* Conducts complimentary cardiac screening ahead of World Heart Day
Routine heart-health checks can help identify cardiovascular risk factors that may have no obvious symptoms. Yet, for auto drivers balancing long working hours and daily earning commitments, finding time for preventive care can be difficult. Addressing this need, Apollo Hospitals, Bannerghatta Road, organised a complimentary cardiac screening camp in association with the Auto Rickshaw Drivers Union (ARDU), ahead of World Heart Day.
The community gratitude initiative provided 100 auto drivers with blood pressure and random blood sugar checks, a lipid profile, ECG and a cardiology consultation.
Akshay Oleti, CEO – Apollo Hospitals, Karnataka Region said: “At Apollo Hospitals, we are committed to making preventive healthcare more accessible to the communities we serve. Auto drivers play a vital role in Bengaluru’s everyday life, and caring for their health is a meaningful way to recognise their contribution. Through our partnership with ARDU, we want to help them make time for timely health checks and take informed steps towards better heart health.”
C Suresh Kumar, President, Auto Rickshaw, Driver’s Union (R) Bangalore “For many of our members, time away from driving means losing earnings, so routine health checks often get postponed. This camp gave them an opportunity to understand their heart health and receive medical guidance. We thank Apollo Hospitals for recognising their needs.”
