88% Of Bengaluru Gated Communities To Ramp Up Green Infra Within 3 Years: MyGate Survey

* Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure is key priority, with 40.6% keen to invest in coming 12 months and 36.8% in the coming three years

Green living is no longer a buzzword, reveals a survey by MyGate, which indicates that 88% of gated communities in Bengaluru are planning to ramp up their green infrastructure facilities in the next three years. MyGate, the largest community management app in India, conducted a survey of resident welfare associations (RWAs) to understand the pulse of gated communities towards electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure facilities, solar power and rainwater harvesting. Nearly 800 RWAs participated in the survey of which more than 300+ were from Bengaluru. Of the three, EVs are clearly a priority area, with solar not far behind; on the other hand, nearly two in three communities had already set up rainwater harvesting facilities.

As per the findings, a large majority (77.4%) of gated communities in Bengaluru are planning to install EV charging infrastructure within the next 0-3 years. Of these, 40.6% are aiming to set up the facility within the next 12 months and 36.8% plan to do so in 1-3 years. Interestingly, 7.5% had already installed such infrastructure.

The enthusiasm is not restricted to EV charging infrastructure. Solar infrastructure is also on the minds of RWAs, with 74% of respondents indicating that they intend on installing solar energy infrastructure within three years. However, unlike with EV charging, a greater proportion of communities are looking at a 1-3 year timeline (35.4%), rather than 0-12 month timeline (33.3%); just 5.1% of communities had already invested in solar power (5.1%) infrastructure.

There also remains interest in setting up rainwater harvesting facilities in gated communities, though 65.3% of communities had already set this up. Nonetheless, 23.5% of communities are planning investment in rainwater harvesting in the next 12 months, with 6.1% and 5.1% indicating that they would get it done in 1-3 years and 3-5 years, respectively.

Commenting on the insights, Mr. Abhishek Kumar, COO & Co-founder, MyGate said, “It is encouraging to learn of the scale at which gated communities are looking to invest in and adopt green infrastructure. At MyGate, we would be glad to use our expertise and create a bridge or assist communities to achieve their green goals, as we have already begun doing in the EV space.”

Respondents to the survey represent gated communities across Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune, and overall results show that the eagerness to go green is a national phenomenon. 88.6% of gated communities across the country expressed an intent to install one of the three major green infrastructure facilities in the near term (0-3 years). 0.6% of the communities surveyed had all three installed.

Across India, 75.4% of gated communities are looking to install EV charging units within the next three years. Similarly, the number of respondents who are keen on setting up solar energy in the next three years is also as high as 75.2%. While close to 53% have already implemented rain water harvesting it is still a key priority when it comes to infrastructure upgradation. Around 38.9% of gated communities are planning to invest in setting up rainwater harvesting within the next three years. While Mumbai (78% of gated communities) is leading with regard to installation of EV infrastructure facilities in the next three years, it is Pune (76.3%) that tops the charts when it comes to solar infrastructure.

Honeywell Technology Supports Decarbonization Of Buildings With Danfoss Ultra-Low-Global-Warming-Potential Scroll Compressors

* Honeywell Solstice ze (R-1234ze) and Solstice N15 (R-515B) power company’s new DSG compressor range for heating and cooling applications

 * New compressors increase energy-efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and operating costs

Honeywell today announced its Solstice technology is supporting a new range of ultra-low global warming potential (GWP) scroll compressors designed and manufactured by Danfoss for heating and cooling applications. The new compressors deliver improved energy efficiency over models based on R-410A, while offering the same cooling capacity and similar footprint.

Danfoss, a leading manufacturer of heating, cooling and refrigeration solutions, will use Honeywell’s Solstice® ze (R-1234ze) and Solstice refrigerant® N15 (R-515B) refrigerants in its new DSG scroll compressor range for chiller and heat pumps used in commercial buildings, industrial processes, data centers and district heating/cooling applications. The compressor range will be available in Q2 2022, and will allow chiller and heat pump manufacturers to stay compliant with regulations requiring the phasedown of higher-GWP hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).

With a GWP of less than 1, Solstice ze is 99.9 percent lower than R-410A and other HFCs. Solstice N15 (R-515B), a non-flammable, low-GWP solution, has a GWP lower than 300 and provides higher energy efficiency in the DSG compressor range than the R-410A models. Both refrigerants are based on Honeywell’s hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) technology.

The DSG compressors are specifically designed for medium pressure chillers to cool large buildings, infrastructure projects, district cooling/heating, and other applications. With this new compressor technology, the use of R-1234ze and R-515B will have the possibility to expand into OEM’s scroll chiller platforms

“Danfoss’ new DSG scroll compressors represent an industry breakthrough on a number of fronts, and allow customers to meet the most stringent sustainability, performance and safety targets,” said Ken West, vice president and general manager, Honeywell Fluorine Products. “Compared with R-410A-based solutions, the R-1234ze models tick three critical boxes where no other solution exists today: near carbon neutrality, high performance, and safety. Meanwhile, the R-515B models provide the only low GWP, non-flammable alternative to R-410A ideal for indoor applications.”

Multiple worldwide regulations require the phasedown of hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) solutions under the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol. In the U.S., the scroll compressor technology using Solstice ze and Solstice N15 will be a vital solution for manufacturers seeking lower-GWP alternatives in commercial buildings, data centers and process cooling applications. As the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administers the HFC phasedown, it will also consider promulgation of sector-specific HFC prohibitions to effectively limit GWP of products used in end applications including residential air conditioning, light commercial air conditioning, and chillers.

Honeywell is a world leader in the development, manufacture and supply of refrigerants that are sold worldwide under the Solstice® and Genetron® brand names for a range of applications, including refrigeration and building and automobile air conditioning. Honeywell and its suppliers have completed a  billion dollar investment program in research and development and new capacity based on Honeywell’s hydrofluorolefin technology. Worldwide adoption of Solstice products has avoided potential release of more than 250 million metric tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, equal to eliminating the potential emissions from more than 52 million cars per year.

Honeywell recently committed to achieve carbon neutrality in its operations and facilities by 2035. This commitment builds on the company’s track record of sharply reducing the greenhouse gas intensity of its operations and facilities as well as its decades-long history of innovation to help its customers meet their environmental and social goals. About half of Honeywell’s new product introduction research and development investment is directed toward products that improve environmental and social outcomes for customers.

Honeywell (www.honeywell.com) is a Fortune 100 technology company that delivers industry specific solutions that include aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings and industry; and performance materials globally. Our technologies help everything from aircraft, buildings, manufacturing plants, supply chains, and workers become more connected to make our world smarter, safer, and more sustainable.  For more news and information on Honeywell, please visit www.honeywell.com/newsroom.

* With the launch of Hindi, LinkedIn is now available in 25 languages globally

LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network, today marked a new milestone with the launch of Hindi, the first Indian regional language on LinkedIn, with the goal to support 600 million Hindi language speakers globally. With this launch, LinkedIn aims to break down language barriers, providing greater access to professional and networking opportunities to Hindi speakers in India and around the world. With the launch of Hindi, LinkedIn now supports 25 languages globally.

Starting today, as part of the Phase 1 roll-out of LinkedIn in Hindi, members will be able to access their feed, profile, jobs, messaging, and create content in Hindi on desktop, and on their Android and iOS phones. As the next step, LinkedIn will work towards widening the range of job opportunities available for Hindi speaking professionals across industries, including more banking, and government jobs. The platform will also continue to add more Hindi publishers and creators in the coming weeks to boost member engagement and conversations in Hindi.

India is a core market for growth at LinkedIn and the second largest market in terms of members after the US, accounting for 82 million members as part of a global community of 800 million members. India’s member base has grown by 20+ million in the past three years (15% year-over-year growth) and it has witnessed a spike in engagement and conversations on the platform since the pandemic.

“In India, LinkedIn has been mission critical to helping people connect, learn, grow and get hired during the pandemic and in this new world of work we are in. With the launch of Hindi, now more members and customers can unlock greater value from the platform through content, jobs, and networking, and express themselves in a language that they feel comfortable in.

We have witnessed high engagement and member growth in the last year, and it is at this exciting inflection point that we are strengthening our vision to create economic opportunity for ‘every’ member of the workforce, and taking down language barriers for Hindi speakers across the world,” says Ashutosh Gupta, India Country Manager, LinkedIn.

How to use LinkedIn, and set up your profile, in Hindi

Smartphone users will need to select Hindi as their preferred device language under phone settings to view the LinkedIn mobile application in Hindi. For members who are already using Hindi as their preferred language on their smartphones, the LinkedIn experience will automatically be available in Hindi. On desktop, members will need to click on the ‘Me’ icon at the top of their LinkedIn homepage and select ‘Settings and Privacy’. Members then need to click on ‘Account Preferences’ on the left, select ‘Site Preferences’, click ‘Change’ next to ‘Language’, and select ‘Hindi’ from the drop down list.

Once selected, the user interface and platform experience, including the navigation bar, will be displayed in Hindi, to help members quickly and easily locate features they are looking for. User-generated content, such as posts on a member’s home feed, will be displayed in the language that they were originally created in. However, for members whose primary language selection is set to Hindi, clicking on ‘See Translation’ option will display Hindi translations of the respective posts. If members are not already using a Hindi keyboard, to create Hindi content on LinkedIn, they will need to switch their keyboard input language to Hindi, or add the Hindi keyboard on their desktop or smartphone.

With the launch of Hindi, members also have the advantage of creating their LinkedIn profile in Hindi, and make it easier for Hindi speaking members and recruiters to find them for relevant opportunities. New LinkedIn members can sign up for LinkedIn in Hindi by visiting LinkedIn.com and registering for a new account. Members with existing English profiles can add a second language profile in Hindi. Adding a second language profile is currently only available on Desktop. To create a second language profile, members will need to click on the “Me” icon, followed by “View Profile”, and then “Add profile in another language”.

To display their existing profile in Hindi, members will need to create a secondary language profile in the same language as their existing profile. This will prompt them to choose a preferred language for their existing profile from a drop down list of 25 languages, which now includes Hindi.

The launch of LinkedIn in Hindi saw LinkedIn Influencers such as international life coach Gaur Gopal Das, monk-turned-entrepreneur Dr. Vivek Bindra, and nearbuy.com founder Ankur Warikoo share their first Hindi posts on their LinkedIn profiles.

The launch of Hindi is part of LinkedIn's vision to become a more equitable platform, and to allow more diverse professional communities to unlock greater value from LinkedIn. Other global initiatives include Project Every Member and the LinkedIn Fairness Toolkit that build equality into LinkedIn’s products and remove systemic biases and barriers to opportunity.

Juniper Networks Accelerates Partner Profitability With New Elite Partner Tier, Program Enhancements

* Juniper Partner Advantage 2022 introduces new Elite Plus partner level, strengthens partner communities and empowers experience-led sales engagements

Juniper Networks, a leader in secure, AI-driven networks, today announced new enhancements to the global Juniper Partner Advantage Program (JPA). Starting January 2022, a new top-tier level of the partner program will be introduced, and a modernized engagement platform that embraces a collaborative sales approach. The JPA 2022 program updates also deliver an enriched learning experience to enable partners to quickly expand their knowledge of Juniper and maximize their business growth opportunities.

As the past year has demonstrated, networks are more important than ever before. Network operators are faced with the dual challenge of an increasingly complex environment combined with the requirement to create the best possible user experience. Juniper Networks’ commitment to Experience-First Networking extends beyond innovative technologies to encompass all aspects of the organization. This experience-driven mindset extends to the partner program and its new collaborative focus, which will lead to stronger engagement and increased opportunity for Juniper partners.

JPA 2022 builds on the investments made in recent years with the acquisition of Mist Technologies, 128 Technology, Apstra and Netrounds, which contributed to record growth across all partner segments. New enhancements to the partner engagement platform, including expanded Champions communities for technical and sales roles, virtual workspaces for Juniper and partner sales collaboration, increased seller rewards and a new elite partner tier set the stage for continued growth.

“Juniper Networks is a partner-centric company, and the investments we’ve made in the program for 2022 will accelerate our strong partnerships and continue us all on the path of hyper-growth,” said Gordon Mackintosh, Vice President of Global Channel & Virtual Sales at Juniper Networks. “We believe our acquisition strategy and innovations have created the most compelling portfolio of networking solutions available today. By bringing that spirit of innovation into the partner program, with a new elite tier and enhanced community, we plan to see rapid growth and expansion next year and beyond.”

Additional program highlights include:

A New Top Partner Level – Elite Plus: Juniper’s most dedicated partners can now qualify for a new top-tier in the partner program – Elite Plus. This new partner level offers superior support, investment and rewards, along with dedicated business development and demand generation resources.

Partner Communities: Expanded Champions program adds role-based journeys for both technical and sales professionals. Partners will gain access to continuous learning, virtual selling tools, a Communities forum, and collaborative workspaces, along with digital badges and rewards to recognize success, as well as access to demo platforms and events.

Virtual Sales Pods: Collaboration between Juniper and partners is critical to success. New virtual sales pods create a shared workspace for partners and Juniper experts to communicate in real-time on account plans, ongoing sales efforts and more, leading to faster sales cycles and enhanced conversion rates.

New Learning Academy Platform: In support of Communities and collaborative sales efforts, the Learning Academy will serve as a resource for new content and webinars to drive partner education and accelerate success.

Incentive Rewards: Building on the strong investment strategy from 2021, we will reward partners for partner-led and new opportunity deal registration, while providing boosters on software and for our Elite Plus partners.

“I’ve completed pre-sales network and security engineering programs throughout my career with all major networking manufacturers. Juniper has always been the gold standard, and this announcement raises the bar even further by recognizing the achievements of the technical community,” said Carl Lamendola, Network and Security Engineer, Mainline Information Systems.
