Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence Deemed-to-be University, inaugurated the prestigious two-day International Symposium "Science Beyond Boundary: Invention, Discovery, Innovation and Society - Rasayan 21." The symposium, jointly organized by MAHE and Chirantan Rasayan Sanstha (CRS), brought together over 200 world-renowned scientists, researchers, and thought leaders to explore transformative research addressing critical global challenges.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, VSM (Retd.), Vice Chancellor, MAHE, who officially opened the symposium. The event was attended by distinguished guests including Prof. J.B. Joshi, Chancellor of ICT Mumbai; Prof. Ramgopal Rao, Vice Chancellor of BITS Pilani; Prof. Vudhichai Parasuk, President of the Thailand Chemical Society; Prof. Sajan D. George, Convener and Director of Manipal Institute of Applied Physics; Prof. C.V. Yelamaggad, Secretary of CRS; and Prof. Braja Gopal Bag, President of CRS.

A special message of support was received from Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India. He stated: “Science flourishes when it transcends boundaries—where invention transforms possibility, discovery expands knowledge, and innovation propels progress.” He reiterated India’s strategic roadmap to become a developed nation through integrated Science, Technology, Innovation, and Research (STIR) missions that promote convergence between academia, industry, and start-ups

A highlight of the symposium was the remote address by Prof. Ehud Keinan, President of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), who emphasized the transformative potential of science when it operates beyond disciplinary and geopolitical boundaries.

The symposium serves as a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, showcasing groundbreaking research and innovations that transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries. The event aims to foster collaborative dialogue between scientists, innovators, industry experts, and policymakers to address pressing global challenges ranging from climate and energy to food, health, and sustainable technologies.

A central feature of Rasayan 21 was the CRS Awards Ceremony, recognizing 36 scientists from academic institutions, R&D organizations, and industries. Notable honors included the CRS Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Prof. J.B. Joshi and the CRS Leadership Award to Prof. Ramgopal Rao.

Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, VSM (Retd.), Vice Chancellor, MAHE, emphasized the symposium's significance, stating, "Rasayan 21 embodies our commitment to fostering innovation ecosystems that bridge academia and industry. This gathering creates a shared vision for research with real-world impact, demonstrating how science, when conducted with purpose and shared with society, becomes a transformative force for addressing humanity's greatest challenges."

The symposium features keynote addresses and panel discussions spanning chemical sciences, materials science, environmental sustainability, biomedical applications, artificial intelligence, and clean energy technologies. The second day will continue with scientific sessions and a roundtable on "Research for Society: Challenges and Opportunities in the Indian and Global Context."

This initiative reinforces MAHE's position as a leading institution committed to advancing scientific research and strengthening international collaborations for societal benefit.

Hero MotoCorp Dispatches 4.5 Lakh Units Of Motorcycles & Scooters In July 2025, Achieves 21% Year-On-Year Growth

Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, dispatched 449,755 units in July 2025, registering a 21% increase over 370,274 units recorded in July 2024. 

Hero MotoCorp registered over 339,827 VAHAN* retail registrations in July 2025, in line with market trends across both urban and rural regions. Retail activity remained stable, and with the upcoming festive season, volumes are projected to rise in the coming months.

During the month, the company strengthened its presence across key segments. In scooters, market share gains were led by the strong performance of the Destini 125 and Xoom 125.

 

In the motorcycle category, Hero MotoCorp expanded the HF Deluxe Portfolio with the launch of HF Deluxe Pro. Featuring refreshed design, segment-leading features, and superior fuel efficiency, the model enhances the appeal of the entry-level motorcycle segment for a broad spectrum of customers.

 

VIDA, powered by Hero MotoCorp, achieved a major landmark  in July 2025, delivering its highest-ever monthly performance with 11,226 units dispatched and 10,489 VAHAN registrations. The company also doubled its EV VAHAN market share year-on-year (YoY) to 10.2%, underscoring the rapidly accelerating consumer adoption of Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility portfolio.

Tejash BA Shines In Race 1 Of Round 2 Of The 2025 IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup CB300F

• Tejash BA takes the lead in Race 1 of Round 2 with his remarkable performance
  followed by Raivat Dhar and Amit Prasad at the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively

Demonstrating remarkable racing enthusiasm, the young Honda Racing India riders put on an impressive show in Race 1 of the second round of the 2025 IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup CB300F in Coimbatore, highlighting their racing skills and high spirit on the track. 

Tejash BA amped up the excitement in Race 1 with a powerful performance, impressive speed, sharp control, and fierce racing spirit. 

In the 10-lap contest, Tejash BA made a strong start from 2nd on the grid, quickly taking the lead in the opening lap. Demonstrating consistent pace and control, he held his position at the front throughout the race. Tejash secured first position by crossing the chequered flag in a total time of 14:07.625, with his best timing at 1:23.474. 

The fight for second and third place heated up as Raivat Dhar, Amit Prasad, Ann Jennifer, and Swaroop Krishna P battled closely, each rider pushing the limits for a spot on the podium. 

With consistent control and following very closely, Raivat Dhar secured a strong second-place finish, completing the race in 14:08.219. Trailing behind, Amit Prasad delivered a focused and determined performance to claim the third position with a total race time of 14:14.584. 

IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup

The IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup is a prestigious platform designed to develop and nurture the next generation of riders for both national and international championships. The 2025 season of the IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup CB300F comprises five rounds. The season opened kicked off at the Madras International Circuit, Chennai, on 7–8 June 2025. The second round is ongoing in August in Coimbatore, followed by Round 3 in September, back in Chennai. The remaining rounds, including the final Round 5, will also take place at the Madras International Circuit, Chennai with the season finale set for January 2026.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Sells 5,15,378 Units In July 2025

Registers 20% growth in total sales over last month.

 Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) reported total sales of 5,15,378 units in July 2025, including 4,66,331 units in domestic sales and 49,047 units in exports. Notably, HMSI registered a 20% month-on-month (MOM) growth in total sales compared to June 2025. For the Year-to-Date (YTD) period of FY26 (April–July 2025), HMSI recorded total sales of 18,88,242 units, comprising 16,93,036 units sold domestically and 1,95,206 units exported. 

HMSI’s Key Highlights of July 2025:

Road Safety: HMSI continued its commitment to road safety by conducting awareness campaigns across 13 cities nationwide, including Sonipat, Sangli, Cuttack, Hathras, Rohru, Udaipur, Bhavnagar, Jhansi, Thrissur, Beed, Hyderabad, Mysore, and Contai. These initiatives focused on educating youth about responsible road behavior and safe riding practices. Further reinforcing its efforts, HMSI marked the 9th anniversary of its Traffic Training Park (TTP) in Ludhiana, a key center for promoting traffic discipline and rider safety in the region.

CSR: Honda India Foundation (HIF) advanced its commitment to youth empowerment and digital education with the continuation of the Mizoram chapter of Project Buniyaad – Aathmanirbharta Ka Aadhaar, launched at the Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC) office in Aizawl. As part of this initiative, HIF also supported the enhancement of MYC’s digital learning infrastructure. Expanding its footprint, HIF signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Directorate of Craftsmanship Training & Scheme (DCTSE), Skill Development Department (SDD), Government of Sikkim. This MoU marks the beginning of Project Buniyaad in Sikkim, under the World Bank-supported Sikkim INSPIRES Program, furthering HIF’s mission to build foundational skills for self-reliance.

Kavin Quintal and Johann Reeves finished Race 1 at 15th & 24th position and Race 2 at 31st and 25th position, respectively, in Asia Production 250cc class.
