The event featured a total prize pool of ₹1.5 lakhs across both 5K and 10K categories. Funds raised through the event were contributed towards supporting Akshaya Patra Foundation’s Mid-Day Meal Programme.
“Miles4Meals is more than a run, it is a collective expression of responsibility and purpose. Hunger continues to be a significant barrier to education for many children, and as an academic institution, we believe it is our responsibility to contribute meaningfully to addressing such societal challenges.
While we may not be able to solve the problem entirely, initiatives like these represent an important step towards a hunger-free India. It is heartening to see our students, faculty, and the broader community come together for a cause that goes beyond academics. Such an event fosters the value of social responsibility and compassion, which are as critical as knowledge and innovation.
Ultimately, the smiles we help bring to these children reaffirm our commitment to building not just a knowledge-driven society, but also a humane and inclusive one,” said Prof. Debabrata Das, Director, IIIT-Bangalore.
