Nielsen Accelerates Streaming Data Delivery With Enhancements To Streaming Content Ratings

Enabling the Real-Time Enterprise with Data Streaming | TDWI
* Streaming Content Ratings (SCR) Data Shifts to Daily Delivery Cadence, Mirroring Linear TV Data Availability

*  Nielsen Also Accelerates Streaming Top 10 Reporting by Two Weeks

Nielsen has announced significant enhancements to its Streaming Content Ratings (SCR) product, which accelerates data deliveries from a once-weekly reporting cadence to a daily cadence. Clients can now access viewership insights faster, enabling more timely strategic decision-making in an increasingly competitive media landscape.

With this update, Nielsen has reduced SCR data delivery time by up to 80%. Clients now receive data, delivered each business day, for viewing that occurred two days prior. This acceleration aligns streaming insights with the reporting speed of linear TV, providing a much more unified measurement narrative.

“While Nielsen has made a number of material improvements to streaming measurement over the years that have broadened and deepened platform and program coverage, this may be the most significant enhancement to Streaming Content Ratings since its launch in 2017,” said Brian Fuhrer, Senior Vice President, Product Strategy and Thought Leadership. “As the speed of change across the media landscape increases, providing our clients with more immediate, up-to-date audience data helps them keep pace with the consumer.”

In addition to daily SCR data for clients, the product enhancements also allow Nielsen to accelerate the delivery of its weekly Streaming Top 10 reports, cutting the reporting delay in half. Nielsen expects to publish its first accelerated Top 10 on September 17, 2026, reporting the 08/31/26 – 09/06/26 measurement interval.

These latest enhancements build on Nielsen’s ongoing commitment to providing the marketplace with unrivaled, comprehensive audience insights across the media landscape. In recent years, Nielsen has made significant advancements to expand its audience measurement capabilities. Recent innovations include: National TV measurement enhancements featuring expanded co-viewing insights; broad marketplace adoption of Big Data + Panel measurement in 2025; first-party data integrations powering live streaming measurement; and a nationwide expansion of out-of-home measurement. Nielsen also continues to serve as the industry standard for streaming intelligence through essential industry benchmarks including The Gauge and the weekly Streaming Top 10 rankings.

Exponent Energy Captures 20% Of The City’s EV 3-Wheeler Market

* Completes 200 EV Retrofits Of ICE Autorickshaws In Bengaluru

* Exponent Energy celebrates the OTO driver community at its Bengaluru facility, marking this milestone in the OTO retrofit journey

Exponent Energy, a Bengaluru-based energy company, has completed 200 EV retrofits of ICE autorickshaws in Bengaluru as part of a four-month pilot through its Exponent OTO platform, as it aims to expand its retrofitment offering across key cities in India.

In just one city, the retrofitted vehicles have covered 1.5Mn+ km and completed 25,000+ charging sessions so far, offering a real-world proof point for the use of EV retrofits in intensive commercial operations. The company has also captured a 20% share of the city’s e-3 wheeler market, reflecting growing demand for electric commercial mobility and Exponent’s rapid-charging technology.

Exponent OTO is Exponent's 3-wheeler mobility platform that brings together best-in-class battery technology, powertrain systems, and vehicle software to enable the electrification of both existing and new commercial 3-wheelers. For existing vehicles, OTO enables ICE 3-wheelers to be retrofitted to electric. For new vehicles, Exponent is now working with OEM partners to integrate their mobility platform into new electric 3-wheelers. The retrofit process can be completed in 24 hours, enabling a quick transition to electric with minimal disruption to drivers’ daily operations. OTO combines 15-minute 0-100% rapid charging with a 140-150 km real-world range and is backed by a 5-year or 3,000-cycle warranty, providing the performance and reliability required for intensive commercial use.

Commenting on the milestone, Ayush Bhargava, Head of Business, Exponent Energy, said, “The 200 retrofits in Bengaluru show that there is a real opportunity to electrify the vehicles already on the road, rather than waiting for them to be replaced. For drivers, the retrofit model offers a more accessible path to EVs while allowing them to continue with the vehicle and service ecosystem they already know. With each increasing kilometer being covered by these retrofit vehicles on road, we are assured that this can work in the real world.”

The path to electrification cannot be based on new vehicle sales alone. With India’s existing commercial vehicle base nearly 10x the new-vehicle market, electrifying vehicles already on the road will be critical to accelerating the transition while reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels and strengthening energy security.

This is particularly relevant for commercial 3-wheelers, which are used intensively every day. Retrofitting offers a practical pathway to bring these vehicles into the electric ecosystem without waiting for replacement, helping accelerate commercial electrification while reducing the upfront cost and disruption of switching to a new vehicle.

To address the upfront cost of this transition, Exponent ONE, Exponent Energy’s EV financing platform, enables financing for the OTO retrofit kit. By reducing the initial capital requirement, the platform is designed to make EV adoption more accessible to commercial drivers and support a stronger economic case for the transition.

Designed for the demands of commercial driving, OTO helps drivers minimise charging downtime and maximise time on the road. At the same time, its interoperability with standard public and home charging infrastructure gives drivers the flexibility to charge beyond the Exponent network. Since Exponent Energy’s founding in 2020, the company has scaled its technology across India, with 3,500+ EVs powered by Exponent, 200+ charging stations, 2Mn+ rapid charging sessions completed, and over 100Mn+ kilometers covered.

About Exponent Energy:

Exponent Energy, founded in 2020, is a Bengaluru-based full-stack energy company enabling safe and rapid charging for commercial EVs. The proprietary platform combines the battery pack, pump, and connector to deliver full charge in 15 minutes and a 3,000 cycle life warranty for EVs (a new industry standard). With a mission to make electric the better energy choice, Exponent’s stack seamlessly integrates to deliver a holistic charging ecosystem. Its technology, built on standard lithium-ion cells, is scalable and adaptable across multiple commercial vehicle categories.

Exponent has so far raised a total of $65.7 Million in Pre-series A, Series A and B led by Lightspeed, Eight Roads Ventures, TDK Ventures, 360 One, Hitachi Ventures (HV) Fund, YourNest VC, 3one4 Capital, AdvantEdge VC, and the family office of Dr. Pawan Munjal, Chairman & CEO of Hero MotoCorp.

SPARSH Hospitals Launches ‘Horn Don’t Maadi’ Campaign To Rethink Bengaluru’s Everyday Honking Habit

* World Heart Day 2026 Campaign Urges Bengaluru Motorists To Reduce Unnecessary Honking And Make Everyday Commutes Calmer

Bengaluru’s traffic may be slow, but the honking rarely stops. From traffic signals and bumper-to-bumper roads to moments when there is simply nowhere for vehicles to move, unnecessary honking has become part of the city’s daily commute. This World Heart Day, SPARSH Hospitals has launched ‘Horn Don’t Maadi’, a Bengaluru-focused campaign encouraging motorists to rethink habitual honking and its impact on everyday traffic stress and wellbeing.

The campaign is built around a simple thought: “Can honking move the traffic? If not, what is all this noise doing to us?” While the horn remains an important safety tool, ‘Horn Don’t Maadi’ aims to discourage unnecessary honking driven by frustration, impatience or habit.

The campaign was unveiled at a media briefing in Bengaluru, bringing together SPARSH Hospitals’ leadership and cardiovascular specialists to discuss the relationship between everyday traffic stress, noise and heart health.

“With ‘Horn Don’t Maadi’, we want to turn a familiar Bengaluru experience into a simple moment of awareness. The campaign is not about stopping necessary honking, but about encouraging people to pause and ask whether every honk is really needed. Small changes in everyday behaviour can contribute to a calmer and healthier environment,” said Dr. Sharan Shivaraj Patil, Founder, Chairman and Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon, SPARSH Group of Hospitals.

From a medical perspective, loud and unexpected noise can trigger the body's stress response, while repeated exposure to stressful environments can contribute to physiological stress over time. Chronic stress is one of several factors that can influence cardiovascular health.

“An occasional honk is not the concern. It is repeated exposure to unnecessary and stressful noise that can add to the body’s stress response. When these stressors are experienced repeatedly, they can contribute to chronic stress, which is one of several factors that influence cardiovascular health,” said Dr. (Prof) Ranjan Shetty, Lead Consultant, Cardiologist and Group Medical Director, SPARSH Hospitals.

As part of the campaign, SPARSH Hospitals will take ‘Horn Don’t Maadi’ to Bengaluru’s roads and communities through public sign-ups, hospital and community engagement, radio and social media interventions, street vox pops, interactive traffic polls and doctor-led conversations. The campaign will also feature influencer-led content under ‘Honk Not Okay Please’.

The initiative is not aimed at eliminating honking from Bengaluru’s roads. Instead, SPARSH Hospitals hopes to make unnecessary and habitual honking less normalised, while reinforcing that the horn should be used whenever safety requires it.

Through ‘Horn Don’t Maadi’, SPARSH Hospitals aims to turn a familiar Bengaluru frustration into a public conversation around mindful commuting, everyday stress and heart health.

Use the horn when safety requires it, not as a default response to traffic.

As key DPDP Compliance Milestones Approach, 250 Founders And 35 Investors Gather In Bengaluru

* To Make Privacy A Growth Strategy
* The DPDP Zone summit drew 350 attendees, including 250 founders, while 15 startups pitched at an invite-only Demo Session.

DPDP Zone’s Privacy by Design 2026: Winning in the Era of AI, Security & Digital Trust brought together 350 attendees at Radisson Blu Atria, Bengaluru, eight weeks before the provisions governing Consent Managers under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Rules take effect on 13 November 2026. The gathering included 250 founders and 35 investors and fund representatives, supported by an ecosystem of more than 40 partner organisations.

With substantive provisions of the Act scheduled for enforcement from 13 May 2027, the full-day gathering convened founders, investors, incubators, enterprise leaders, legal experts, cybersecurity practitioners and AI professionals to examine how privacy, security and responsible data practices can become part of building and scaling a business, rather than a last-minute compliance exercise. The focus was on what readiness means in practical terms: product decisions, enterprise sales, customer trust, data practices and fundraising.

Opening the event, Sharath Shyamasunder, Founder and CEO of DPDP Zone and The Startup Zone, said, “Privacy, security and trust can no longer wait. Because waiting is always expensive.”

He challenged the frequently used comparison between data and oil. “Data isn’t oil. Data is us,” he said. “Behind every data point is a person, a customer, an employee, a founder, a child, a family. Privacy is not just about protecting data. It is about protecting people.”

The 35 investors present represented funds ranging from pre-seed to growth, including Bessemer Venture Partners, Kalaari Capital, Blume Ventures, Chiratae Ventures, Inflection Point Ventures, Campus Fund and Venture Catalysts.

A separate, invite-only Demo Session saw 15 startups pitch directly to those investors, creating a practical bridge between founder readiness, governance and access to capital.

Shyamasunder also urged founders to see privacy readiness as a business advantage. “The security and privacy questionnaire arrives before the first meeting with your enterprise client or a VC,” he said. “DPDP could be the GST moment for data privacy. Organisations that adapted early did not just survive. They got faster.”

The programme featured four technical sessions and four panel discussions, covering privacy by design, responsible AI, cybersecurity, founder trust and the role of governance in fundraising.

Dr. Ricky Jha, Founder and CEO of Zerogrey Global and Data Protection Officer at Course5i, led a session on Design by Privacy: The Mirrored Mindset. Archana Moturi, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at Assurtiv, addressed responsible AI as a competitive advantage for startups. Shamsheer Khan, Chief Security Officer at fnCyber, spoke on cybersecurity as a growth strategy, while Antra Ahuja of Saga Legal discussed the cost of getting privacy wrong, drawing on lessons from real cases.

Nayaz Ahmed, CEO of JAIN Launchpad, said, “Too often, founders see data protection as an afterthought. We need them to consider it from day one, not as a compliance challenge, but as a way to build trust with their customers.”

The day closed with extended networking across the founder, investor and partner ecosystem.

Privacy by Design 2026 was presented by title sponsors Assurtiv and The Startup Zone, with Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, Startup Karnataka and the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce as strategic partners. Over 40 organisations collaborated as an ecosystem to support the summit, spanning banking, cloud, media, community, and outreach sectors. A full list appears in the notes below.
