95 students were awarded prizes for excellence in education, sports, and extracurricular activities.
Bengaluru, 27th April 2023: Department of Commerce Manipal Academy of Higher Education MAHE celebrated its annual day Ceremony on 26th April 2023. The event was held at the TMA Pai auditorium and spear headed by Dr Sandeep Shenoy , Head of the Department of Commerce MAHE, Manipal and Mr SP Kar, the Director-PR MAHE Manipal was the Chief Guest of the function. The student council presented the report along with various faculty coordinators of Academics, Placements, Internationalization Management fears, and sports were presented at the event. The department has unveiled the e- yearbook for the year 2023.
Dr Sandeep Shenoy ,Head of the Department of Commerce MAHE, Manipal said “Three Students of the Department of Commerce, MAHE Manipal from 2023 graduating batch, Rachel Santis, Sinchana H S, and Anju Sajeev have cleared their Strategic Professional level ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK) papers, the exams were held in March 2023. Their achievements have no bounds, as they have accomplished this remarkable feat of completing all four strategic professional-level papers and are eligible to be ACCA affiliates even before they graduate with an undergraduate degree. This extraordinary achievement has brought immense pride to the Department.”
Mr SP Kar, the Director-PR MAHE Manipal, said “Despite some hardship, struggles, and motivation it brings immense pleasure to witness and address the students to celebrate this part of the journey of completing the course with commendable achievements and memories of a lifetime. As I stand here, I feel energized seeing the youthful, vibrant faces of the outgoing PG/ UG students and their sheer enthusiasm tends to transport me back to my college days when opportunities were comparatively limited.”
Rachel Santis, Sinchana H S, and Anju Sajeev are accomplished students enrolled in the B.Com. (Professional) programme of the Department of Commerce, MAHE Manipal. This programme is integrated with ACCA certification and accredited by ACCA with 9 paper exemptions. Students of the Department have to complete only four strategic professional-level papers of ACCA to become eligible to be ACCA affiliates. These 3 Students have now joined a long list of students from the Department of Commerce who have become ACCA affiliates, including 21 who have attained this accolade in the past three years. Currently, at least 51 students from ongoing academic batches are in various stages of completing their strategic professional-level papers, and the department is poised to produce several more ACCA affiliates in the near future. The Department of Commerce, MAHE Manipal, takes great pride in its students' accomplishments and wishes them continued success in their future endeavours.
