This not for profit initiative is a joint effort of Brigade Foundation and the highly reputed St. John’s Medical College and Hospital. The St. John’s Health Centre would cater to the neighbourhood and will eventually become a full-fledged hospital. The Health Center was inaugurated by His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, the Archbishop of Bangalore in the presence of Rev. Dr. Paul Parathazham, Director, St. John’s Medical College and Hospital, Mr. M R Jaishankar, CMD, Brigade Group and a limited audience, due to the current regulations.
The St. John’s Health Centre has commenced its services from June 25, 2020 and will cater to all the primary health care needs of a family and provide referral services where needed. The Centre will provide outpatient services, basic laboratory facility, radiology, ultrasound and a pharmacy. This will include general medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics, gynaecology and family medicine. There will also be skin, eye, dental, general surgery and ENT services. A basic first aid/casualty service will be available around the clock
According to His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, the Archbishop of Bangalore, “ This not-for-profit initiative is a collaborative effort of two Charitable Societies, the CBCI Society for Medical Education, which owns the St. John’s Medical College and Hospital, and Brigade Foundation. The health centre is well aligned with the original mission of St. John’s to make quality healthcare accessible and affordable especially to the underprivileged and the underserved.”
