Tanuj Virwani Shares Incident Regarding How He Got Stranded In Georgia Looking For Sneaker Brand Worn By Shah Rukh Khan

* Tanuj Virwani Spoke About This Hilarious Incident On Zee Café’s New Show  ‘Just Talk Sneakers’

Popular actor Tanuj Virwani, who recently welcomed a baby girl, made quite an entertaining appearance on Zee Café’s latest show, Just Talk Sneakers. As the guest on the inaugural episode of this unique chat show, which dives into the world of sneakers and sneakerheads, Tanuj shared a funny story that had everyone in splits.

“I was shooting for a show in Tbilisi, Georgia, when I discovered a brand called Golden Goose. I had heard that the king himself, Shah Rukh Khan wears it but had no idea one could get it in this small town.”  Tanuj recalled.

Excited, he tracked down a store, even though it was quite far from the shoot location. His love for sneakers made him venture out during one of his breaks from the shoot. Determined to get his hands on this brand, he made his way to this non-descript place where apparently the store was. However, midway through the drive, the car ran out of fuel, leaving Tanuj stranded in the middle of nowhere. The driver hurried off to get petrol, while Tanuj stressed firstly about making it to the store and secondly but most importantly returning back on the sets. After a tense wait, the driver emerged with fuel and they finally made it to the store, only to find out that it catered only to women. But as luck would have it, the storekeeper pointed out that he did have pairs for men but only 3 were in stock.

While Tanuj’s frustration was seeping in, he suddenly decided to just pick the only three pairs available without trying and rush back to his shoot.

As Tanuj recalled, “Only people close to me know about my deep love for sneakers. I purchase them from every corner of the world and showcase them like a prized trophy. However, this quest for looking for SRKs favourite brand led me to buy shoes of a smaller size. The choice was between returning back empty handed or coming back with a size smaller, so but obviously I chose the latter” he quipped.

He further added, “ I had to flaunt the babies so wore them the next day itself. I cut my toe nails, and squeezed my foot to get into it. My walk was indeed a sight to behold ..ha ha. But such is my love for sneakers.”

This is just one of the many entertaining stories Tanuj shared on Just Talk Sneakers. Catch the premiere episode on 6th October at 8:30 pm on Zee Café, with new episodes dropping every Sunday. You can also watch it on Zee Café’s YouTube channel.

Experian Research: GenAI And Data-Driven Decisioning Are Key Competitive Advantages For Global Business Leaders

* New Experian Report Conducted By Forrester Consulting Surveys Over 1200 Senior Decision-Makers And Leaders Across EMEA And APAC

 * 75% of business leaders agree that their competitive advantage is dependent on making the best use of AI; analysing alternative data sources emerged as the top GenAI use case

* Business leaders seek a more agile approach to analytics, as 76% of respondents believe that it takes them too long to develop and deploy AI/ML models

* Despite challenging economic conditions such as volatile interest rates and the growing urgency to prioritise sustainability initiatives, business leaders are optimistic about the future and investing in digital transformation

Experian’s latest research report investigates different perspectives from senior decision-makers in four key areas: strategic priorities, data and analytics, technology, and risk. Conducted by Forrester Consulting, the research surveyed 1320 Financial Services and Telco C-suite and Director level leaders across ten countries in the EMEA and APAC regions, including India, Australia, Denmark, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, Spain, and the Netherlands. The report reveals how business leaders are utilising Generative AI (GenAI), consolidating datasets to improve decisioning models, and focusing on customer experience to better prepare for a future shaped by challenging economic conditions, technological disruption, and evolving customer expectations.

The race to harness the potential of Generative AI is well underway

Business leaders identified technological disruption as the top external factor impacting their business in the coming two years, putting emphasis on the race toward AI supremacy to improve business efficiencies and reduce costs. Seventy-five percent of surveyed participants believe that competitive advantage in their industry will be dependent on who can make the best use of AI, and three-quarters 75% of the surveyed technology leaders are exploring GenAI use cases with a view to implement them within the next year.

Seventy-five percent of senior leaders agree that GenAI will significantly improve the way they assess risk. Analysing alternative data sources using GenAI emerged as the top use case 78%, highlighting its ability to unlock valuable insights from non-traditional datasets, supporting the creation of better decisioning models and a more holistic picture of the customer.

Technological disruption is a catalyst for improving customer experience

Access to a centralised cloud-based platform for data, analytics and software was identified by survey respondents as a notable factor to improve risk strategy. Nearly half 41% of respondents agree that over the next 12 months, they will see additional credit stress with more missed repayments and delinquencies – with that same percentage 42% tightening their lending criteria in the past year. 50% of risk leaders also indicated that the top risk priority is to improve the ability to identify financially vulnerable customers. Better integration between data sources, model development tools, ops deployment and decisioning software – coupled with harnessing the power of AI – allows lenders to have a more holistic view of borrowers and to fast-track the data-to-insight-to-action process. Ultimately, this leads to better customer relations and fairer lending practices.

Combining datasets into a single cloud-based platform is key to enhancing analytical capability

Data and analytics leaders are prioritising the move of siloed datasets into a single platform that combines data and analytics, as this better enables AI/ML capability and allows them to push models into production in weeks instead of months. In the current state, more than three-quarter 76% of respondents believe that it takes them too long to develop and deploy AI/ML models, with 63% stating that they are updating their models more frequently than ever before to adapt to changing consumer credit behaviour.

Alternative data and advanced analytics are critical to helping businesses make more accurate lending decisions, especially as consumer behaviours evolve and external economic factors continue to make an impact. However, a lack of alternative data sources was identified by respondents as a significant challenge limiting the success of analytics programs and modelling development. In a cloud platform, the advanced capabilities of AI can be used to efficiently process and analyse alternative or complex unstructured datasets, extracting valuable insights that were previously inaccessible. Leveraging this technology enhances the accuracy of predictive models and ultimately enables the creation of more comprehensive insights and credit risk profiles.

“This year’s research highlights the importance of two critical factors – first the race for AI superiority, with business leaders believing it to be critical to gain competitive advantage in their sector. And secondly, the clear focus on investment in analytics tools and infrastructure to better harness the power of data, with many businesses still struggling with the time and effort required to develop and deploy models. The findings suggest businesses are increasingly adopting cloud-based services to better connect data, analytics and software,” says Manish Jain, Country Managing Director, Experian India.

"It is encouraging to see that the majority of senior leaders are optimistic about growth in the year ahead, with plans for greater investment in technology as a result. But we are still facing broader macroeconomic challenges, with customer financial hardship highlighted as a significant concern. AI and ML tools present a considerable opportunity to enhance the precision of credit assessment, for new and existing customers, and thus can help safeguard vulnerable customers with proactive engagement,” says Malin Holmberg, CEO, EMEA & APAC, Experian.

A New Dawn For Elders: NSEPW 2024 Shines Light On Mental Wellbeing

* Experts, Celebrities, and Change-Makers Come Together to Address Elder Psychological Wellbeing

As cities grow and societies shift, and young India migrates, elders face an invisible crisis - loneliness. Held on the occasion of the United Nations' International Day of Older Persons [UNIDOP], the National Symposium on Elder Psychological Wellbeing 2024 (#nsepw24) provided a beacon of hope as it unites experts, thought leaders, and change-makers at Bangalore International Centre. The one-day symposium, hosted by Charista Foundation and SENI India (by TZMO), aimed to tackle the mental health challenges and social isolation experienced by the nation’s seniors.

With urbanization and lifestyle changes rapidly accelerating, loneliness has become a major concern, especially among older adults. Studies show that loneliness can be as harmful to health as smoking two packs of cigarettes a day. In India, as per the 2021 census, over 104 million people are aged 60 and above (around 9.4% of the population), with this number expected to rise significantly (we are staring at 19.6% of the population) by 2050. The symposium shed light on these issues, exploring ideas, policies, and empathy-driven solutions, along with the need for effective government policy to address the psychological wellbeing of elders.

Padmashri Dr. Syed M. H. Kirmani, World Cup-winning cricketer, shared a deep personal reflection on elder well-being in his keynote address - “You may be self-made, but not without the selfless support and love from your parents. As someone who has achieved much in my youth, I understand how crucial it is to build a strong support system for old age.Your parents rightfully deserve their place in your life. It is your responsibility to show gratitude and ensure their aging is comfortable. We should unite and create policies to provide mental, emotional, and social support for our elders. Loneliness should not be the legacy we leave them with. Congratulations and gratitude to Charista Foundation for spearheading this cause, it is a great service to humanity.”

Mrs. Geetanjali Kirloskar, Chairperson of Kirloskar Systems Private Limited, emphasized the importance of empathy in elder care, saying: “Empathy is not just a word; it is the foundation upon which we must build the future of elder care. We often forget that the elderly are not just numbers or statistics in reports, but individuals with stories, emotions, and needs. It’s not just about developing policies; it’s about creating environments where seniors feel seen, valued, and heard. Through family support systems, corporate responsibility programs, and government policies, empathy must drive the conversation.

With events like NSEPW 2024, we are fostering the dialogue that will shape a compassionate and caring society. Together, we can create a future where aging is embraced with dignity and respect.”

Dr. Saketh M., Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Consciousness Studies, NIMHANS, spoke on the positive effects of meditation

Anil Kumar P., Managing Trustee of Charista Foundation, called for a movement toward policy reform: "As we spearhead this initiative, we are unearthing a Pandora’s box. We need committed and socially conscious individuals and organizations to join us in this journey, influencing the much-needed reform. Thousands of hands must join together to help us design a better future for ourselves and create an influence for a dedicated ‘Ministry for Seniors’. It’s time to address the issue and implement solutions to create a better India for our aging community.”

On a lighter note, co-founding trustee Shilpi Das offered her personal perspective: “If I’m going to live for long, I might live without the tag of a senior citizen for another decade, but who knows how life will treat me? What I do know is that I don’t want to cry, crib, complain, blame, or become grumpy. If I want to achieve this, I must make life choices today to pursue that state of bliss that no one can steal. But I also wonder—will there be an external support system to help me through? Because today, there is no social empathy.”

The event also brought together experts, policymakers, and domain thought leaders to discuss progressive policies and empathy-led solutions for tackling elder loneliness and mental health concerns. Among the distinguished guests were Dr. Radha S. Murthy, President – Dementia Alliance India, Managing Trustee – Nightingales Centre for Ageing, Col. Achal Sridharan, Managing Director – CovaiCare Retirement Homes, Prof. Ajit Mani – Public Policy Analyst, Dr. Manjula Raman – Pedagogist, Mr. Balachander Gandhekar – Filmmaker & Writer, Ms. Sujatha Balakrishan, Founder, Theatre for Change amongst many other stalwarts.

By engaging experts across industries, NSEPW 2024 sparked meaningful conversations around the future of elder care and mental health, highlighting the urgent need for societal empathy and policy reform.

Total CV Sales of 84,281 units, -19% YoY

Total PV Sales of 1,30,753 units, -6% YoY

Tata Motors Limited sales in the domestic & international market for Q2 FY 2024-25 stood at 2,15,034 vehicles, compared to 2,43,024 units during Q2 FY 2023-24.

Domestic sales of MH&ICV in Sept 2024, was 14,190 units vs 18,577 units in Sept 2023; In Q2 FY25 it was 37,372 units, compared to 45,174 units in Q2 FY24.

Domestic & International sales for MH&ICV in Sept 2024, was 14,839 units vs 19,199 units in Sept 2023; while in Q2 FY25 it stood at 39,433 units, vs 46,865 units in Q2 FY24.

Mr. Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors Ltd. said, “Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles domestic sales at 79,931 units in Q2 FY25 were ~19% lower than Q2 FY24 sales. Sales in September 2024 were ~11% higher compared to August 2024.

Slowdown in infrastructure project execution, reduction in mining activity and an overall drop in fleet utilization due to heavy rains resulted in the HCV segment record a 25% YoY decline in Q2 FY25 and the ILMCV segment register a 11% decline. The resilient demand in the passenger commercial vehicles business saw it register a 3% increase in Q2 FY25 over Q2 FY24. SCVPU volumes decline by 25% YoY, and we expect a gradual improvement as we press on with initiatives to address challenges in first-time user financing.

As we move forward, with the rains easing, increased infrastructure spending, and the arrival of the festive season boosting consumption, we anticipate demand to pick up gradually in Q3, led by ILMCV and Buses, followed by M&HCV and SCVPU.”

Passenger Vehicles: Includes sales of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, both subsidiaries of Tata Motors Limited.

Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said, “The PV industry in Q2 FY25 saw more than 5% decline in retails (Vahan registrations) compared to Q2 FY24 driven by slow consumer demand and seasonal factors. In contrast, industry offtake was significantly higher than registrations in anticipation of a strong start to the festive season, resulting in a continued buildup of channel stock. In addition, Electric Vehicle sales in personal segment was affected by the lapse of registration and road tax waivers in key states. Fleet EV sales continued to remain impacted due to lapse of FAME II and non-inclusion of the fleet segment in PM-eDRIVE scheme.

Tata Motors posted wholesales of 130,753 units in Q2 FY25, a decline of 6% compared to Q2 FY24, as we readjusted wholesales to lower-than-expected retails, to keep channel inventory under control. During the quarter, we launched the Curvv, which has received an excellent response with strong bookings for all its powertrains – petrol, diesel and electric. Initial deliveries of Curvv have commenced, and we will continue to ramp up production in Q3. Our market facing interventions have been well received, generating a strong pipeline. The launch of our higher range Nexon.ev has also generated strong consumer interest.

Registrations picked up pace towards end of the month which augurs well for the festive period ahead and we remain focused on driving up consumer preference for our exciting range of vehicles while maintaining the health of our dealer network."
