Bank of Baroda Enables UPI ATM Facility At Over 6,000 ATMs Across The Country

* The cardless, UPI QR-based cash withdrawal service is available to Bank of Baroda customers as well as customers of all participating issuer banks 

Bank of Baroda (Bank), one of India’s leading public sector banks, announced that it has enabled the UPI ATM facility at over 6,000 Bank of Baroda ATMs across the country. It is the first Public Sector Bank to launch UPI ATMs, in co-ordination with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and powered by NCR Corporation. Bank of Baroda customers as well as customers of all participating issuer banks using any UPI-enabled Mobile app can withdraw cash from Bank of Baroda UPI ATMs without having to use their debit card.  

The Bank’s UPI ATM was showcased at the Global Fintech Fest 2023 that took place in Mumbai from 5th to 7th September 2023.  

Using the Interoperable Cardless Cash Withdrawal (ICCW) technology, which facilitates cardless cash withdrawals through ATMs, the UPI ATM enables seamless QR-based cash withdrawals, doing away with the need to carry a Card to withdraw cash.

The process to be followed to withdraw cash from a Bank of Baroda UPI ATM: 

Select the “UPI Cardless Cash” option on the ATM screen. 

Choose the cash withdrawal amount. 

Scan the QR Code displayed on the ATM screen using an UPI app. 

Select the bank account to be debited, if multiple bank accounts are linked to a single UPI ID 

Confirm the transaction using the UPI PIN and collect the cash. 

Some of the major benefits of the UPI ATM facility is that customers can withdraw cash from multiple accounts linked to UPI. UPI ATM transactions are also quicker, convenient, and secured as it generates a single-use dynamic QR code for every transaction and ensures a safe banking experience. 

FADA Releases Aug’23 Vehicle Retail Data For The State Of Karnataka

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) released Vehicle Retail Data for Aug’23 for the State of Karnataka.

Commenting on how Aug’23 performed, FADA Karnataka State Chairperson, Mr Dharma Teja G said,  “Due to average monsoon in Aug 23, the state of Karnataka has had mixed results for the month. Sales Volume were affected for the categories of CV and Tractors Negatively. The rest of the category have shown a good growth for the month. Speaking of numbers, we saw good growth across all segments with a growth of 14%, 135%, and 17%, for 2W, 3W, and PV segments respectively. CV and Tractor segments have seen a DE growth of 6% and 1.45% respectively. DFC Board Of Directors Approves USD 425 Million For Tata Power’s Greenfield 4.3 GW Solar Cell And Module Manufacturing Plant In TN

The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation’s (DFC) Board of Directors approved the provision of up to USD 425 million in financing in TP Solar Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), for its upcoming greenfield 4.3 GW solar cell and module manufacturing plant at Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu, India.

DFC is America’s development finance institution.

TPREL is a subsidiary of Tata Power, one of India’s largest integrated power companies.        

The plant’s first module production is expected by the year end and the first cell production is expected in the first quarter of FY 24.

Pending a U.S. congressional notification, this investment will support India’s ambitious program to increase renewable energy manufacturing capability to support domestic solar capacity addition as part of its global green energy transition. DFC’s financial support of Tata Power will help secure the supply chain in the country’s journey for leadership in clean energy space.

DFC partners with the private sector players across the globe to finance solutions to the most critical challenges facing the developing world today. The financing support came at a time when global leaders were deliberating on energy transition and other critical sustainability challenges at the recently concluded G20 Summit in New Delhi. This financing support will contribute towards securing India’s commitment to achieve 500 GW of clean energy targets by 2030.

It shows the trust and belief DFC has in Tata Power’s ability to set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing supply line in the country. The Tirunelveli manufacturing plant will integrate advanced technologies enabling the production of high wattage solar modules and cells with industry-leading efficiencies. Additionally, the facility will implement industry 4.0 standards for smart manufacturing. The plant is expected to create over 2000 employment opportunities directly or indirectly, with the majority of the employees being women employees from the local areas.

Tata Power is committed to expanding its clean and green energy capacity, targeting an increase from 38% to 70% by 2030. The company is actively focusing on renewable capacity expansion and transitioning into consumer-oriented business.

Currently, Tata Power's renewable portfolio stands at approx. 7.8 GW, with 4.1 GW operational and 3.6 GW under implementation. The company also has already operating a solar cell and module manufacturing plant of 500 MW capacity, each at Bengaluru.

The A95L series encompasses XR 4K upscaling technology so that you can enjoy entertainment close to 4K quality, whatever the content or source. Sony is committed to sustainability from the development process all the way through to the viewing experience. This year select models use Sony-developed SORPLAS™, a 99% recycled plastic material that has reduced the amount of virgin plastic used by up to 60%. TV packaging size has also been reduced by approximately 15% and features a significant reduction in ink (approx. 90%) and plastic (approx. 35%).8 Additionally, BRAVIA CAM can recognize when viewers are no longer in front of the TV and dim the display to conserve energy.
