Organic India Felicitates The Heroes Of Indian Agriculture With Dharti Mitr Award At The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival 2022

The winner of the first Dharti Mitr award 2017 Mr. Bharat Bhushan Tyagi, was bestowed with the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in India in 2019.

The winners of the Dharti Mitr awards 2021, felicitated by Bollywood actress Lara Dutta and Col. Tushar Joshi during the Dada Saheb Phalke International Film Festival, were Nathani Upendrbhai Dayabhai from Gujrat who won the first prize of INR. 5 Lakhs, Malleshappa Gulappa Bisirotti from Karnataka who won the second prize of INR. 3 Lakhs the third prize of INR. 1 Lakhs each went to Devaraddi Agasanakoppa from Karnataka, Rawal Chand and Urmila Ur Rubi Pareek from Rajasthan.

Mainstreaming NFTs Will Open Up Huge Opportunities, Opine Industry Leaders


Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) are the latest craze in India’s digital space. An NFT is a digital asset like real-world objects such as art, music, in-game objects and videos, to name a few. Opportunities are tremendous. But challenges are also numerous, in terms of regulation, taxation and acceptance of NFTs in the mainstream. Blockchain and Crypto Assets Council (BACC), a council under the aegis of Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), organized a major virtual conference, NFTIndia, on February 24, to discuss such opportunities and challenges in the way ahead for mainstreaming NFTs in India. Leading figures of the NFT and metaverse world took part in the conference. 

The world of NFTs is truly diverse. India’s digital art space, for example, is witnessing a revolution through NFTs. Union Bank Launches ‘Union MSMERuPay Credit Card’ In Indian Market


* The card will be a new digital payment tool available to the MSME Customers of Union Bank of India for meeting their Business related operational expenses with interest free credit upto 50 days.

* MSMEs will also be benefitted with accidental insurance coverage, lounge access, and other rewards being offered by NPCI on RuPay cards.

Union Bank of India in association with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) today launched ‘Union MSME RuPay Credit Card’ with an aim to provide digital delivery of Finance to Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises(MSMEs) in the current phase of progression towards a digital economy. The dedicated card for MSMEs is available to eligible borrowers of Union Bank of India and will provide a simplified payment mechanism to MSMEs to meet their business-related operational expenses.

With Union MSME RuPay Credit Card, the MSME borrowers will be able to enjoy an interest-free credit period of upto 50 days on their business spends. The Card also offers EMI facility to the Customers on their business-related purchases. MSMEs will also get specially curated efficient business services on this Card which will help them in taking their business on most of the digital platforms. Additionally, they will  also  be   benefitted   in   the    form   of accidental insurance coverage of upto Rs. 10 Lacs, domestic airport lounge access of 2 per quarter and other rewards using this Card.

Sepaking on the occasion, Shri Nidhu Saxena, Executive Diector, Union Bank of India said “To improve the digital delivery channel in servicing the MSME clientele in fast growing tech savvy economy, Union Bank of India, in partnership with NPCI, has launched Union MSME Credit Card, a first of its kind in the Industry. This Credit Card will reduce the demand for cash withdrawal by MSME for business expenses besides simplifying their payment mechanism. With the newly launched Credit Card facility coupled with the regular working capital limits, MSMEs can reap the benefits of best in class products being made available to them by the Bank.”

KDEM Enables 18 New ESDM Companies To Set-Up Operations In Karnataka


* Creates 15000 new jobs across the state

The Karnataka Digital Economy Mission’s (KDEM) efforts to underpin the growth of the Electronics, System, Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) Industry has received wide acceptance from the industry as 18 large corporations have given their Letter of Intent (LoI) to set up operations in the state. This comes at a time when the Government of India recently announced its Semiconductor Policy to promote the manufacturing of semiconductor chips in the country.

Over 50 top global and Indian ESDM leaders, bureaucrats, and officials from KDEM, India Electronics & Semiconductor Association (IESA) along with the Dept of Electronics, IT BT S&T, and Industries department with Lahari allied at an event in Bengaluru to share their views on fortifying Karnataka’s position in the ESDM space. Proxelera Pvt. Ltd, Wuerth Electronic India Pvt. Ltd., Virtulive Technologies Pvt Ltd, Gopalan aerospace Pvt Ltd, Teccheren batteries and Kaynes Technology, Rapture Innovation Labs, Physics Motors, Astr Defence, nanoPix Integrated Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and SLN Technologies are some of the renowned companies that feature in the LoI list.

The event also laid emphasis on ESDM focus clusters like Mysuru and Hubli to leverage the existing talent and ecosystem while reinforcing KDEM’s role of skill development for the sector, thereby championing growth beyond Bengaluru. Furthermore, to provide added impetus to growth and talent availability for the ESDM sector in the State, KDEM in association with IESA and IIT-B announced the launch of VLSI Design Skills. Expected to be launched on 15 April 2022, the new program aims to develop world-class talent pool in Karnataka in a structured manner.

In addition, Lahari, a Government of India, Govt of Karnataka and Indian Electronics Industry Initiative that aims at providing advance electronics test facility of electronics products, also signed a MOU with Electronics Sector Skill Council (ESSC) India to further boost Karnataka’s ability to become a sustainable and scalable talent hub for the ESDM sector.

Speaking at this momentous occasion Shri B V Naidu, Chairman, Karnataka Digital Economy Mission said, “As an enabler of conducive business environment in the State of Karnataka, KDEM was established with the vision of acting as a knowledge bridge between the industry and the Government with a strong focus on innovation, start-ups, ESDM among others. ADW To Provide Platform For Growth, Funding To 47 Defence Startups


The third edition of Ahmedabad Design Week – ADW 3.0 – which is being organised by Karnavati University, will become a big platform for defence sector start-ups to be able to showcase their ideas and breakthrough innovations before the investors and experts. Some 47 startups are set to benefit from this opportunity. This year’s theme for ADW 3.0 is Design and Innovation in Defence and Aerospace – a topic of strategic importance. With 25,000 Sapling across Bangalore, Hyderabad and Coimbatore, this project focuses on improving biodiversity, creating a microclimate to abate city pollution, providing naturally grown fruits and medicinal herbs to the local communities, raising the local water table, and reducing at least 5,000 tonnes of carbon emission over the next ten years. BGSW with their NGO partner, Heartfulness will collaborate with local communities to take care of saplings and provide the necessary technology for geotagging and monitoring their growth for at least two years to ensure nutrient management. 

The 25,000 saplings will be planted using Forests by Heartfulness proprietary Heartyculture High Density (HCHD) plantation method. This method involves extensive soil reconstitution using Activated Biochar, Vermicompost, Cow manure, and Cocopeat. BGSW will facilitate the plantation of over 100 different species of trees to create a mini forest. The trees selected for the plantation drive are native, endemic and support one another through an extensive root network.

Vogue Conducts Unique Workshop On Tanjore Painting For Apparel


The Vogue Institute of Art and Design (VIAD) conducted a one- day workshop for students today at the institute’s premises. Tanjore Painting Expert Nagashree B N conducted the session. This unique workshop was organised to restore Tanjore painting and to train students with the latest art of Tanjore Painting on apparel.

This classical South Indian Painting style is characterized by its rich colors, glittering 22ct gold foil & precious stone/bead inlay work. The delicate gesso work gives 3D effects. . In earlier times, the paintings were created with natural pigments. Now it's been replaced with chemical colors. Traditionally the paintings are done for wall art. Now it is being explored on fabric for apparel like blouse, sarees and kurtas.

Nagashree BN, Tanjore Painting Expert took the students through the traditional representation and technical live demonstration of the Tanjore style of painting on apparel like sarees, blouse, kurtas etc. The students were trained in contemporary Tanjore art which included learning to paint, use of vibrant colors, 3D liners & metallic paints to create an 3D extravagant depiction of Thanjavur inspired traditional art form.  The paintings created by students at the workshop were put on display at the Vogue Institute Gallery.

Talking about the unique workshop, Nishank Kariappa, General Manager, Vogue Institute of Art and Design said, “The students got a highly participatory exposure to Tanjore Painting on fabric for outfits for the first time. Tanjore painting originated from the town of Thanjavur (anglicized as Tanjore). The usage of rich vibrant colors, glittering gold foils, with gesso work explored their creative realms which can be infused and inspired with their designs on outfits like blouse, kurta or a saree.”

In today's world, hobbyists are inspired by this unique traditional art form & have been painting them on the clothes they wear using fabric painting techniques. A classical art form has reached the common man in a different style. But the overall experience of the process is overwhelming. Over the years this particular art form has been transformed. In contemporary art world, these paintings are done on canvas, paper, MDF, home decor, fabrics, jewellery, accessories etc.

Chaithra Chander , HOD (Diploma branch), Vogue Institute of Art and Design said, “India is a country known for its beautiful tradition and culture. India has many art forms which are recognized globally. Tanjore is one such classical art form from southern India. It is a unique form of painting with vibrant colours and mythological stories, which was initially made on wooden planks, In recent days this art form has been adopted onto fabrics especially South Indian silk textiles.”

Tanjore Painting Expert, Nagashree BN apprised, “Tanjore Painting on fabric was a workshop uniquely designed for beginners to explore their artistic side. This one day workshop helped the students to create Tanjore inspired motif on fabric.”

Bhavikaa T Dhariwall , Student, Vogue Institute of Art and Design who participated in the workshop said, “I joined this workshop because it sounded very interesting. The Tanjore painting workshop was very helpful as we understood the intricacies of this traditional form of Indian art which will allow us to use these in our future designs. I am extremely thankful to our teachers for having organized this for us to be able to widen our horizons and help us learn some old forms of art which is not very common these days.

SJVN – Creduce (JV) In 1500 MW, Largest Indian Hydro Power Based Carbon Credit Deal


Creduce Technologies Private Limited – HCPL JV announces winning the bid for India’s single largest Hydro Power Carbon Credits project with Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd. This project under joint venture could result in creation of more than 80 million carbon credits from Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam’s vintage project making it the biggest public-private collaboration for claim and trade of carbon credits in the country in recent times. Looking at the current International Carbon Market Prices, This carbon credit project activity is poised to fetch approx USD 100 Million revenue into SJVN’s books.

The Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVN) that began with a single project and State operation (i.e. India’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh), today has commissioned several projects totalling more than 2500 MW of installed capacity. Besides the Nathpa Jhakri project SJVN also has Rampur Hydro Power project in Himachal Pradesh with a capacity of 500 mw together with consolidated installed and upcoming wind and solar power contributing to another 500 mw.

SJVN decided to avail the carbon credits and Invited Bids from the eligible Service providers. Creduce – HPCL JV emerged as the winner of rigorous tendering process and Won the Project.  With this project activity, SJVN and Creduce are also aiming to align with the new rules emerging from the Paris Climate Agreement.

The additional revenue will also bolster efforts for SJVN’s additional projects that it is implementing and operating in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat and Arunachal Pradesh in India besides neighbouring countries of Nepal and Bhutan.
