Celebi India Bags Ground-handling Contract At The Chennai International Airport

Celebi India today announced its appointment has submitted its acceptance to the Airport Director at the Airport Authority of India, Chennai, and has started fulfilling the requirements to start the services. Toyota Kirloskar Motor Announces The Inauguration Of Its First Regional Stockyard In Northern India


* New stockyard at Faruknagar in Haryana promises quicker delivery of vehicles delighting customers across seven states in North India

In line with its Customer-First philosophy of enabling easy access to world-class products and services to its customers, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced the inauguration of its first regional stockyard at Faruknagar in Haryana.

Ensuring a leaner and efficient distribution network across the region, the strategically located stockyard will reduce delivery time from the current 6-8 days to a maximum of two days for dealers in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal and Jammu & Kashmir.  This development by TKM will also benefit customers in the region who will now have speedier access to their favourite Toyota vehicles as a regional stockyard will ensure deliveries in the shortest possible time to dealers, considering proximity and availability to vast stock of all Toyota vehicles.

The five-acre stockyard which has a parking capacity of 900 vehicles, is the second such for TKM, following the launch of its first regional stockyard in Guwahati in 2020. The regional stock yard I Guwahati has majorly benefitted the dealers and customers in the North-eastern region of India. Furthermore, the Faruknagar stockyard will aid in speed, flexibility, cost reductions and more importantly CO2 reduction for, as dispatches from the TKM plant to the stockyard will be maximised through trains journeys. Currently, 60% of total TKM dispatches take place through trains and our aim is to increase the same to 80%, while being able to deliver 5,000 vehicles per month.

Embedded Security CTF 2022 Hackathon Hosted By The National Cyber CoE And IIT Madras

Data Security Council of India’s National Cyber CoE & Centre on Hardware-Security Entrepreneurship Research & Development (C-HERD) program in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology – Madras Campus (IIT Madras), organized the grand finale of Embedded Security CTF 2022 (Capture the Flag) dedicated to Hardware Security technology and skill development. The inauguration of the event was held this week at IIT Madras campus, receiving pan India participation from students, researchers and corporate teams from but not limited to Texas Instruments, Larsen and Toubro Infotech Limited, Deloitte India LLP, Sony India, Shell, Harman International India Pvt Ltd, Carrier Technologies and CDAC Hyderabad.

The launch was inaugurated by Dr.N Sarat Chandra Babu, Executive Director, SETS Chennai; Mr. Arpit Dubey, Director, National CoE – DSCI; Prof. Krishna Moorthy Sivalingam, Head of Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, IIT Madras; and Prof. Chester Rebeiro, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering.

This is a one-of-a-kind initiative in a key niche domain of Embedded security. The hackathon received immense response of 500 team registrations which included 1500+ participants across the nation. The problem statements of the CTF were based on Forensics, Crypto, Reversing, Nano Hardware, Networks, PWN, OSINT, and Web. The top 20 teams among the registrants, qualifying in two virtual rounds, designed, and evaluated by IIT madras, made it to the Grand Finale of Embedded Security CTF.

Over 48 hours of continuous hacking and brainstorming at the problem statements based on Chip Whisperer Nano hardware, the winners of the Embedded Security CTF 2022 were declared entitled for prize money of up to 5.75 Lac INR.

The key idea of this CTF was to identify the budding talent from the industry and academia in hardware security and engage with them for the upcoming initiatives and security operations of C-Herd, Centre for Hardware Security Entrepreneurship Research & Development, an initiative by IIT Kharagpur and IIT Madras within National CoE.

Dr. N Sarat Chandra Babu, Executive Director, SETS Chennai, said, “This Embedded Security CTF 2022 is a great effort by the Data Security Council of India and IIT Madras to bring the young hardware security talented enthusiast from corporate and academia under one roof. He also mentioned that today the world is living in a smart environment working with sensors, accelerators, wireless networks and IoT embedded systems, However, due to advancements cybersecurity threats can be encountered at various levels i.e., individual, organizational and national levels taking advantage of modern solutions to pose the risk of active and passive attacks. To fight against these attacks, researchers, and innovative youth like the finalist of this CTF should work on the various state-of-the-art countermeasures that are secure and effective enough to prevent cyberattacks.”

Prof. Chester Rabeiro, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, IIT Madras, said, "IIT Madras is in the frontier of hardware security research in the country, focusing on the design of secure embedded devices that keeps security as the primary objective along with performance and size. We follow a bottom-up approach making fundamental changes in the way computer hardware and Operating Systems are designed to develop secure devices with minimal overheads.”

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Wins The prestigious “RBNQA” Award


Manipal Academy of Higher Education has won the prestigious award for best practice competition 2022 Trophy for its unique process “Paperless examination using Exam pad (E – pad)” under the Education category. The competition was conducted by IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (RBNQA) Trust Mumbai.

The trophy was received at MAHE and was handed over by Lt. Gen. (Dr) M D Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor to Dr. Vinod V Thomas, Registrar Evaluation in a formal function recently at Manipal. The efforts of the Team quality and Compliance were appreciated by the vice chancellor for their support and cooperation throughout the application process.

(Dr) M D Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor said, “I feel privileged and honoured to be present here to celebrate the contributions and remarkable achievement of MAHE which has a great impact on the Environment by reducing the use of paper in Evaluation. The most important practice from an academic perspective is the possibility of outcome and competency analysis in an easy and fool proof manner due to the availability of complete examination data in an electronic format. Not only that the soft forms of question papers and student answer scripts made the data archival and retrieval process seamless.”

Further adding to his statement, he said, “Due to this robust and innovative technology, MAHE is now conducting all its examinations authentically and more transparently with improved operational efficiency. We are proud to contribute our bit to the environment.”

The aim behind the idea was to strictly prohibit the usage of papers for examinations as this process helped MAHE to reduce paper consumption drastically which in a way helped in protecting 500 trees during the past years.
