Total PV Sales of 1,30,753 units, -6% YoY

Tata Motors Limited sales in the domestic & international market for Q2 FY 2024-25 stood at 2,15,034 vehicles, compared to 2,43,024 units during Q2 FY 2023-24.

Domestic sales of MH&ICV in Sept 2024, was 14,190 units vs 18,577 units in Sept 2023; In Q2 FY25 it was 37,372 units, compared to 45,174 units in Q2 FY24.

Domestic & International sales for MH&ICV in Sept 2024, was 14,839 units vs 19,199 units in Sept 2023; while in Q2 FY25 it stood at 39,433 units, vs 46,865 units in Q2 FY24.

Mr. Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors Ltd. said, “Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles domestic sales at 79,931 units in Q2 FY25 were ~19% lower than Q2 FY24 sales. Sales in September 2024 were ~11% higher compared to August 2024.

Slowdown in infrastructure project execution, reduction in mining activity and an overall drop in fleet utilization due to heavy rains resulted in the HCV segment record a 25% YoY decline in Q2 FY25 and the ILMCV segment register a 11% decline. The resilient demand in the passenger commercial vehicles business saw it register a 3% increase in Q2 FY25 over Q2 FY24. SCVPU volumes decline by 25% YoY, and we expect a gradual improvement as we press on with initiatives to address challenges in first-time user financing.

As we move forward, with the rains easing, increased infrastructure spending, and the arrival of the festive season boosting consumption, we anticipate demand to pick up gradually in Q3, led by ILMCV and Buses, followed by M&HCV and SCVPU.”

Passenger Vehicles: Includes sales of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, both subsidiaries of Tata Motors Limited.

Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said, “The PV industry in Q2 FY25 saw more than 5% decline in retails (Vahan registrations) compared to Q2 FY24 driven by slow consumer demand and seasonal factors. In contrast, industry offtake was significantly higher than registrations in anticipation of a strong start to the festive season, resulting in a continued buildup of channel stock. In addition, Electric Vehicle sales in personal segment was affected by the lapse of registration and road tax waivers in key states. Fleet EV sales continued to remain impacted due to lapse of FAME II and non-inclusion of the fleet segment in PM-eDRIVE scheme.

Tata Motors posted wholesales of 130,753 units in Q2 FY25, a decline of 6% compared to Q2 FY24, as we readjusted wholesales to lower-than-expected retails, to keep channel inventory under control. During the quarter, we launched the Curvv, which has received an excellent response with strong bookings for all its powertrains – petrol, diesel and electric. Initial deliveries of Curvv have commenced, and we will continue to ramp up production in Q3. Our market facing interventions have been well received, generating a strong pipeline. The launch of our higher range Nexon.ev has also generated strong consumer interest.

Registrations picked up pace towards end of the month which augurs well for the festive period ahead and we remain focused on driving up consumer preference for our exciting range of vehicles while maintaining the health of our dealer network."

Air India Express Ccompletes Merger With AIX Connect, Marking Another Milestone In Air India Group’s Ongoing Transformation

·         Merger involved harmonization of operational manuals across two low-cost carriers, transfer of aircraft, besides operational, safety and maintenance approvals

·         Air India Group is in the process of merging four airlines into two as part of its 5-year Vihaan.AI transformation program

Air India Group has completed the operational integration and legal merger of Air India Express Ltd and AIX Connect Pvt Ltd (erstwhile AirAsia India) into a larger Low-Cost Carrier.

The formation of the merged entity, which will operate under the ‘Air India Express’ name and a unified airline code IX, marks a significant milestone in the transformation journey of Air India Group, which is merging four airlines into two. The group is simultaneously in the process of merging Vistara into Air India to set up a world-class global airline.

The merger process for Air India Express was completed in less than a year since the airline’s refreshed brand was unveiled. It involved the harmonisation of operational manuals, as an enabler for the merger, and the transfer of Air operator certificates (AOCs). Given the complexity of such a merger, it required close working with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), who supported and monitored the process throughout. The merger also received support of Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and other key stakeholders.

On Tuesday, Vikram Dev Dutt, Director General, DGCA, handed over the updated AOC to Aloke Singh, Managing Director, Air India Express, in the presence of Campbell Wilson, Chief Executive Officer of Air India and Chairman, Air India Express, at the DGCA headquarter in New Delhi.

Vikram Dev Dutt, Director General, DGCA, said: “The successful integration and merger of AIX Connect with Air India Express is commendable and serves as a benchmark for airline mergers. India’s rapid evolution into the world's third largest aviation market calls for a robust regulatory regime. Accomplishing this milestone given the complexities involved, is testimony to the efforts put in by teams from both the DGCA and the operator.”

A live tracker created by the Flight Standards Directorate of DGCA with a dedicated team for continuous monitoring of the progress of the harmonisation process has been instrumental in achieving the challenging task in a time-bound manner.

Aloke Singh, Managing Director, Air India Express, said: “About a year ago, we started the integration of AIX Connect and Air India Express, bringing the two organisations together behind a common brand. Alongside, we worked on the complex integration exercise culminating today in the operational and legal merger of the two organisations. The close collaboration amongst DGCA, BCAS, and MoCA, AIX and group leadership teams and many other colleagues were instrumental in the success of this exercise.”

Campbell Wilson, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Air India and Chairman, Air India Express, said: “The integration of AIX Connect with Air India Express is an important milestone in Air India’s Vihaan.ai transformation journey. The merged entity will cater to the growing demand for air travel around India and in the region, especially amongst the country's aspirational youth looking for fresh and more appealing value products. This merger will be followed by the merger of Vistara into Air India on 12 November. We look forward to working with the guidance of DGCA to conclude it seamlessly.”

With the merger completed, Air India Express will focus on a future growth and transformation agenda. The airline's fleet size has already grown to 88 aircraft, with nearly four new aircraft continuing to join each month. The fleet is expected to cross 100 aircraft by the end of the current financial year, with a network footprint spanning across India, Gulf and Southeast Asia.

The number of routes AIX operates has risen from 74 to 171, and passenger carriage has increased by over 400% since the take-over of Air India by Tata group in early 2022.

In October 2023, the airline unveiled the unified brand 'Air India Express'. Since then, flights operated by AIX Connect have also been marketed under the 'Air India Express' brand, with necessary regulatory approval.

The all-new BMW CE 02

The all-new BMW CE 02 is nimble, practical, robust and reduced to essentials in terms of design. It expresses freedom and light-heartedness - similar to a skateboard, which is deliberately reflected in the design of the seat. The disc wheels are designed to emphasise the proportions. The LED technology for lights and indicators is a design highlight. Cosmic Black as the basic colour and granite grey metallic matt for the motor cover offer just as exciting a contrast as the interplay of matt and high-gloss surfaces. At the same time, the reduced design offers plenty of scope for your own design options.

Thanks to its low weight of only 142 kg and the low seat height of only 745 mm, the all-new CE 02 is also characterised by its playful, city-suitable handling. As far as the chassis is concerned the BMW CE 02 relies on a torsionally rigid double-loop frame made of tubular steel. Hydraulically damped telescopic forks operate at the front, while a single-sided swingarm and a directly pivoted shock absorber are used at the rear. Wide tyres are mounted on cast light aluminum wheels in disc wheel design and disc brakes ensure safe deceleration at the front and rear. BMW Motorrad ABS is featured at the front. Adjustable hand levers allow you to adapt hand reach to meet your personal preferences. The footrests allow the rider two leg positions in solo mode: relaxed on the rider footrests or sporty-dynamic on the pillion footrests.

With the special HIGHLINE package, the all-new CE 02 puts in an extroverted and colourful appearance. Forks anodised in gold and tape designs in combination with Petrol as a contrasting colour make the CE 02 look dynamic and future-oriented even when standing still. Bluetooth interface, SP Connect smartphone holder, Additional Flash riding mode, 1.5 kW quick charger and heated grips are your smart companions.

The all-new BMW CE 02 is powered by a, current excited synchronous motor. Power is supplied by two air-cooled lithium-ion batteries with an operating voltage of 48 V and  total energy content of  3.9 kWh. The all-new BMW CE 02 has a maximum power output of 11 kW offering a dynamic riding experience. With a top speed of 95 km/h, progress is speedy on expressways and a range of 108 kms (according to ICAT) allows for extended urban adventures. The powerful drive which generates a torque of 55 Nm from standstill, enables the all-new CE 02 to accelerate from 0 - 50 km/h in 3 seconds.

The all-new BMW CE 02 comes as standard with a 0.9 kW external charger which enables charging processes to be carried out quickly and conveniently at standard household sockets. It's even faster where 20%-80% SoC can be achieved in only 102 mins with the 1.5 kW quick charger available in the HIGHLINE package as optional equipment or can be bought as an accessory.

The all-new CE 02 comes with the "Flow" and "Surf" riding modes as standard. "Flow" offers the optimal set-up for cruising along in urban traffic, while "Surf" provides a dynamic riding experience beyond the bustling city traffic. The "Flash" driving mode is also available as a sporty and dynamic addition as part of the HIGHLINE package.

An easy-to-read 3.5” micro TFT display informs the rider about riding speed, battery charge status and much more. A USB-C charging socket also allows you to supply a smartphone with power. Using the BMW Motorrad Connected app you can see how the smartphone shows the predicted end of charging thanks to networking via Bluetooth. In the HIGHLINE variant, the cradle mode allows the BMW Motorrad app in the smartphone (held in a smartphone holder) to be controlled safely as an additional display using the keypad on the handlebar. With the electric reverse gear, the rider can manoeuvre with ease, even when space gets tight. With Keyless Ride, you simply jump on and off you go. To maintain mobility and flexibility for the rider, the CE 02 offers a special power-saving mode which notifies and supports the riders when the charge level is critical.

BMW Motorrad Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) on the front wheel adds additional active safety. In addition to Automatic Stability Control (ASC), Recuperation Stability Control (RSC) specifically reduces the drag torque in overrun mode to keep the vehicle stable.

A comprehensive range of optional equipment and original BMW Motorrad accessories is available for individualization.
