Punjab National Bank (PNB), nation’s leading public sector bank, on Sunday, organised a Walkathon under “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign to celebrate the 77th Independence Day. This initiative was inspired by the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign of Government of India under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav which aims to bring the Indian National Flag closer to the hearts of the Indian citizens.
PNB MD&CEO Shri Atul Kumar Goel along with other senior officials and staff of the bank participated in the Walkathon, which commenced from the PNB Head Office in Dwarka.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Atul Kumar Goel, MD&CEO, Punjab National Bank, said: “We are glad to commemorate the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign through the PNB Walkathon. This walkathon honours the valiant martyrs of our country who gave their lives in the struggle for freedom. This walkathon also serves as a reminder of our dedication to building an inclusive, tolerant, and self-sufficient nation. In order to make this day even more memorable and to remind us to be better citizens for our mother land, we request the citizens of our country to display our beloved TIRANGA at their homes.”
In addition to distributing and raising awareness about the Indian National Flag among the general public as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, PNB officials also reiterated their commitment to uphold the TIRANGA's honour and dignity.
