CollegeDekho, India’s largest and most trusted higher education services ecosystem which is known for building a better future for India’s youth through guidance and providing easy access to Colleges and Degrees is supporting a drive to create awareness about sustainable energy. In this latest endeavour to build a better future, it is supporting Sushil Reddy, Guinness World Record Holder for the longest journey on an electric bicycle (Solar Powered) in India as part of solar energy and electric mobility awareness cause - The SunPedal Ride.
As part of the cause’s latest initiative, CollegeDekho is supporting Sushil while he travels from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, covering a distance of around 5000+ KM using an electric vehicle. He’ll make some detours on his route to interact with students across the country. Sushil visited some prominent colleges in Bengaluru like Christ University, Alliance University, Ramaiah Institute of Management and IIM-B where he conducted seminars on the importance of e-mobility and choosing sustainable alternatives.
CollegeDekho began in 2015 with the vision to create a globally trusted student guidance ecosystem. Keeping in line with its vision, the company aims to not only guide the youth on education but also create awareness about following sustainable practices that benefit the environment as both education and sustainability are important pillars for powering a better future for India. Partnering with the SunPedal Ride, CollegeDekho aims to spread awareness amongst students about energy conservation methods to improve the environment and energy conservation, while presenting important facts about solar energy through talks in universities, colleges, and even small communities.
Commenting on this great initiative to power a better future for India, Ruchir Arora, Co-Founder and CEO of CollegeDekho said “CollegeDekho has always been at the forefront in guiding and empowering the youth to prepare them for a better future. Environment protection and sustainability, along with education are two pivotal topics that will impact the next generation and partnering with Sushil helps us instil the value of using renewable energy and sustainable transportation amongst the youth of our country. Additionally, the adoption of EVs and green technology will also open avenues for a large number of job opportunities in this field and we endeavour to equip our students to be informed on the nature of courses and also help them in developing the required skills to avail these jobs”
Upon receiving a positive reaction from the students in Bengaluru, Sushil Reddy said, “I am excited to embark on yet another journey for SunPedal ride and spread the message of sustainable living and adoption of clean energy. Climate change is a real issue, and we are glad to have like-minded partners like CollegeDekho to spread awareness to as many people as we can. We aim to leverage CollegeDekho’s popularity and reach amongst students across the country to raise awareness about environment conservation and encourage them to join us in this noble mission to power a better future for India.”
Sushil Reddy commenced his journey from Kanyakumari on March 13th and reached Bengaluru after spending some time with students in Kochi and Mysuru. His next destination is Hyderabad.
