Cybersecurity has become increasingly important as software and internet have become omni present in our lives. The industry is expected to grow by 44% over the next five years according to a Nasscom report. As the industry grows, it will require more cybersecurity professionals. However, according to the latest cybersecurity report 2022, 40% of businesses claim that their cybersecurity team is understaffed and to compound this 60% of businesses have opened cybersecurity roles in India. In this context, SecurEyes, a leading global cyber security specialized consulting services firm is trying to bridge this gap. It has announced a training program in cybersecurity and its 8th batch will start from January 2023 and the 9th batch will commence from April/May 2023.
Vasantha Krishnamurthy, Chief of Staff, SecurEyes says, "We are announcing the online training course for these two batches and each batch will have 12 weeks of training and will combine theory and practical on a 50-50 basis which includes 50 hours of project training online. Each batch will have about 45-60 students”. In order to keep up pace with the rapidly evolving field it plans to update the syllabus of the course every three months.
This program will be online and will result in the SecurEyes Cyber Security Certification Program (CSCP). On completion of the classroom hours, students would move forward to a six-month on- job training on live projects.
Vasantha remarked that a CSCP certification will help them in getting a job in any IT firm and In fact, cyber security professionals get 2.75% more pay than other IT professionals.
Demand for cybersecurity is increasing rapidly as the business environment shifts to cloud storage space and internet administration. As the internet is becoming more widespread today, commercial organization data and personal data are at risk of being exploited, she adds.
According to SecurEyes, there is a shortage of 3.18 million of cybersecurity professionals in the world today and is growing at 11-12% annually. In India as well there is a need for a large pool of employees.
