Leading Japanese consumer electronics brand, AKAI India has rolled out their latest line-up of Semi-Automatic washing machines. Themed ‘The Spa for your Clothes’, this new range addresses the gap between heavy-duty endurance and premium fabric care. With this launch, AKAI has leaned heavily into its cultural roots to solve modern problems of Indian households.

With added capacities and pulsator technologies, the new range now runs from 7 kg to 14 kg, built around a simple idea: a wash shouldn't waste water, electricity, or the machine itself.

Sold under AKAI's “The Spa for Your Clothes” positioning, the line-up is meant to cover a wide range of households, from young couples buying their first machine to larger joint families who need more capacity. Rather than compete on over bloated features which consumers seldom use, AKAI is leaning into low running costs and machines built to last.

KEY FEATURES*

The biggest change in the new range sits at the drum level. AKAI has spread five distinct pulsator technologies across its semi-automatic models:

x5 Wing Pulsator — the entry-level option across the full 7 kg to 14 kg range, running Normal and Gentle cycles, with a third Strong mode added on the higher-capacity models

Dual Force Pulsator — fitted on select models, built for households running heavier loads day to day

Active Flow 360° — drives AKAI's “Magic Wash,” a 35-minute cycle with a built-in soak function, on select models

Jumbo Pulsator — a three-program wash (Normal, Gentle, Strong) on the 8.5 kg glass-lid range, with an electronic timer that runs up to 40 minutes

Spiral Pulsator and Roller Pulsator — round out the 8.5 kg and 10.5 kg tiers respectively, each with a water selector and multiple wash programs

At the top of the range, the 11 kg model introduces a stainless-steel wash-and-spin tub — a first for AKAI's semi-automatic line.

BUILT TO LAST, NOT TO BE THROWN OUT

Every model in the range, whatever its capacity, shares the same protective build: an anti-rat mesh guarding the wiring, a rust-proof body, and thermal protection for the wash motor. AKAI backs this with a five-year warranty on the wash motor and a 5-star energy rating across the range — making longevity, rather than replacement, the core pitch.

Most capacities also come with soft-closing lids (on 7.5 kg glass-lid models and above), castor wheels for easy movement, a collar scrubber and magic filter for lint and dirt, and either a single or dual water inlet, depending on the model.
