TE
Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity, has announced it has
completed the acquisition of the telecom business of Raychem RPG (RRPG), a
joint venture company co-owned by TE and RPG Enterprises. The acquired business
will now become part of TE's Network Solutions segment.
As part of the acquisition, TE
recently inaugurated the new manufacturing facility in Vasai, Mumbai, which
will be the hub for telecommunication engineering services supplying the fiber
market in the Southeast Asia region. With this acquisition, TE strengthens its
local telecom engineering and manufacturing expertise in India.
“We aspire to become the market leader in the telecommunications sector and the acquisition will further strengthen the foundation of our company, which is admired for outstanding customer service, technology leadership and product innovation,” said KK Shetty, director, India and SAARC, Network Solutions, TE India.
RRPG
was established in 1989 by Raychem Corporation and RPG Enterprises, and has
completed 25 successful years in India. TE acquired Raychem Corporation in
1999, and the operations were run as a 50-50 joint venture between TE and RPG
Enterprises. The joint venture company manufactures and markets cable joints,
transformers and insulation products in the energy space which will continue
and remain unaffected.
