Tata Power Commissions Fast-Charging Station At Salem–Omalur Highway Junction

* New fast-charging facility strengthens EV access along key intercity routes in Tamil Nadu

Tata Power has commissioned a 60-kW DC fast-charging station at True Sai, an authorised Tata Motors showroom at the Salem–Omalur highway junction in Narasothipatti, expanding convenient EV charging access at a key transit point in Tamil Nadu.

Strategically located at the intersection of NH 44 and NH 544, the facility is well positioned to serve EV users travelling between Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Kerala, Tiruchirappalli and Madurai. Its highway-facing location allows travellers to charge their vehicles without making a significant detour into the city, making it a convenient stop for intercity and long-distance journeys.

Equipped with dual-gun CCS-2 connectors, the station supports a broad range of compatible passenger and light commercial EVs. Its location within an authorised Tata Motors dealership offers drivers a secure and accessible environment while charging, with the surrounding highway area providing access to essential travel amenities.

The new facility is part of Tata Power’s EZ Charge network, which has scaled to over 6,700 public and captive charging points, 2.5 lakh+ home EV chargers and 1,200+ e-bus charging points, with a footprint spanning 700+ cities and towns nationwide. The expansion reflects Tata Power’s continued efforts to improve charging accessibility and support the growing adoption of electric mobility across urban and intercity travel routes.

EV users can locate the station, check real-time availability, and initiate charging sessions through the Tata Power EZ Charge mobile app or RFID cards, enabling a seamless charging experience for travellers on the move.
