India got its first gold in Thomas cup – men - team championship defeating 14-time champion Indonesia. Thomas cup, sometimes called the World Men's Team Championships, is an international badminton competition among teams representing member nations of the Badminton World Federation, the sport's global governing body. Ram Baboo clocked 2.36.34 to break the previous national record in men’s 35km race walk (2.40.16) by nearly four minutes in the 36th National Games in 2022
