Embassy Group, in partnership with The Anonymous Indian Charitable Trust (TAICT), is proud to highlight the remarkable achievements and transformative impact of the EcoGram Project since its inception in 2016. EcoGram has been instrumental in empowering communities and fostering sustainable development in North Bengaluru.
EcoGram is more than an environmental initiative; it is a story of transformation, empowerment, and sustainable growth. Through the collaborative efforts of Embassy, TAICT, the Bettahalasuru Grama Panchayat, and the community, EcoGram has reached significant milestones, leaving a lasting positive impact on both the environment and the lives of the people it serves.
Myriam Shankar, Founding Trustee of TAICT, shared her insights on the project’s journey and said, "EcoGram has been a beacon of hope for our communities. It’s not just about waste management; it’s about empowering individuals to take ownership of their environment and create a better tomorrow for themselves and future generations."
Key Achievements of EcoGram:
Serviced 4,868 waste generators, ensuring comprehensive community reach.
We collected 1,118 metric tonnes of dry waste and 1,493 metric tonnes of wet waste, demonstrating a commitment to cleanliness and environmental stewardship.
Maintained a segregation level of 91%, ensuring efficient recycling and waste management practices.
Preserved 4,745 trees and conserved 10,150 cubic metres of landfill space, contributing to increased green cover and reduced landfill burden.
Saved 854 kiloliters of fuel and 1,894 megawatt-hours of energy, showcasing the project's commitment to sustainability and resource conservation.
