Dr. Vishwakumara Kayargadde, Co-Founder and COO, Saankhya Labs which is focused on the need for engineers to upskill in a post COVID-19 world says, "This year, we are experiencing a situation like never before and the world is changing at a rapid pace. Owing to the pandemic, there has been a tectonic shift in what was once considered normal, and the influx of technology has hastened the digital transformation across sectors; from retail and healthcare to communication and education, among others. Engineers, with their sharp, analytical minds, have been at the forefront of this change, while staying abreast with the latest technology."
He goes on to say that as we continue to adapt to the new normal, engineers would be required to expand their horizons and deepen their knowledge and skillset, towards emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, Internet of Things, 5G, data analysis, and more. On Engineers Day, we should take this opportunity to appreciate the many contributions made by engineers in the development of our nation from a technological, entrepreneurial, and economic point of view. We are confident engineers will continue to rise to the occasion and new technological challenges and make a difference both to the organisation they are a part of, as well as the economy as a whole.
