Delhi Witnesses Vishnu Sahasranama Kodi Archana: The Most Sacred Ritual In Vedic Tradition

The spiritual and cultural landscape of Delhi/NCR witnessed a historic event with the commencement of the most sacred rituals in Vedic tradition, Vishnu Sahasranama Kodi Archana. On the first day, more than 5000 devotees partake the event, 60+ priests chanted the thousand names of Lord Vishnu in accordance with the 27 stars and offered floral oblations to usher in prosperity, peace, divine protection, removal of obstacles, and spiritual growth.

This 27-day yajnam is being held at Uttara Guruvayurappan Temple, Mayur Vihar Phase 1, Delhi, organized by the governing body of Arsha Dharma Parishad under the guidance of Chief Priest Brahmasri Puliyannoor Anujan Narayanan Nambudiripad.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi conveyed his greetings, " It is especially heartening that a team of priests from Kerala will lead the chanting. These sacred chants will help guide everyone towards equanimity and peace. Equally significant is the lighting of one lakh diyas, symbolising the timeless prayer 'Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya', a divine prayer to take one from darkness to light. The glow of these lamps will create an atmosphere of divine positivity. Together, the chanting and the lighting of lamps embody the essence of our cultural heritage. They serve as living reminders of our roots, inspiring younger generations to remain connected with our shared traditions and values.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ramesh Nambiar, President of Arsha Dharma Parishad, said: "We are truly blessed to host such a prestigious event for the first time in Delhi. Vishnu Sahasranama Kodi Archana radiates spiritual energy that uplifts individuals and the environment around us. It is a celebration of faith, unity, and divine consciousness. Through this yajnam, devotees can experience our sacred tradition and enjoy various art and cultural events."

The 27-day program includes a rich array of art and cultural performances such as Kathakali, Swaralayaanubhavam, Veena Concert, Kathakali Pada Kacheri, Govinda Sangeetha Archana, Hindustani Music, Ashtapathi Spanam, Flute Concert, Solo Dance, and Poonthana Alapanam by renowned artists. Sustainability is ensured through the use of eco-friendly and bio-friendly materials including sandalwood paste, flowers, ghee, oil, cotton wicks, and cloth.

The 27-days prestigious yajnam will features over 1,500 priests chanting the thousand names of Lord Vishnu in accordance with the 27-star constellations and devotees can book any convenient day to have their names associated with specific stars, ensuring cumulative archanas are performed one crore times per star. Devotees may also benefit from several Sookthams performed in their names, including Sarvaiswaryam, Aikamathyam, Mangalyam, Ashtothram, Bhagyam, and more. Additionally, a Special Udayasthamana Pooja for Lord Vishnu can be conducted by the chief priest.

The yajnam will conclude on 2nd November 2025 with the Laksha Deeparchana, illuminating one lakh lamps around the temple. This traditional ritual embodies both aesthetic and spiritual grandeur, symbolizing devotion, reverence, and blessings for all participants.

IIT Guwahati’s Pioneering Mehta Family School Of Data Science And AI Marks Strong Debut With First Graduating Batch

The Mehta Family School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (MFSDS&AI) at IIT Guwahati has marked a major milestone with the graduation of its first-ever B.Tech in Data Science and AI cohort (2021–2025).

Launched in 2021 in partnership with the Mehta Family Foundation (MFF), the School was one of the first in the IIT system to introduce a dedicated undergraduate program in Data Science and AI well before the current global surge in artificial intelligence. Four years later, its graduates are entering an economy where AI skills are among the most sought-after worldwide.

According to IIT Guwahati’s official placement report, 91 percent of students in the first graduating batch secured offers. Out of 22 students, 20 were placed with leading recruiters, while two chose not to continue in the recruitment process. Recruiters included Warner Bros Discovery, Google, Microsoft, and more. One student will also pursue higher studies at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA.

Reflecting on the milestone, Professor Devendra Jalihal, Director of IIT Guwahati, said: “By introducing a B.Tech in Data Science and AI in 2021, we were ahead of the curve. The successful placement of our very first batch validates both the demand for these skills and the quality of the program we have built. Our graduates are entering this dynamic landscape equipped to make contributions of global significance.”

For Rahul Mehta, Founder of the Mehta Family Foundation, the outcome demonstrates the vision behind establishing the School: “This milestone marks a proud moment for all of us at MFF. The success of the inaugural graduating class is a testament to the dedication of IIT Guwahati’s faculty and the talent of its students. Our partnership to establish the School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence was built on a shared vision to empower the next generation of leaders in this transformative field. Seeing that vision come alive is truly gratifying.”

The students’ academic journey was built on a rigorous foundation in science and mathematics, enriched by interdisciplinary courses from computer science, engineering, and humanities, and further strengthened through specialized coursework in data science, AI, and their applications. They have gained practical exposure through summer internships, including one student taking an international assignment in Japan. The four-year curriculum included a one-year project component where students worked on cutting-edge problems such as deepfake detection, large language model automation, conversational AI, multimodal healthcare, federated learning, and robotics. Some of these works are either published or are in review for publication in peer-reviewed conferences and journals. Beyond placements, they have also excelled in Inter-IIT Tech Meets and national-level hackathons such as Kaggle Masters, JPMC Quant Challenge, Nobias Finance Investment Challenge, Amazon ML, Adobe Gensolve, and Citadel Terminal. Several students have also taken on leadership and other key roles across various student clubs at IIT Guwahati.

As Professor Ratnajit Bhattacharjee, Head of the School, explained: “Our pride lies in the diversity of outcomes. Some graduates are stepping into leadership-track roles in industry, while others are moving into advanced research. That flexibility shows the strength of the program in preparing adaptable, world-class problem solvers.”

This achievement is supported by a dedicated faculty pool of over 25 members, along with international advisors from institutions such as MIT, Purdue, UCSD, and the University of Oklahoma. Faculty research spans diverse areas including healthcare AI, sustainable finance, neuro-inspired computing, and audio, vision, text, and multimodal AI, with funding from agencies such as DST, DRDO, ISRO, ANRF, and the Indo-Dutch Merian Fund.

The School also offers M.Tech, Ph.D., and Online B.Sc. (Hons.) programs, drawing students from across India and abroad. With this first graduating batch, IIT Guwahati and the Mehta Family Foundation are advancing their vision of a global hub for AI education and research, positioned not as a follower of trends but as a pioneer.

Krabi, Siem Reap And Cebu Now Closer Than Ever For Indian Travellers

For Indian travellers, Southeast Asia continues to be a region filled with possibilities. Whether it is the pristine beaches of Thailand, the ancient temples of Cambodia or the island charm of the Philippines, each destination offers something unforgettable. Now, thanks to Malaysia Airlines and its sister airline under the Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), Firefly, travellers can combine two holidays in a single, seamless journey, without the long layovers or complex connections that once made multi-country travel a challenge.

Malaysia Airlines currently operates direct flights from ten Indian cities—Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Amritsar and Trivandrum into Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA Terminal 1). From there, Firefly connects you to exciting regional destinations such as Krabi, Siem Reap and Cebu. With both airlines operating under MAG, Indian travellers can benefit from smooth transits through a single terminal, with checked-through baggage and coordinated schedules. This means less time waiting and more time discovering.

Krabi, Thailand – A Coastal Escape of Cliffs and Calm

Krabi is one of Thailand’s most scenic beach destinations. Known for its dramatic limestone cliffs and turquoise waters, it offers the perfect combination of relaxation and outdoor adventure. Railay Beach is a favourite for sunseekers and climbers alike, while island-hopping to Phi Phi or Hong Island adds variety to the stay. Inland, Krabi’s hot springs, jungle trails and the climb to Tiger Cave Temple offer alternative experiences away from the coast. It is the kind of destination that invites slow mornings, spontaneous exploration and long evenings by the sea.

Siem Reap, Cambodia – Temples, Culture and Timeless Heritage

Siem Reap offers a completely different pace, drawing travellers into the historic heart of Cambodia. As the gateway to the Angkor temple complex, it delivers one of the world’s most iconic cultural experiences. From the early morning light at Angkor Wat to the intricate carvings of Bayon and the tree-root-covered ruins of Ta Prohm, the scale and mystery of the site are humbling. The town itself has its own quiet charm—bike-friendly lanes, bustling markets, riverside restaurants, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes every visitor feel at home.

Cebu, Philippines – Island Adventure with a Cultural Heart

In the Philippines, Cebu combines island landscapes with a touch of city life and history. Spanish colonial landmarks like Magellan’s Cross sit alongside modern cafés and bustling waterfronts. Beyond the city, travellers can swim with whale sharks in Oslob, explore waterfalls in Badian, or dive off the reefs of Mactan and Malapascua. With its mix of experiences, from deep-sea adventures to heritage walks, Cebu is ideal for travellers who enjoy variety and spontaneity during their holidays.

Bonus Stop: Discover Malaysia on the Way

What makes this journey even more rewarding is the chance to add a bonus side trip with Malaysia Airlines at zero fare, where you pay only the taxes. With Kuala Lumpur serving as your transit hub, it’s easy to extend your holiday by a few days and explore Malaysia deeper. Whether it’s the beautiful beaches and scenic cable car rides in Langkawi, the colonial charm and renowned cuisine of Penang, or the family-friendly attractions and shopping of Johor Bahru, each destination offers a unique experience.

Adding to the appeal, Malaysia has recently made it easier than ever for Indian travellers by allowing visa-free entry for Indian passport holders.

With one trip, you can now explore multiple destinations across Southeast Asia, made possible by Malaysia Airlines and Firefly.  For Indian travellers, this marks a new era of connected journeys. With visa-free access to Malaysia and direct departures from ten Indian cities, the path to Southeast Asia’s hidden gems has never been clearer. Two holidays in one is no longer a travel secret it is simply the smarter way to explore.

Note: Flights to Krabi, Thailand, will launch on 17 November 2025; Siem Reap, Cambodia, on 27 November 2025; and Cebu, Philippines, on 2 December 2025.

Bangalore Diabetes And Eye Hospital Hosts World Sight Day Walkathon To Raise Awareness On Eye Health

·         The event flagged off in front of Vidhana Soudha saw participation from eye donors, healthcare professionals, students, volunteers, and members of the local community

·         As a part of World Sight Day campaign, the hospital is conducting free eye screening till 16th October at their Vasant Nagar and Padmanabha Nagar branches

The Bangalore Diabetes and Eye Hospital (a collaboration of Shraddha Eye Care Trust and Bangalore Diabetic Club) organised a large-scale walkathon on the occasion of World Sight Day. The event brought together hundreds of participants, including eye donors, healthcare professionals, students, volunteers, and members of the local community, all united in the cause of protecting and promoting eye health.

The walkathon was flagged off in front of Vidhana Soudha by Professor Dr. Sri Ganesh, Founder Trustee, Shraddha Eye Care Trust & Chairman and Managing Director of Nethradhama Super Speciality Eye Hospital, and Mr. Peeyush Jain, Trustee, Shri VP Gohel memorial trust in the presence of senior members of the medical fraternity and community leaders. The walk concluded at Bangalore Diabetes and Eye Hospital, Thimmaiah Road, Vasanth Nagar, where participants gathered for a closing session.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Sri Ganesh, Founder Trustee, Shraddha Eye Care Trust & Chairman and Managing Director of Nethradhama Super Speciality Eye Hospital, highlighted the urgency of the issue. “India has the largest number of patients with eye diseases and also the largest population of people living with blindness in the world. Yet, because these conditions are not life-threatening, they are often neglected or taken less seriously than other illnesses. This neglect comes at a heavy cost, as every year millions lose their vision to diseases that could have been prevented. Regular screening can detect conditions like diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and cataract at a stage when treatment is most effective. As doctors, our duty goes beyond providing treatment. It is about making people aware that their eyesight is precious, and that timely action is the only way to protect it,” he said.

Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Sushmitha Sri Ganesh, Chief Medical Officer- Bangalore Diabetes and Eye Hospital, highlighted the role of collective responsibility in protecting eye health. “Vision is central to how we learn, work and live with confidence. Protecting it requires collective effort — from families encouraging regular check-ups to schools and workplaces fostering awareness about eye health. Lasting change happens when eye care becomes part of everyday conversations and community action. Today’s walkathon is a wonderful reminder that awareness begins with participation.”

Adding his perspective, Mr. Peeyush Jain, Trustee, Shri VP Gohel Memorial Trust, underscored the power of collaboration and long-term commitment. “Healthcare initiatives gain strength when hospitals, NGOs, philanthropists and volunteers work hand in hand. Our responsibility does not end with one day of awareness. It continues in the form of supporting outreach camps, funding surgeries for underprivileged patients and building systems that ensure no one is left behind. Only then can we truly make eye care inclusive and sustainable.”

The World Sight Day Walkathon served as a powerful reminder that early detection and timely treatment remain the most effective tools to combat avoidable blindness. By bringing together people from different walks of life, the event highlighted how public participation and community-driven initiatives can play a pivotal role in putting greater focus on eye health.

This year’s global theme for World Sight Day, “Love Your Eyes,” added further resonance to the initiative by urging individuals to take personal responsibility for their vision health. It underscored the importance of prioritizing regular eye check-ups, while also advocating for systems that make quality eye care accessible, affordable, and available to all sections of society.

As a part of World Sight Day campaign, the hospital is conducting free eye screening till 16th October at their Vasant Nagar and Padmanabha Nagar branches.

Consumer response in Karnataka has been especially strong. The Superbowl @ ₹99 has attracted thousands of new customers every month, while the recently launched combo range continues to gain popularity as a go-to choice for both office meals and family indulgences.

Speaking on the campaign, Aayush Madhusudan Agrawal, Founder & Director, Lenexis Foodworks, said, “Karnataka is not just a market for us, it’s a growth engine. Bengaluru’s vibrant food culture and Mysuru’s rising appetite for Desi Chinese have made this state a true stronghold for Chinese Wok. Alongside this expansion, the brand has rolled out its new nationwide campaign, “Chinese Bole Toh, Chinese Wok,” which turns everyday naming mix-ups into witty craving cues, reinforcing Chinese Wok as India’s go-to destination for Desi Chinese.”

At the heart of the campaign is a quirky consumer truth: people often misname or casually refer to Chinese food outlets. The films will run across leading OTT platforms, social media, and high-impact broadcast moments, including the upcoming cricket season, ensuring the campaign reaches millions of viewers during peak festive and cricket season.

Professionals Can Now Add Their Notice Period And Expected Annual Salary When Using Open To Work On LinkedIn

LinkedIn’s ‘Open to Work’ feature has long helped professionals indicate when they’re ready for their next opportunity. Globally, 85% of professionals who share that they are ‘Open to Work’ on the platform say they have received help or encouragement from their connections. Building on this, LinkedIn is introducing updates that give members greater control and transparency in their job search.

When switching on the ‘Open to Work’ feature, members can now add their notice period to show how soon they’re available to join, and their expected annual salary to share compensation expectations upfront. These optional fields help professionals provide clarity from the start, helping avoid mismatched conversations. This information is visible only to recruiters, even if a member’s ‘Open to Work’ badge is publicly visible.

Ruchee Anand, Head of Talent and Learning Solutions, LinkedIn India, explains that much like traffic lights, the signals professionals send — red, yellow, or green — can make all the difference in moving their careers forward. Here’s how:

🔴 Red Signals: Stop and Reflect: Recruiters notice when something doesn’t add up. Gaps or exits with no context, ghosting after initial outreach, or assuming multiple offers mean you don’t have to engage — these send the wrong message. Adding a short explanation to your profile about layoffs, career transitions, or breaks helps tell your story authentically.

🟡 Yellow Signals: Proceed with Clarity: Clarity isn’t always only about timelines and pay, it’s also about showcasing skills. Globally, 42% of recruiters search for candidates using the skills filter on LinkedIn every week. And yet, some eligible profiles slip through the cracks simply because the skills section was left blank. LinkedIn profiles are up to 5.6x more likely to be viewed by recruiters if you list five or more skills.

🟢 Green Signals: Go Forward with Confidence: Recruiters light up when they see direction. Candidates who have defined what roles they want, updated their profiles with key details, and switched on “Open to Work” are far more likely to get callbacks. In fact, switching on the “Open to Work” feature can double professionals’ chances of getting a recruiter message.

How to switch on the Open to Work badge and send the right signals to recruiters:

Step 1: Visit your LinkedIn profile, click on “Open to”, and select “Finding a new job”

Step 2: Enter your preferred job title(s) to share details on what kind of work you’re open to.

Step 3: Enter your notice period to show how soon you’re available to join (only visible to recruiters).

Step 4: Mention the right range of your expected annual salary to signal your preferred compensation upfront (only visible to recruiters).

Step 5: Finally, control who can see your ‘Open to Work’ badge by choosing to share either with recruiters only or with all LinkedIn members. Choosing ‘recruiters only’ can help you stay on recruiters’ radar without alerting your entire network on the platform.
