Kotak Mutual Fund Launches Kotak Active Momentum Fund To Harness Earnings Growth

NFO opens on 29th July 2025 & closes on 12th August 2025

Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company Ltd (“KMAMC” / “Kotak Mutual Fund”) today announced the launch of the Kotak Active Momentum Fund, an open-ended equity scheme following the momentum theme. This fund aims to capture opportunities by identifying stocks with earnings momentum, built on an in-house proprietary model. The scheme will be open for public subscription from 29th July, 2025 to 12th August, 2025.

Momentum investing typically involves buying stocks with rising prices, anticipating the trend will continue. However, momentum is not limited to price alone. Earnings Momentum focuses on stocks with upward earnings revisions and favorable analyst ratings, supported by strong fundamentals. The Kotak Active Momentum Fund targets companies with increasing earnings per share (EPS), driven by analyst upgrades or positive earnings surprises. The proprietary model evaluates momentum using earnings and sales growth along with analyst ratings.

Nilesh Shah, Managing Director, Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company Ltd., stated,

“Markets are a slave to earnings. Historically, earnings have outperformed price across both bull and bear phases. This enduring pattern is the foundation of our fund. At Kotak Mutual Fund, we’ve developed a model that goes beyond mere price trends.”

The fund portfolio is constructed from the top 250 stocks by market capitalization, applying rigorous filters to exclude weaker candidates. The result is a diversified basket of 40–50 high-quality stocks, dynamically reviewed and rebalanced to capture emerging opportunities.

Rohit Tandon, Fund Manager for the Kotak Active Momentum Fund, commented, “We’ve integrated investment strategy with data science to create a fund that captures momentum driven by earnings. The Kotak Active Momentum Fund is built on a simple conviction: when earnings rise and upgrades follow, prices eventually align. Our model captures this with discipline and data. This is not a trend play—it’s an earnings-led opportunity.”

Kotak Active Momentum Fund provides investors a robust tool to participate in momentum with discipline and consistency. The fund offers a clear, research-backed way to stay ahead—by investing in what truly drives stock performance.

The scheme opens for public subscription on 29th July, 2025 to 12th August, 2025. Tap, Pay, Parent: Visa’s 5 Smart Payment Habits For The Digital Desi Mom & Dad

Parenting in 2025 isn’t just about baby-proofing the house, it’s about cyber-proofing your wallet! As new-age Indian parents juggle school runs, grocery apps, and weekend getaways, Visa’s swift and secure payment guide is your digital payments partner. From tap-to-pay magic to dodging fraud calls like a ninja, here are five must-follow habits to keep your finances as safe as your toddler’s snack stash.

  1. Add Cards to Phone Wallets: Why carry a bulky wallet when your phone can do it all? Add your Visa card to mobile wallets like Google Pay for secure, on-the-go transactions. Bonus: no more “Where’s my card?” panic at checkout.

  2. Tap to Pay Like a Pro: Say goodbye to fumbling for cash or cards. With NFC-enabled smartphones, just tap and go! Contactless payments are fast, secure, and perfect for multitasking parents who have one hand on the stroller and the other on the phone.

  3. OTPs Are Sacred—Don’t Share!: Your OTP is like your child’s school password, private and precious. Never share it, even if the caller sounds convincing. Always remember: banks never ask for OTPs over calls or messages.

  4. Suspicious Links? Just Don’t Click: That “free toy” link might be a trap. Always verify before clicking or paying. If it looks phishy (pun intended), it probably is. Check URLs and avoid unsolicited payment requests.

  5. Monitor with Mobile Banking & Notifications: Stay in the loop with real-time alerts. Mobile banking apps and transaction notifications help you track every rupee spent, whether it’s on diapers or date nights.

Being a parent is a full-time job and so is keeping your money safe. With Visa’s smart payment tips, you can focus on bedtime stories and boardroom meetings without worrying about fraudsters. So go ahead, be that cool, tech-first parent who taps to pay, reads app alerts like bedtime tales, and treats OTPs like family secrets. Stay sharp, stay secure, and parent like a fintech boss!

Bengaluru’s Wealth Boom Sparks Urgent Call For Succession Planning

As India’s startup capital continues to mint new wealth and attract global attention, a quieter but critical conversation is gaining momentum: succession planning. At the recent Bengaluru Chapter of ‘Leading Ladies’, an initiative by Kotak Private Banking, industry voices came together to spotlight the growing need for families and founders to secure their financial legacies.

Despite rising financial literacy, less than 10% of Indians have written a Will, compared to 46% in the United States. The result? Over INR 50,000 crore in unclaimed assets lying idle with the government. In Bengaluru, where startups are scaling rapidly and wealth creation is accelerating, the absence of succession plans poses risks not just to families but to entire ventures.

Recent health scares—particularly among younger professionals—have added urgency to the conversation. From pandemic aftershocks to rising lifestyle-related conditions, many millennials and Gen Z individuals are now considering “drop-dead succession plans”: contingency strategies for sudden loss of a family or business leader. “In the face of life’s unpredictability, having a Will and a clear succession plan is not just a legal formality—it is a responsibility,” said Kanchi Gandhi, MD, KMTSL.

A powerful shift is also underway in how families approach these conversations. Traditionally sidelined, women are now asserting their right to understand and influence decisions around asset ownership, protection, and transfer. Their involvement brings a deeper understanding of financial inclusion and long-term family stability. “Whether you're a business founder, homemaker, or salaried professional, your financial legacy deserves protection,” Gandhi added.

The discussion also underscored the need for practical action. Families are being encouraged to start with simple steps: listing assets, having open conversations, and ensuring basic documentation like Wills are in place. For those with complex holdings or cross-border ties, more structured planning may be required. But the message was clear—succession planning is no longer a niche concern. It’s a necessary part of financial maturity, especially in a city where wealth is being created faster than ever.

As Bengaluru’s financial landscape evolves, conversations like those at Leading Ladies are helping shift the focus from short-term gains to long-term preparedness—ensuring that the stories of success don’t end without a plan.
