Axis Bank Announces The Winners Of LLM Bankathon 1.0


* The Bank felicitated team Decadex led by Aditya Pal, Mayank Bansal, Abhinav Narag and Aditya Gupta from Delhi and Chandigarh as the finale winners

* The hackathon witnessed overwhelming participation from over 5800+ tech enthusiasts, startups, developers, aspiring students, and entrepreneurs

* Axis Bank will adopt and integrate the prototype created by the winners into its banking model to enhance overall customer experience.  

Axis Bank, one of the largest private sector banks in India, announced the winners of ‘LLM Bankathon 1.0,’ a pan-India hackathon that aims to promote innovation in the evolving field of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI. The Bank felicitated ‘Team Decadex’, led by Aditya Pal, Mayank Bansal, Abhinav Narag and Aditya Gupta from Delhi and Chandigarh as the finale winners, followed by Team AI Overflow led by Chethan Reddy, Subhanu Roy, Harsha Vardhan from Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal as the first runners-up, and Team LLMatizer led by Himanshu Singh, Harshit Chaurasia, Prateek Pal, Maida Iftikhar Chikan from Uttar Pradesh as the second runners-up. 

Axis Bank rolled out the hackathon to all people including students, freelancers, start-ups, developers etc who are familiar with coding and can implement Large Language Models for solving banking related issues. The Bank roped in Amazon Web Services (AWS) for providing technical support to the hackathon. AWS, the cloud-computing behemoth brought its vast expertise in scalability, reliability, and security, assuring a smooth and highly interactive platform for all participants. 

Speaking on the felicitation of the winners Mr. N. Balaji, President & Head - Business Intelligence Unit (BIU), Axis Bank, said, “Through this initiative, we aim to engage with tech enthusiasts for co-learning and co-creating technology and business applications in a collaborative and fun way. The LLM Bankathon 1.0 is not just a hackathon, it’s a journey of learning and innovating, a chance to redefine the boundaries of Generative AI in the banking space. This hackathon provides a platform for brilliant minds to engage with each other and bridge the gap between traditional banking methodologies and artificial intelligence. We believe that innovative solutions from this hackathon will form the foundation upon which the future of our banking ecosystem will be built. These developments are set to create a ripple effect across the banking industry.”  

A six-members’ jury selected the top 10 finalists based on a rigorous set of parameters such as business potential, ease of implementation, functionality, innovation, scalability, uniqueness, and the overall completeness and usability of the idea or prototype. The finalists were felicitated by N. Balaji, President & Head - Business Intelligence Unit and Subrat Mohanty, Group Executive - Banking Operations and Transformations from Axis Bank. The finale winner was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakhs while the first runner-up team received Rs. 1.5 lakhs, and the second runner-up team received Rs. 1 lakh. The top 10 finalists also received goodies from Axis Bank and Amazon.
