dieting and weight loss programs.

“The first version of Dhyana was focussed on measuring mindfulness during meditation," said Bhairav Shankar, Dhyana's MD. "Our new and updated version is a complete game-changer, it’s designed to be worn the whole day, helping users track their inner balance continuously.”

A patented feature of the new Dhyana ring will notify the user whenever their stress levels are increasing. Imagine heading for a meeting and getting a notification that says your stress levels are high. You can pause for the signature two meditations inside the Dhyana app that is designed to get your stress levels back to normal. You can then go for the meeting with confidence and poise.

“When I was training to be a shooter, I wish I had a Dhyana ring,” said   Abhinav Bindra, who took part in the product development and has contributed his expertise in maintaining inner balance. “The fact that it can instantly show me how my mind is being disturbed is just amazing.”

Dhyana was also selected as the official meditation partner by the Indian Olympic Association for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The first version of the Dhyana ring was used extensively by both the Gopichand Academy in Hyderabad, India, and the Neuromeditation Institute in Oregon, USA to assess the effects HRV has on people’s mental states at different intervals, such as pre and post-workout, pre-meeting, etc. Amazingly over 60 percent of the people testing the device decided to continue using Dhyana even after the tests were done, and they’re using it till date.

The first 5000 units can be pre-ordered now by visiting the company website: www.smartdhyana.com. The product is expected to ship by 2023.
