On the account of the 64th Karnataka Rajyotsava, Vedanta Ltd Chitradurga Mines observed a grand celebration to rejoice & revere the leaders who were pertinent in the state’s formation. To kick-start the day, a Sathya Narayan puja was conducted amidst the Vedanta family invoking the blessings of the Lord. Mr. Ashok Sangenahalli, a notable laureate popularly known for his work, “Nanu Buddhanu illa”, attended as the Chief guest on this special occasion. The ceremonious flag hoisting took place in the presence of Mr. Ashok Sangenahalli, Mr. Shrishaila Gouda - Mines Cheif Operating Officer, Mr. Rahul Roongta - Mines Chief Finance Officer, Mr. Chandrakant Patil - Mines External Relations Officer and Mr. Manjunatha - member of Meghnahalli Gram Panchayat. They were also joined by locals from the peripheral communities and direct & indirect employees. Post the flag hoisting ceremony, two minutes of silence was observed in tribute to the fallen martyrs. More than 1000 attendees were present at the ceremony.
While addressing the gathering, Mr. Ashok Sangenahalli said, “Since the company marked its presence in this community - a lot of development has taken place, in terms of hiring, community needs & environment. I wish this company continues to grow.”
On the occasion, Mr. Krishna Reddy, Director, Iron Ore, Karnataka said, “Our operations are a success mainly because of the warmth & cooperation we received from the people of Karnataka. We uphold our commitment to work for our communities & developing the state’s economy”.
