For The First Time Ever, A Biscuit Becomes A Bullseye— Britannia Marie Gold Honours Two-Time Gold Medal Winner “Avani Lekhara”

* The story behind Britannia Marie Gold’s special edition pack shaped like the Paris Games shooting target

In an unprecedented tribute to sporting excellence and human triumph, Britannia Marie Gold, a brand forged in India's unwavering spirit, unveils the “Avani Lekhara Special Edition”, honoring India's first female-athlete to win gold at the Paris Games 2024 and Tokyo Games 2020 with a commemoration of historic magnitude. For the first time in its storied history, the brand has redesigned both its biscuit and packaging, reinforcing Britannia Marie Gold’s long-standing proposition of Do More. Be More.

Each Britannia Marie Gold biscuit in the pack has been meticulously reengineered, morphing itself to precisely mirror the dimensions of Avani's target from her triumphant performance at the Paris 2024 Games. Going one step further, every biscuit in the pack is also intricately etched with the exact position of Avani's historic winning shots. This redesign transcends mere tribute, allowing every Indian to comprehend the extraordinary skill required to strike a target of such diminutive proportions from a distance of 10 meters. The Avani Lekhara Special Edition stands as a testament to Britannia Marie Gold’s unwavering commitment to empower women for decades, making this initiative a national milestone— the first time an athlete of her accomplishment has been featured on the front of a biscuit pack, with Avani’s striking illustration taking center stage.

Avani, India's first female-athlete to win double gold at the Paris Games 2024 and Tokyo Games 2020, shared, “In shooting, perfection is measured in millimeters. I hope that by holding this biscuit, people understand the immense focus and precision it takes to win at the highest level. I’m honored that Britannia Marie Gold is celebrating this journey and inspiring young girls to aim high.”

Siddharth Gupta, General Manager, Marketing Britannia Industries, added, “Britannia Marie Gold has always stood for women’s empowerment, celebrating their resilience and ambition. Avani’s achievement exemplifies what Indian women can accomplish when given the right opportunities. This special edition is a tribute to her and to every woman striving to make history.”

Javaad Ahmed and Teresa Sebastian, Creatives at Talented, emphasized, “By transforming the very shape of Britannia Marie Gold, we aim to offer India a powerful, tangible way to appreciate Avani’s feat. This campaign not only celebrates a pioneering athlete and furthers intersectional feminism but also highlights the underrepresented sport of Air Rifle shooting.”

Tanvi Gandhi, Director at Little Button Films, remarked, “Avani doesn’t just break records—she breaks perceptions. Through the film and this campaign, our target was to make an invisible challenge visible, and we’re proud to create a film that does justice to air rifle shooting’s quiet dynamism and to the superstar/supergal that is Avani Lekhara.”

The Britannia Marie Gold Avani Lekhara’s Special Edition pack will be available on Swiggy Instamart starting 7 March across Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, delivered within 10 minutes—bringing history straight into the hands of millions.

Mudrex Reports 10X Rise In Women Crypto Investors For 2024-25

* Metro Cities and Tier-1 Urban Centers Drive 75% of Female Crypto Adoption

Mudrex, a leading crypto investment platform in India, has reported a remarkable 10X increase in women investors in 2024-2025 compared to the previous year. The findings, revealed through a recent survey conducted ahead of International Women’s Day, highlight the growing participation of women in India’s crypto ecosystem.

According to Mudrex’s data, women aged 25-30 make up the largest segment of female investors, accounting for 53% of the total. They are followed by women aged 31-35 (36%), while younger investors aged 18-24 represent 11% of the user base.

Maharashtra leads in female crypto adoption, contributing 15% of the total women investor base. Karnataka follows with 11%, while Delhi NCR (9%) and Uttar Pradesh (8%) also show strong participation. West Bengal accounts for 7%, with the remaining 50% of women investors spread across states like Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and others—demonstrating the nationwide appeal of crypto investments. While the crypto market remains largely male-dominated, there is a noticeable steady uptick in female investors, yet making significant strides in the space.

Over 75% of women investors are from metro and Tier-1 cities, while 25% are from small cities, highlighting greater awareness in metros and a rising adoption trend in smaller cities. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin and Solana have emerged as the most popular investment choices among female investors, reflecting their preference for established assets. Additionally, meme coins like Dogecoin, Shiba Inu and Pepe are gaining traction, signalling an increasing interest in trending meme coins.

Commenting on this, Mr Edul Patel, CEO & Co-founder of Mudrex said, "The crypto and Web3 space is evolving rapidly, and more women are stepping in to shape its future. At Mudrex, we believe that knowledge is key to building confidence in investing. Through the LearnWithMudrex initiative, we aim to simplify crypto education and help more women navigate this space with ease”.

65% of women traded on individual coins, while 45% chose to invest in Coin Sets (themed basket of tokens). This indicates that while a majority of women are actively trading specific coins, a significant portion also values diversified, structured investment options. The insight could reflect a balance between risk-taking and risk management among women investors in crypto.

62% of women discuss financial decisions with their family and social circle, while 38% make their own decisions. Additionally, 33% of women learnt about crypto from news, 40% from social channels, and the remaining 27% from other sources.

“Beyond investing, many women are also looking to build careers in Web3. To support them, our  women's team runs mentorship programs offering career guidance and industry insights. Creating an inclusive environment isn’t just about representation—it’s about fostering innovation and new perspectives that strengthen the entire ecosystem”, added Mr Alankar Saxena, Co-founder & CTO of Mudrex.

The survey revealed women on Mudrex’s platform invest in crypto for various reasons, including personal financial goals, wealth diversification, early retirement planning, and a strong interest in technology.

However, Mudrex also identified key barriers preventing some women from making transactions after completing KYC verification. Concerns about crypto market volatility, uncertainty over which coins to invest in and how much to invest, and a lack of financial awareness around emerging asset classes are the most common challenges.

About Mudrex

Launched in 2018, Mudrex’s vision is to make crypto accessible to the masses, enabling everyday investors to benefit from the massive wave of wealth creation. Mudrex holds VASP (Virtual Asset Service Provider) registration in India and Europe and OAM (Organismo Agenti e Mediatori) registration in Italy.
