Team India fought hard to earn the second runners-up position in the finals of a closely contested Castrol Super Mechanic Asia Pacific competition for car mechanics.
Representing Team India were Sachin Tiwari, Kirpal Singh, and Sanjeev Sharma - winners of the India leg of the Castrol Super Mechanic Cars competition held in Mumbai in August. The team competed against representatives from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore in theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in car service and maintenance. Judging by their success at the Asia Pacific level, the Castrol Super Mechanic Contest – India’s leading mechanic upskilling programme – has proven to be instrumental in terms of recognising and developing the potential within the mechanic community.
Commenting on the Castrol Super Mechanic contest, Head of Trade Marketing – Castrol India Limited, Siddhesh Vaity said, “As the manufacturer of leading engine oil brands, Castrol EDGE and Castrol MAGNATEC, we strive to not just reward and recognize our mechanics, but also continuously support them in their efforts to improve their knowledge and technical expertise. To this end, the Castrol Asia Pacific Cars Super Mechanic contest is an excellent platform where they can showcase their skills and gain valuable exposure at a regional level. We hope this experience will in turn help them grow their business and provide enhanced service to their customers.”
Commenting on the team’s historic win, Kirpal Singh said, “We are so happy to be able to represent the country at an international event. It was a grueling few weeks, we are thankful for all the support we have received, and the immense learning we have got during the Castrol Super Mechanic journey. We would like to thank Castrol for this opportunity and aim to even better next year.”
