~ Tata Steel Brand Protection team continues its action on counterfeit products ~
Tata Steel officials, in collaboration with the Bengaluru Police, conducted a raid on a retailer located in Virgonagar, for infringing the Tata brand name and selling counterfeit Tata branded Chaff Cutter blades illegally.
The products were being sold under the registered ‘TATA’ trademark and branding in an attempt to deceive consumers into believing that they were purchasing genuine Tata products.
Upon receiving information about the unscrupulous activity, Tata Steel along with the Bengaluru Police conducted the raid on the retailer and seized the counterfeit products on December 9, 2023. An FIR has been registered against the party under the provisions of the Copyright Act 1957.
Tata Steel’s products possess tremendous goodwill in the minds of the consumers by virtue of the quality of the products and any unauthorised use of its brand name on counterfeit products can cause damage to the brand’s reputation.
Tata Steel strongly condemns any unauthorised use of its trademarks and logos. To safeguard its brand reputation and goodwill, Tata Steel's dedicated brand protection team diligently monitors and takes decisive action against entities that infringe upon the brand's intellectual property rights, including counterfeiters.
The Company remains committed to taking legal action against any such illicit activities that undermine its assets and harm its customers. The Company urges consumers to purchase Tata Steel products only from authorized distributors and dealers to ensure the authenticity of the product.
