Zee Business ‘Aapki Khabar, Aapka Fayda’ Show Reveals The Truth On Bournvita Controversy

Health Experts discussed Bournvita Controversy and facts about Nutrient-based claims on Zee Business ‘Aapki Khabar, Aapka Fayda’

Bournvita – One of the most common ‘healthy’ chocolate health drink, hit the news headlines in the week gone by, raising questions in the consumers’ minds on reconsidering their purchasing decisions on such health drinks.

Revant Himatsingka, an Instagram influencer claimed that Cadbury's Bournvita contains high sugar content in a viral video. The influencer said Bournvita's tagline "Taiyari Jeet Ki" (preparation for victory) should be ‘Taiyari Diabetes Ki’ (preparation for diabetes) due to its high sugar content. Scientist and Nutrition specialist Dr. Abby Philips supported this claim and listed research papers in this defense on TheLiverDoc @theliverdr. The viral video and scientist’s claim further resulted in damaging the brand’s reputation.

To this. Mondelez International issued an official statement claiming that ‘All Ingredients in Bournvita are safe and within permissible limits as per the regulatory guideline’. However, the influencer deleted the video after receiving a legal notice on the same.

To investigate this controversial matter on powdered products further, Zee Business’ prime time show ‘Aapki Khabar, Aapka Fayda’ , invited a panel of health experts -Dr. Jagruti Sanghvi (Sr. Pediatrician, Nanavati Max Hospital) Dr. Swati Maheshwari (Sr. Physician), and Dr. Shweta Khandelwal (Head- Nutrition Research, PHFI). The panel discussion moderated by Deepak Dobhal, Senior Anchor, Zee Business, discussed facts about natural sugar, added sugars, the claim of ‘clinically proven’ claims by powdered products, responsible parenting etc. This spread awareness among widespread viewers on the importance of reading and understanding the nutrient value of each of the ingredients printed on each of the neatly packed products.

The emphasis on awareness among consumers and policy implementation resulted in FSSAI taking note of Zee Business and other media reports about Bournvita; to take strict action against violators. It reiterated that the mandate of FSSAI is to lay down science-based standards for food products in the country and enforce the same.

FSSAI said that if the companies fail to toe the guidelines, they will be fined heavily. The regulatory body also claimed that strict action will be taken against violators and said "Where a claimed health benefit is attributed directly to the product, it shall be based on statistically significant results from well-designed human intervention studies, conducted by or under the guidance of established research institutions, in line with the principles of GCP (Good Clinical Practices) and peer-reviewed or published in a peer-reviewed reputed scientific journal. To ensure compliance with the said provisions the Licensing-cum-Designated Officers notified both at the Central and State levels are empowered to call upon the FBOs to submit scientific evidence for such health claims being made on the products, failing which or in case of unsatisfactory response the FBO is required to withdraw such claims or modify them as per the provisions of the said Regulations failing which the FBO can be penalized with a fine extending up to Rs.10 lakhs, as per Section-53 of the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006, apart from other stringent punishments like suspension/cancellation of license etc. in case of repeated offenses.”

Highlighting the far-fetched impact of the investigative stance, Anil Singhvi, Managing Editor, Zee Business said, “We, at Zee Business, strongly believe in responsible journalism. Investigating controversies and presenting factual information in shows like ’Aapki Khabar, Aapka Fayda’, ensuring that unfiltered information reaches the Indian households on a timely basis. The latest decision taken by FSSAI post the truth revealed by our investigative team, encourages us to break such controversial chains and continue presenting facts to our viewers The decision on what makes ‘news’ and the need to investigate specific controversial topics across different beats, is taken based on the impact of the ongoing topics and its impact of it on living standards. ”

ManageEngine Launches MSSP Edition Of Its Cloud-Hosted SIEM Solution

* The company aims to help service providers tackle business challenges and increase their profit margins

* Gain advanced security and compliance management capabilities with hassle-free cloud adoption

* Manage multiple customers while offering data security, high performance, fast deployment, and role-based access controls (RBACs)

ManageEngine, the enterprise IT management division of Zoho Corporation, today announced the launch of the MSSP (Managed Security Service Provider) edition of its cloud-based Security information and event management (SIEM) solution - Log360 Cloud. The solution will be showcased at the RSA Conference in San Francisco from April 24-27, 2023.

According to a recent ManageEngine study, organizations are currently facing a shortage of cybersecurity staff. With budgeting constraints and the current economic situation, addressing security challenges and moving to a higher security maturity level is difficult for enterprises. Furthermore, organizations are finding that the overall cost of deploying and managing security solutions, including SIEM solutions, is higher than the price of managed security services. Due to these factors, more and more enterprises are looking to MSSPs for their security needs.

However, MSSPs also face specific business challenges, such as managing the security of their clients without compromising on data segregation, optimizing resource utilization and maintenance costs to increase their profit margins.

"The MSSP market is set for expansion, but MSSPs have to assure their clients that data segregation and security are ensured continually. This requires additional investments in the appropriate technology, hardware, and personnel, reducing the profit margins of MSSPs," said Manikandan Thangaraj, Vice President of ManageEngine.

The MSSP Edition of Log360 Cloud is designed to address the unique business challenges of MSSPs and thereby drive up their profit margins.

"Leveraging the advantages of cloud deployment, MSSPs can ensure data segregation and security with no additional effort. Log360 Cloud also offers multi-tenancy; RBACs in addition to security analytics; and incident management and threat detection, investigation, and response (TDIR) features, making it the perfect fit to address the requirements of MSSPs," said Thangaraj.

Log360 Cloud's MSSP Edition offers the following capabilities:

Data segregation with multi-tenancy: Log360 Cloud's MSSP Edition offers ways to seamlessly manage multiple customer profiles from a single console without compromising data security. Each customer's data is logically separated from that of the others using a set of secure protocols in the framework.

Commitments to data security: The data of MSSPs and their customers are securely stored in the cloud and encrypted at rest and in transit. Also, Log360 Cloud is compliant with the GDPR, the CSA STAR, CLOUD 714132 ISO/IEC 27017, and more, thus ensuring continuous monitoring to secure customers' data.

Guaranteed around-the-clock availability of services: Log360 Cloud is hosted on Zoho's cloud infrastructure and follows Zoho's operational security protocols, ensuring high availability, resilience, and business continuity.

Role-based access controls (RBACs): Addressing the stricter restrictions of who can view which customer's data, Log360 Cloud's MSSP Edition also offers RBACs that allow each of the MSSP's security analysts to view the information of only a specific customer.

High-end security features: Log360 Cloud's capabilities cover extensive auditing and reporting, forensic analysis, TDIR, compliance management, security analytics, and cloud security.

Performance unaffected by granular retention configurations: Log360 Cloud offers flexible pricing, allowing MSSPs to choose granular data retention policies and storage space allocation for each customer. Thus, MSSPs can save a lot on resource utilization and log storage costs.

A fast time to value with quick deployment: SIEM services are notorious for taking months to deploy and demonstrate value. With a simple sign-up process, preconfigured modules, and simple enablement procedures, Log360 Cloud quickly fulfills the deployment, configuration, and resource management requirements of customers.

About Log360 Cloud

ManageEngine Log360 Cloud, a unified cloud SIEM solution with integrated CASB capabilities, helps enterprises secure their network from cyberattacks. With its security analytics, threat intelligence, and incident management capabilities, Log360 Cloud helps security analysts spot, prioritize, and resolve threats in both on-premises and cloud environments. India’s Non-Tech Sector To Hire Over 1 Million Tech Professionals By FY 2027-28

~ Surge in employment across six prominent non-tech industries ~

TeamLease Digital, the specialized staffing division of TeamLease Services launched their “Digital People Supply Chain Report - Tech in Non-Tech” for H1-2024, a detailed report which addresses the widespread demand for tech talent beyond the technology sector. According to the report, at a fast-growing 7.53% CAGR, industries that are primarily in the non-tech sector, such as BFSI and consulting, Communication media and technology, Retail and consumer business, Life sciences and healthcare, Engineering research and development (ER&D) and Energy and resources, are set to employ over 1 million (11.15 lakh) tech talent by FY 2027-28. Currently, these industries employ over 0.7 million (7.65 lakh) tech professionals.

With data and analytics driving major business growth decisions, there is a growing need for non-technology sectors to build tech-enabled infrastructures to enhance their product and service experience. Currently, BFSI and Consulting employ an estimated of 2 lakh tech talent, followed by retail and consumer business (1.85 lakhs), Engineering Research and Development (1.43 lakhs), Life Sciences and Healthcare (1.05 lakhs), Communications Media and Technology (0.9 lakhs) and Energy and Resources (0.42 lakhs).  Retail and Consumer businesses is projected to grow at the fastest pace by FY 2027, employing 2.9 lakhs tech professionals, followed by BFSI and Consulting (2.75 lakhs), Engineering Research and Development (1.90 lakhs), Life Sciences and Healthcare (1.55 lakhs), Communications Media and Technology (1.40 lakhs) and Energy and Resources (0.65 lakhs).

Sharing insights about the ecosystem, Mr. Sunil C, Chief Executive Officer, TeamLease Digital, said, “The confluence of technology has made its way to almost every sector globally. With the current 5G rollout, the ever-dynamic digital payments sector, growing new economy businesses, and the manufacturing of electric vehicles dominating the auto market share, digital transformation is critical for all enterprises. This massive digitization has created a demand for tech talent in non-tech sectors. 1 million tech professionals by FY 2027-28 is a testament to the growing stature of tech jobs in non-tech industries”.

“While there is a surge in jobs, the dearth of skilled talent continues to be a challenge for the industry. Beyond tech hiring, organizations need to invest in broad tech upskilling and lay the foundation for a skill based talent management system. Surprisingly, currently in the non-tech sector, the majority of hiring is still not on permanent payrolls. Although 54% of employers engage in a permanent workforce, a substantial 30% engage in mixed contracts, and another 16% engage in contractual hiring. These modes allow the companies to have a flexible policy to scale and cut down hiring costs based on needs and seasonality”, added Ms Munira Loliwala, Business Head - Specialized Staffing, TeamLease Digital, addressing the demand-supply gap for tech talent in non-tech sectors.

From a location and salary perspective, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Gurgaon remain the sweet spots. 27% of all popular tech roles are being paid highest in Bengaluru followed by Hyderabad at 16% and Delhi and Pune at 13%.

From a popular job role perspective, Data Engineer, Business Analyst and Solutions Architect remain top roles in BFSI and Consulting; UI/ UX Designer, Fullstack Developer, Game Developer in Communication Media and Technology (CMT); Graphic Designer, Data Scientist and Fullstack Developer in Retail and Consumer Business; Data Scientist, Java Developer and QA Engineer in Life Sciences and Healthcare, Embedded Software Engineer, CAD Engineer and Automation Engineer in Engineering Research & Development (ER&D) and Big Data Analyst, IT Infrastructure Engineer and Software Developer in the Energy and Resources sector.

Across levels, expertise in cloud-based services, robotic automation transformation, and artificial intelligence will be in vogue. At the entry-level, employers seek proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, basic knowledge of programming languages (HTML and CSS), and experience with content management systems. Intermediate experience levels demand skills and experience with advanced programming languages (Python and Java), data analysis, visualization tools, and cloud computing platforms. And for the senior level, there will be demand for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain cybersecurity skill sets.

As technology integration across businesses rises, so are the women in STEM-leading tech roles. Out of 5 million, close to 1.8 million are women. Globally, India ranks second with 4 million female online learners enrolled in STEM courses such as Computer Programming, Web Development, Analytics, AI and ML, Cybersecurity and User Experience.

The “Digital People Supply Chain Report - Tech in Non-Tech” is a comprehensive qualitative analysis of tech talent landscape in India in the non-tech sector, which has interviewed 700+ employers across 9 cities. The survey highlights employment trends across six units - BFSI and Consulting, Communication Media and Technology, Retail and Consumer Business, Life Sciences and Healthcare, Engineering Research and Development, and Energy and Resources.
