Maharashtra Students Use AI To Democratise Tennis Coaching For Grassroots Athletes

Tennis training in India may soon get more accessible, thanks to a pair of young players who are using artificial intelligence to fill the coaching gap that persists beyond big cities.

Aadish Shelke from Aurangabad and Bhagyashri Meena from Mumbai — both 21-year-old tennis players and Computer Science students at IIIT Pune — have developed NextPlayAI, a platform that analyses tennis videos using machine learning to offer personalised feedback on strokes, footwork and match movements. The aim: to help budding tennis players from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities access guidance that usually requires expensive academies and elite coaches.

The duo’s innovation earned them a Samsung Solve for Tomorrow grant under the category Social Change through Sport and Technology. The platform is part of Samsung’s flagship education programme that supports youth-led tech solutions for real-world challenges. This year, four winning teams received ₹1 crore incubation support at IIT Delhi to scale their ideas.

Shelke said the idea emerged from the reality that tennis remains concentrated in a few urban pockets. “Tennis coaching often feels like a luxury,” he said. “In a city like Aurangabad, high-quality infrastructure and expert coaching are extremely limited. Many promising players drop out because they can’t get the right support at the right time.”

NextPlayAI helps players record their practice sessions and compare them with professional benchmarks — from serve mechanics to racket angles and on-court movement. Meena said the goal is to make tennis learning affordable and accessible. “There is so much valuable footage and data on elite players. We wanted to bring that intelligence to young athletes everywhere, especially those outside big metros,” she said.

Through the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow mentorship, the team refined their approach using design thinking to ensure the tool adapts to different learning styles. “Every tennis player has a unique rhythm and technique,” Shelke said. “The AI has to recognise individuality, not force uniformity.”

The duo now plans to collaborate with district sports associations and tennis academies to pilot the platform across smaller towns. They also want to build a team of developers and players from similar backgrounds — those who know firsthand the challenges of pursuing tennis from outside the mainstream circuit.

“We want to see more tennis champions emerge from places people don’t expect,” Meena said. “Talent exists everywhere — opportunity must too.”

As India looks beyond cricket to build a broader sporting culture, innovations like these aim to ensure that future tennis stars aren’t limited by their pin code.

Instagram Empowers Creators To Go Global With Local Voice Translations And Fonts

Today, at the exclusive ‘House of Instagram’ event in Mumbai, we shared two new updates from Instagram that not only underline India’s importance for Meta, but also further the possibilities for creators to reach new audiences.

Meta AI Translations Expand To Five New Indian Languages on Instagram & Facebook

We’re excited to announce in the coming months you will soon be able to use Meta AI to translate reels in five new Indian languages, helping you discover more entertaining content from across India and around the world. In October, we launched the ability for creators to dub and lip-sync their reels to and from English, Hindi, Spanish, and Portuguese, helping them reach more people globally. Now, the same capability will soon be available in Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Marathi.

How will this work?

Creators have the option to use Meta AI to transform their reels, so they sound and look fluent in some of the world’s most spoken languages, helping them reach more people globally and grow an international audience. When turned on, the tool preserves the sound and tone of your voice, so your reels feel authentically you. You can also choose to enable the lip syncing feature, which syncs the translated audio to your mouth's movements, so it looks like you’re actually speaking the language.

New Indian Fonts Available on Edits

Additionally, creators will now have the benefit of using new Indian fonts on Edits. So you’ll now be able to style your text and captions with Devanagari and Bengali-Assamese scripts, in languages such as Hindi, Marathi, Bengali and Assamese. This update will roll out on Android in the coming days.

How will this work?

1. Within your editing timeline, head to “Text” on the bottom tools tray.
2. From there click on the “Aa” icon where you’ll see the list of fonts available.
3. If your device is already in Devanagari or Bengali-Assamese scripts, these fonts will be defaulted in the font tab. If not, slightly swipe down when you’re on the “all fonts” tab to filter your fonts by language.

These new updates follow a spree of other features launched in the past month to benefit creators. This includes the ability to restyle your photos and videos in Instagram Stories and make edits—big or small—using Meta AI. There are also new features in Edits, such as bulk editing captions, reversing your videos, using lip sync to bring your photos to life, and access to 400 more sound effects.

The partnership has focused on building the team’s readiness through consistent training support, international exposure, and holistic athlete development. UNFPA India Advocates For Demographic Resilience At The 46th Conference Of The Indian Association For The Study Of Population

Felicitates the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population for UN Population Award

Keynote by UNFPA India Representative Andrea Wojnar focused on India's demographic dividend and the significance of investing in youth

Felicitation ceremony honoured IUSSP for its pivotal role in advancing global population science

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) India today felicitated the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP) for receiving the prestigious 2025 United Nations Population Award (Institutional Category) for its exemplary contribution in advancing global population science and fostering evidence-based policymaking. The felicitation took place during the 46th Annual Conference of the Indian Association for the Study of Population (IASP), thus setting the stage for critical discussions on India's demographic future.

The UN Population Award, received by IUSSP, whose current President is Dr. Shireen Jejeebhoy, recognizes the organization’s excellence in population research and its role in fostering global collaboration among demographers.

Dr. Shireen Jejeebhoy, President, International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP) 2022-2025, said, “It is a great honour for IUSSP to receive the 2025 United Nations Population Award. As Former UNFPA Executive Director Dr. Natalia Kanem noted, the award affirms IUSSP’s role as a global leader in advancing population science. It recognises our contributions to evidence generation, capacity building, and global networks. At a time of complex demographic shifts — from ageing to climate-related mobility — rigorous, independent research is more crucial than ever. IUSSP remains committed to informing policies that uphold rights and advance sustainable development.”

The IASP conference (27-29 November), themed “People, Planet, Prosperity: Demographic Drivers of India’s Inclusive Growth,” focuses on leveraging the country's youth bulge for inclusive and sustainable growth. It is organized by IASP in collaboration with the National Atlas & Thematic Mapping Organisation (NATMO) and the Anthropological Survey of India (AnSI).

The session was graced by Chief Guest: Prof. K. N. Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Central University of South Bihar; Guest of Honour: Shri Vijay Bharti, IAS, Secretary to the Government of West Bengal; and Special Guest: Prof. A. P. Singh, Director General, National Library, Kolkata.

Andrea M. Wojnar, UNFPA India Representative, delivered the keynote address at the inaugural session, focusing on the critical intersection of population dynamics, climate change, and equitable development in India. She said, “India stands at the epicentre of a demographic revolution, home to the world’s largest youth population. India’s path to prosperity depends on turning this demographic advantage into a model for resilient, equitable development. Our felicitation of IUSSP today reflects this same conviction that the power of data, science, and global partnership can ensure every person is counted, every voice is heard, and no one is left behind.”

The conference served as a powerful reminder that addressing the complexities of India’s demographic transition requires a rights-based roadmap that prioritizes reproductive autonomy at the heart of sustainable development and invests in the well-being of its vast youth population. The generation and use of robust demographic data advances population science and helps ensure that national policies are informed by evidence, leading to more equitable and inclusive growth for all in India.

The next day’s address further explored how individuals must adapt to remain relevant in an AI-dominated future.

On Day Two, the address by Bikram Singh Bedi, Vice President for Asia Pacific Strategic Initiatives at Google Cloud and a proud MAHE alumnus, further expanded the conversation by shifting focus to the skills and mindset required to thrive in an AI-driven world. With more than three decades of experience in technology, entrepreneurship, and leadership, he noted that the challenges of AI extend well beyond technical knowledge. They are also ethical, social, and deeply human, requiring thoughtful and responsible engagement. He urged graduates to approach innovation with accountability: “Don’t just build or use technology—do it responsibly. Don’t only ask ‘Can we build or use this?’ but also ‘Should we?’ Use your skills not just for personal success, but for the progress of society.”

Building on this focus on human values in an AI-driven world, day three featured the address by Prof. (Dr.) Hany Eteiba, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He emphasized the importance of empathetic communication in a technology-driven world. He reminded graduates that “knowledge and science gain true meaning only when paired with humanity, attentive listening, and genuine connection.” He said that effective communication helps turn knowledge into meaningful care and impact. Dr. Eteiba urged graduates to lead with trust, dignity, and compassion, noting that no success is achieved alone. He envisioned a future where technological progress and human empathy grow together, guided by integrity, respect, and responsibility.

Together, the convocation addresses aligned closely with the transformative vision shared by Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, VSM (Retd), Vice Chancellor, MAHE. He presented a roadmap for a future shaped by innovation, entrepreneurship, and academic excellence, highlighting the institution’s digital capabilities and sustainable initiatives, including its 32-megawatt solar power facility. He emphasized the institution’s commitment to leading the AI era with foresight and responsibility. He added that the institution’s mission goes far beyond academic achievement. It aims to build a learning ecosystem rooted in compassion, global perspectives, and strong community engagement through research, student initiatives, and technology incubators.

The 33rd Convocation recognized outstanding students with the prestigious Dr. TMA Pai Gold Medal across all three days. Day one gold medalists included Ponnamma M. M. (M.Sc. Medical Biotechnology, MSLS Manipal), Nikita Marina Saldanha (B.Pharm, MCOPS Manipal), Cyril Biji (M.Sc. Biostatistics, PSPH Manipal), and Vindhya S. Badal (B.Sc. Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics, MCHP Manipal). On day two, the awards were presented to Rashi Goel (B. Tech Computer Science and Engineering, MIT Manipal), Neha Sreekumar (B.Sc. Nursing, MCON Manipal), and Mandira (B.A. Media & Communication, MIC Manipal).

Continuing the celebration on day three, gold medalists were Ms. Nidhi S. (ME, Big Data Analytics, MSIS), Ms. Kashika Anil Kini (B. Com Professional), and Ms. Zhara Mohiddin (IPM, Manipal Institute of Management), reflecting the exceptional academic and professional achievements of MAHE’s graduating students. The medalists expressed sincere gratitude for MAHE’s supportive environment, which they said helped turn hard work into achievement. They reflected that this milestone is not just an ending, but the beginning of a new phase of responsibility and service to society.

The 33rd Convocation celebrated the academic excellence and inspiring achievements of MAHE’s graduating class, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to shaping responsible, forward-thinking, and industry-ready leaders for an AI-driven world. The ceremony concluded on an optimistic note, as students, families, and faculty now look forward to the upcoming convocation celebrations at MAHE Bengaluru on November 29–30, 2025.

Eurofragance introduces Olivante®, Its Latest Proprietary Perfumery Ingredient

· An innovative captive ingredient that delivers opulence in fine fragrances, personal care and air care scented products

· Olivante® is made by upcycling discarded olive pulp into a fragrance raw material through a 100% natural process

· It offers a natural alternative for Western and Middle Eastern fragrance consumers seeking richer, more caring experiences

The multinational Eurofragance unveiled its fourth proprietary perfumery ingredient in Dubai at the Beautyworld Middle East trade show on October 27, 2025. The Spanish fragrance house’s latest exclusive raw material brings opulence to fragrance compositions. Opulence in perfumery is about offering consumers fragrances that are rich in terms of their ingredients. Olivante® does so in a manner that is more caring and sustainable.

Delivering opulence in fragrance creations

As a world leader in the design of Middle Eastern fragrances, Eurofragance welcomes Olivante® as a new addition to its palette of ingredients that can deliver opulence in fragrance creations, a sought-after characteristic in perfumes of the Gulf region. Phenolic, animalic notes reminiscent of castoreum are often appreciated in mukhallat-type creations, and Olivante® possesses many of these olfactive properties.

Olivante® is not only destined to a Middle Eastern target; but also, can act as a highlighter of different perfumery ingredients found in other cultures. Mayur Kapse, General Manager India, says: “On its own the natural animalic character of Olivante® is ideal for an Indian target that loves powerful profiles such as shamama. In fragrance compositions that include typical Indian ingredients it works wonders too; a jasmine sambac will smell more fruity and a pink lotus note more leathery.”

Eurofragance Perfumers, who have been formulating with this innovative captive ingredient, state that with the inclusion of Olivante®, fruity notes become richer, gourmand notes more delightful and delectable, and certain white floral notes more intense. Because Olivante® is made from olive residual matter, following oil extraction, it does not have an oily smell.

Belén Garcia, Master Perfumer at Eurofragance who is composing with the raw material says: “In recent years we have seen how consumers in the West have opened up to Middle Eastern perfumery. Powerful notes of leather and oud have gained consumer acceptance well beyond the Gulf Region. Olivante® is multi-faceted and offers some of these olfactive aspects that are now appreciated across geographies.”

Upcycling olive pulp into a perfumery ingredient

Eurofragance developed its fourth proprietary raw material, Olivante®, in line with its sustainability philosophy by partnering with an olive oil industry collaborator who upcycles olive residues into valuable byproducts. R&D Manager Felipe San Juan and Technical Perfumer Magdalena Rey spent months exploring the Spanish countryside to identify the olive variety with the ideal concentration of volatiles and precursors, since different varieties produce distinct odorant residues. Over two years, they worked closely with a waste management engineer from a specific Spanish region to obtain the perfect raw material. Through an eco-friendly, multi-step purification process, Eurofragance transformed this upcycled waste into Olivante®, a 100% natural fragrance ingredient. San Juan emphasizes that terroir and climate are crucial, as Olivante® cannot be made from random olive pulp, and the team’s scientific expertise enabled them to isolate the essential odorant molecules. The ingredient is currently under patent review.

An iconic Mediterranean ingredient

The name Olivante® relates to the Levant, the birthplace of the olive tree, which was spread by Phoenicians westward across the Mediterranean to eventually reach Spain. Today, Eurofragance, the leading Spanish fragrance house, presents Olivante® a perfumery ingredient of Spanish heritage with global consumer appeal.

Sine Guçetil, Global Marketing Director at Eurofragance says the following about Olivante®: “Olivante® stands out for its ability to offer perfume richness, or opulence, in a manner that is fresher and less heavy. And, it’s not just intended for fine fragrances. Our initial trials formulating personal care and home fragrancing products with Olivante® are promising and we feel that this a proprietary ingredient with strong potential for broader market adoption.”

In addition to proposing a new olfactive experience, this natural ingredient is likely to appeal to marketers looking to offer their consumers products with a sustainability story.

Home Credit India’s ‘How India Borrows 7.0’ Reveals Shift From Survival To Success

With Digital Lending And Smart Credit As Catalysts Of Aspiration

Home Credit India, a leading consumer finance company, today released the 7th edition of its flagship annual study, How India Borrows (HIB).The study highlights a profound transformation in the borrowing behavior of India’s lower-middle class, a segment representing nearly two-thirds of the population and often considered the silent drivers of economic growth.

This year’s study shows a marked transformation in borrowing behaviour and attitudes among this segment - from credit as a safety net for necessity to a catalyst for aspiration and self-reliance. Credit is increasingly being used to elevate living standards, invest in entrepreneurial ventures, and achieve long-term financial goals, reflecting their strategic and forward-looking mindset. The study provides in-depth insights into borrowing behaviour, digital adoption, loan decision drivers, financial aspirations and attitudes, revealing how India’s emerging middle class is leveraging smart credit as a tool to fund their aspirations and turn dreams into reality.

HIB 7.0 is structured around four thematic pillars that define the concept of smart credit as a catalyst for growth.

The first, Credit-Aspiration Nexus: Motivation & Mobility, explores how credit acts as a launchpad for fulfilling personal and professional ambitions, empowering borrowers to plan and invest in their future.

The second, Digital Loan Landscape: Channels & Literacy, examines the rapid rise of digital proficiency and the shift toward mobile-first loan applications, reflecting a growing comfort with online financial services.

The third, Decoding Borrower Decisions: Criteria & Trade-offs, highlights the key factors like interest rates and EMI affordability to transparency and lender reputation that shape the modern borrower’s choices.

The fourth, Trust, Transparency, and Emerging Finance delves into concerns around data privacy while capturing the growing adoption of innovative solutions such as embedded finance and EMI cards, signaling a new era of frictionless, integrated credit experiences.

“How India Borrows 7.0 study reflects a shift in India’s credit culture - from borrowing for survival to borrowing for success,” says Ashish Tiwari, Chief Marketing Officer, Home Credit India. “Gen Z, Millennials, women, and smaller cities are leading the digital lending revolution, valuing speed, simplicity, and personalisation. Embedded finance is driving frictionless borrowing, where trust, technology, and value converge to redefine how India borrows. The lower middle class is increasingly strategic in its ambitions, using credit as a bridge to entrepreneurship, homeownership, and education. At Home Credit India, we see them as Prudent Planners and Confident Builders. We are committed to empowering our customers with a transparent financial journey that fuels personal progress, national growth, and financial inclusion, making every borrower’s #ZindagiHit.”

Key Insights from HIB 7.0:

Credit: A Catalyst for Aspiration

HIB 7.0 study reveals a defining shift in the purpose and psychology of borrowing: from need-based to purpose-driven. The findings highlight a dual nature of credit: it continues to democratise access to modern living while increasingly fueling entrepreneurial ambition. The evolving credit mix indicates a maturing borrowing mindset, where borrowers are prioritising productivity, digital access, and lifestyle improvement over basic needs spends.

In 2025, the top reason for borrowing remains the purchase of smartphones and home appliances (46%), showcasing the importance of connectivity and comfort in everyday life. However, a notable 25% of borrowers now seek credit for business expansion or start-ups (up from 21% in 2024), marking a significant rise in enterprise-led borrowing and signalling a confident move toward self-sufficiency and capital formation. Other key categories of borrowing demonstrate targeted financial planning and responsible credit use such as, 12% for Home renovation/construction (vs 15% in 2024), 4% for Education loans (stable YoY), 2% for Marriage loans (vs 5% in 2024), and 4% for Vehicle loans (vs 6% in 2024).

Digital Adoption: Fueling Financial Empowerment

Digital adoption has emerged as a central driver of financial empowerment, marking a decisive shift toward a tech-driven credit ecosystem. Women and youth are emerging as the proactive seekers of Smart Credit, driving digital learning and usage. Metros and rising cities are setting new benchmarks in mobile-first finance, and Digital literacy and trust are becoming the essential enablers for the next phase of India’s credit evolution.

The study finds that 65% of borrowers now use mobile banking, highlighting a growing comfort with digital transactions. Mobile banking adoption is led by metros (71%) and the South region (68%). Among cities, Delhi NCR (83%), Kochi (74%), and Chennai (73%) are clear frontrunners, while emerging markets like Bhopal and Chandigarh at 54%, signalling the need for focused literacy initiatives. Millennials (67%) and Gen Z (64%) are the most active users, reflecting their growing confidence in managing finances digitally.

57% of borrowers shop online, with women (66%) surpassing men (55%), highlighting how digital convenience is empowering women to manage household purchases and finances independently. Gen Z (65%) leads online adoption, followed by Millennials (59%), while Gen X (48%) continues to rely on traditional methods, showing a generational shift in digital comfort. Regionally, the East (70%) leads digital commerce, driven by cities like Kolkata (74%) and Patna (68%), followed by the North (57%), West (53%), and South (51%).

Internet banking usage has climbed to 46%, with Gen Z (51%) and Millennials (49%) leading the charge. Cities such as Chennai (59%) and Delhi NCR (53%) record the highest usage, reflecting strong digital trust and maturity. Interestingly, major financial hubs like Mumbai (39%) and Bengaluru (39%) lag, indicating that infrastructure alone does not guarantee adoption, consumer habits and trust play equally critical roles.

While digital penetration is deep, financial literacy remains the next big priority. Over 57% of consumers express interest in learning financial skills from reputed organisations, with women (66%) and Gen Z (65%) showing the strongest enthusiasm. This reflects a growing realisation that financial empowerment depends not just on access, but also on awareness. Regionally, the East (70%), led by Kolkata (74%), again stands out for its proactive learning mindset. Metros and Tier-1 cities also saw a sharp rise by 27 and 21 points respectively, indicating growing consumer intent to strengthen financial confidence alongside digital capability.

Informed Borrowing: Balancing Affordability, Trust, and Value

The study highlights that modern borrowers are becoming more analytical, value-conscious, and trust-driven. Borrowing decisions today reflect a fine balance between affordability, speed, and credibility. Before taking a loan, nearly half (46%) assess EMI feasibility, while 33% consult friends or family, and 31% review their credit scores. Interest rates and total repayment value (46%), quick disbursal (38%), and flexible closure options (37%) remain the top product considerations.

Trust continues to be the cornerstone of credit decisions. Two-thirds (66%) of borrowers prefer credible lenders even at higher EMIs — a sentiment strongest among Millennials, metro and Tier 1 audiences. Interest rate sensitivity is led by Millennials (48%), while men (46%) prioritize EMI affordability and women (46%) rely more on personal advice. Millennials (47%) and Gen X (46%) remain slightly more affordability-driven than Gen Z (43%).

Regional patterns add further nuance. Borrowers in North, West, and East India place greater emphasis on EMI feasibility (49–54%), whereas those in the South focus more on credit scores (50%) and service quality. EMI awareness is highest in Bhopal (63%), Kolkata (57%), and Patna (49%), while reliance on personal networks dominates in Chennai (67%) and Bengaluru (57%). Credit score awareness peaks in Bengaluru (70%) and Chennai (60%), with lender reputation valued most in Chennai (54%), Mumbai (37%), and Lucknow (37%).

Digital Loan Journey: India’s Shift to Click-First Credit

The study reveals a decisive shift toward digital-first borrowing, driven by convenience, transparency, and accessibility, positioning online lending as the dominant channel for India’s credit future. In 2025, 51% of borrowers preferred taking loans online, marking a 10 percentage-point increase from last year and surpassing POS and bank visits (30%) as the primary mode of borrowing. This trend is strongest among Millennials (54%) and Gen Z (50%), underscoring the comfort and confidence of younger, tech-savvy consumers in navigating digital credit journeys.

Tier 1 cities are now leading India’s digital borrowing wave, signalling the rapid penetration of technology beyond metros. North India leads overall with 59% of borrowers opting for online channels, followed closely by the West, where Pune and Ludhiana each record 64% digital uptake. Chandigarh (42%), Bengaluru (41%), and Ahmedabad (41%) emerge as the top digital-loan cities, while Mumbai (22%), Lucknow (27%), and Jaipur (27%) show slower adoption.

Emerging Lending: The Rise of Embedded Finance and Contextual Credit

Embedded finance and EMI cards are redefining India’s lending ecosystem, making credit more contextual and frictionless. Nearly half (49%) of borrowers show interest in embedded finance solutions integrated within digital ecosystems, an adoption trend led by Gen Z (58%), women (51%), and metro audiences seeking speed, convenience, and seamless integration with e-commerce and lifestyle platforms.

Metro cities (50%) and Tier 2 towns (43%) have seen a notable rise in interest (up 14 and 8 percentage points respectively), showcasing the widening reach of embedded lending. The South zone leads this growth, up 32 points to 49%, with Chennai (55%), Bengaluru (52%), and Hyderabad (50%) topping adoption charts. In the North, Chandigarh (55%) and Lucknow (53%) dominate despite a marginal dip in the latter. The East continues steady progress, led by Ranchi (53%), Patna (51%), and Kolkata (49%), while in the West, Pune (49%), Mumbai (47%), and Ahmedabad (45%) maintain strong interest levels.

EMI cards remain the most widely used lending instrument, preferred by 65% of borrowers, marking a 22-basis-point rise year-on-year.

Credit as an Enabler: From Borrowing for Survival to Borrowing for Success

The most common near-term purposes for borrowing are starting or expanding a business (34%) and buying a home (28%), highlighting India’s dual ambition of economic mobility and home ownership

Men (35%) are more focused on business expansion, while women (33%) prioritise home buying. Gen Z emerges as the most aspirational cohort, with 35% trying to start a business along with 32% aiming to buy a home. In terms of aiming at home ownership, Gen Z is ahead of both Millennials and Gen X. Metros (32%) show higher intent for home ownership, whereas Tier 1 cities (37%) lean toward entrepreneurship. East India (44%) leads in entrepreneurial ambition, especially Patna (52%) and Ranchi (47%). Among metros, Delhi NCR (37%) stands out for home-buying intent, while Jaipur (42%) and Bengaluru (41%) reflect higher debt caution. Secondary goals include children’s education (13%) and home renovation (11%), while discretionary purposes such as international travel (1%), purchasing 4 wheelers (6%) and 2 wheelers (4%) and lifestyle upgrades (2%) remain limited, reflecting a pragmatic borrowing mindset.

Encouragingly, the perception of credit as a tool of empowerment continues to grow. 51% of respondents say loans have helped them achieve goals otherwise out of reach, with the sentiment strongest in Tier 2 towns (54%) and cities such as Ludhiana (58%), Bhopal (56%), Dehradun (56%), Jaipur (55%), and Patna (52%). Two-thirds (65%) view loans as a stepping stone to major life goals such as education, housing, and entrepreneurship, led by Gen Z (68%) and Tier 1 cities (67%), with Mumbai (70%) topping metros. However, women (42%) are more debt-averse than men (35%), indicating greater financial caution.

Data Privacy: The Transparency Mandate and the Awareness Gap

Data privacy emerges as a crucial concern amid growing digital adoption. 23% of respondents fully understand data privacy rules, a 10-percentage point rise from last year, while 78% have only partial or no awareness of how lending companies handle their data. Cities such as Ludhiana, Bengaluru, Ranchi, Kochi, and Hyderabad emerge as leading hubs for heightened privacy expectations.

The study surveyed borrowers aged 18–55 years across 17 major cities (Tier 1 & 2), covering diverse income groups and professions. The sample comprised predominantly males, with an average age of 33 years and an average monthly income of ₹34,000.

Sunny Side Up Launches A New Campaign For NCL Group's Bison Panel

The campaign 'Bison Panel, Original hi lo ji' aims to combat category ambiguity

Sunny Side Up, an integrated communications agency, has announced the launch of a new campaign for NCL Group’s Bison Panel, the long-established leader in the Cement Bonded Particle Board (CBPB) category. The campaign utilises the message ‘Original hi lo ji’ to encourage customers and trade partners to select the authentic CBPB board.

The campaign addresses market ambiguity where alternative materials are presented as CBPB and referred to as Bison. The strategy focuses on reinforcing Bison Panel’s original category status. The television commercial (TVC) depicts a customer confronting a dealer after receiving a misleading product, using the scenario to highlight the importance of selecting genuine CBPB boards.

Shyam Nair, Creative Director, Sunny Side Up said, “We live in a trust deficit society, but also an increasingly assertive consumer class that demands and values authenticity. While the messaging for the campaign is simple - it revolves around the key idea of what the right choice in this category has always been.”

The TVC of the campaign ‘Bison Panel, Original hi lo ji’ is produced by Twenty Seventh Films and directed by Amit Satyaveer Singh.

Mr. Ravi Pingali of NCL Industries Limited commented on the brand’s positioning, “Bison Panel has maintained a standard of reliability and quality for over four decades. This campaign reinforces our leadership position and our commitment to enabling customers to make informed choices within the category. ‘Original hi lo ji’ formalises our long-standing brand promise.”
The integrated campaign is live across television, digital platforms, outdoor (OOH), and retail touchpoints.

SAI International School, Bhubaneswar, a leading educational institution, hosted SAITED 2025, one of India’s largest school-based science and technology fests envisioned by Late Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, Founder of SAI International Education Group on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. The fest witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 5,000 students across government and private schools in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

This year’s theme, “Infinite Possibilities, Endless Realities: Science Beyond the Omniverse!”, set the tone for a day dedicated to exploration, experimentation, and innovative STEM learning. The campus came alive as young learners engaged in hands-on activities, showcased prototypes, and explored new-age scientific concepts.

The event was graced by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, who formally inaugurated the fest and engaged with the student innovators. In his address, Shri Majhi said, “Events like SAITED must be encouraged across Odisha as they play a vital role in strengthening STEM learning among students. When a SAI Angan student asked how he manages microgravity, he shared that although it initially feels as if the body has forgotten its basic behaviour, with even simple tasks turning into amusing challenges that the mind adapts quickly, teaching astronauts to move slowly, push gently, and embrace the unforgettable feeling of floating. Addressing another student who asked how he deals with fear in space, he emphasised that fear is natural, but rigorous training becomes a stabilising anchor, allowing astronauts to remain mission-focused and purposeful even thousands of kilometres above Earth. In response to a Government School student who wanted to know how it felt to enter space and what Earth looked like from there, he described the indescribable stillness of crossing into space and the breathtaking sight of a borderless blue planet suspended in darkness, a view that profoundly transforms one’s perspective. Adding to the intellectual energy of the session, two SAI Angan students posed highly advanced questions on isotopic propulsion and calculating transfer windows for a Trans-Lunar Injection, prompting Group Captain Shukla to commend their exceptional scientific curiosity and depth of understanding, reflecting the spirit of innovation and inquiry that defined SAITED 2025.
