Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Institution of Eminence Deemed to be university, concluded the third day of its 33rd Convocation on Sunday, 23 November 2025, in Manipal. The event highlighted MAHE’s commitment to nurturing competent graduates, encouraging transformative approaches, and promoting academic rigour and excellence across disciplines. On the third day of the convocation ceremony, 1,645 students received their degrees, including 58 PhD graduates, and 3 outstanding students were honored with the Dr. TMA Pai Gold Medal.

Delivering the convocation address as the Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Hany Eteiba, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, urged the graduating batch to build a legacy of kindness. He highlighted the importance of empathetic communication in today’s technology-driven world. “Effective communication is our bridge allowing us to translate knowledge into meaningful impact and care,” he noted. He reminded the graduates that, “knowledge and science gain true meaning only when paired with humanity, attentive listening, and genuine connection.”

Dr. Eteiba further advised the graduates to value collaboration, reminding them that, “no milestone is achieved alone, no success is created in isolation. He urged the graduates to value and learn from co-workers and treat them with respect.” He observed that “graduates must anchor their professional journey in trust, dignity, and human-centered leadership. He envisioned a future where technology and empathy work together for the greater good”. He noted that “achieving this requires moving forward with knowledge, integrity, compassion, and respect for everyone.”

This vision of human-centered leadership resonates with the address of Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, VSM (Retd), Vice Chancellor, MAHE, who highlighted the university’s initiatives to serve the local community and preserve living cultures. He emphasized “the importance of extending education beyond academics to foster care, compassion, and responsibility among students. By engaging learners in real-world experiences that enrich the environment and safeguard heritage, he outlined MAHE’s endeavours to nurture empathy, a global perspective and academic excellence.”

Continuing its focus on excellence and innovation, the ceremony honored individual achievements. Three students received the prestigious Dr. TMA Pai Gold Medal 2025: Ms. Nidhi S. (ME, Big Data Analytics, MSIS), Ms. Kashika Anil Kini (BCom Professional), and Ms. Zhara Mohiddin (IPM, Manipal Institute of Management) for their outstanding performance in their fields.

The gold medalists expressed their joy, sharing that the moment is deeply emotional, as their journey has come full circle. Expressing gratitude to MAHE, they noted that it is now time for them to give back to the institution and to the community. They reflected that this achievement marks not just an end, but the beginning of a new chapter of responsibility and contribution.

On the third day of the 33rd Convocation, MAHE celebrated the remarkable achievements of its graduates, highlighting its mission to nurture responsible, empathetic, human centric leaders ready for a tech-driven future. The day ended on an inspiring note, with students, families, and faculty eagerly anticipating more celebrations. MAHE will continue the 33rd convocation at the Bengaluru campus on 29th and 30th November 2025.
