The BOSSUMMIT 2024 Inaugurated At St. John’s Auditorium, Koramangala, Bangalore


Sri. Harishekaran, Additional Director General of Police - Crime, Karnataka State Police and Dr. Lalit Verma**, former President of the All India Ophthalmic Society and currently with Centre for Sight, Delhi inaugurated The Bangalore Ophthalmic Society’s BOSSUMMIT 2024 at St. John’s Auditorium, Koramangala, Bangalore, under the esteemed leadership of Dr. Elankumaran Pasupathi, President of the Society and office bearers, staff & more than 500 delegates from all parts of India were part of this prestigious annual Summit.

Dr. Lalit Verma is an experienced Eye specialist and eminent Retina Surgeon with over 32 years of professional experience. He has made outstanding contributions towards the development of treatment for Retinal conditions including Laser treatment for Diabetic Retinopathy, Age-Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD), Vitreo Retinal Surgery, and Intravitreal Injections said that “Blindness from diabetes is a very real danger. Vision loss can come from Diabetic Retinopathy, Cataracts, and Glaucoma, along with other complications like double vision and an inability to focus.

BOSSUMMIT 2024 featured discussions by 260 national speakers, who spoke and presented papers on the most recent advancements and breakthroughs in eye care (ophthalmology). Some of the key topics mentioned below were;

The summit brought together leading experts and professionals from the ophthalmic community to share knowledge, insights, and advancements that will significantly impact the future of eye care in India.

Dr. Elankumaran Pasupathi, president in his presidential speech said “The inconvenient truth is that we’re all getting older. As are our parents, grandparents, in-laws, and anyone else who will depend on us to care for them in their sunset years. For many of us, caretaking duties are already a part of our lives. If you’ve ever set a reminder on a parent’s phone to take their medication on time, you’ve acted as a caregiver. Also expressed his gratitude to all the speakers, guests, and attendees for making BOSSUMMIT 2024 a resounding success. The event marked a significant milestone in the field of ophthalmology, providing a platform for collaboration, learning, and innovation. Dr. Elankumaran Pasupathi is also the joint treasurer at All India Ophthalmic Society.
