Tata Chemicals Limited, Mambattu Plant, was awarded the Gold rating for the second time in a row under the Green Factory Building project by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Hyderabad. The IGBC Green Factory Building Rating System is designed to promote sustainable and environmentally responsible practices within the industrial sector, addressing critical national priorities such as waste management, water efficiency, energy conservation, and the preservation of natural resources.
The IGBC rating, in effect from September 2023 to August 2026, covers a three-year span. The evaluation encompassed five key environmental categories: Site Selection and Planning, Water Conservation, Energy Conservation, Material Conservation, and Indoor Environmental Quality and Occupational Health, supplemented by an additional category focusing on Innovation in Design.
The IGBC Green Factory Building Rating System incorporates non-negotiable mandatory requirements. These include meticulous documentation of legal clearances, adherence to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) standards, and the implementation of soil erosion control measures in accordance with the National Building Code (NBC). Tata Chemicals Limited, Mambattu, proactively addressed these prerequisites, demonstrating their commitment to compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
