India’s Gaming Championship TEGC Offers Chance To Win Prize Of Rs 10,00,000


The finale will be broadcasted online on the official Taiwan Excellence India channels.

While Covid-19 impaired the system and forced people to lead humdrum day to day lives restricted indoors, the gaming world opened doors to new adventures for hundreds and thousands of Esports enthusiasts as well as amateurs looking for a getaway. Taking this excitement a notch higher, Taiwan Excellence (TE) is all set to roll out the eighth edition of their annual and India’s longest-running gaming championship — Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup (TEGC) 2021.

Sticking to the virtual format yet maintaining the excitement of the competition, TEGC will discover, promote and celebrate the best Indian gamers and teams. The teams will be battling for the ultimate championship in top Esports games such as Valorant, Rainbow 6 Siege and Call of Duty Mobile.

Despite the pandemic, gaming industry is reported to be at an all-time high. As per an EY report, India’s Esports industry is estimated to produce an economic impact of over INR100 billion in the next four years through investments, in-app purchases, direct industry revenues and additional revenues. Games popularized by Esports tournaments will generate revenue worth INR14 billion through in-app purchases. The industry is also expected to grow over INR300 million of ancillary revenue by 2025.

The teams will separately participate in four qualifier rounds; subsequently the winning teams from each qualifier will compete in white-knuckle finale rounds to be held on 4thand 5thDecember. The registrations will start from 17thAugust and the qualifier rounds will start from 16thSeptember, continuing till 21stNovember. The finale of Valorant and CODM will be broadcasted online on the official Taiwan Excellence India channels and, the winners will be presented with a huge prize pool of INR 10,00,000/-.

This year TEGC will be power-driven by some of the most acclaimed Taiwanese brands like Acer, ADATA, ASUS, AVerMedia, BenQ, D-Link, Gigabyte,InWin, MSI, TeamGroup, Thermaltake, Silicon Power, Transcend, Zadak and Zyxel.

Since the past 7 years, Taiwan Excellence has been convening the TEGC tournament to provide an international level championship environment to Esports aficionados from across India. The tournament has also lent the gamers an opportunity to experience the best-in-class Taiwanese technology, and provided them with a pro level platform for grooming themselves and emerge as professional athletes. TEGC has also given top gamers the opportunity to compete at international level against the winners of TEGC from other countries.
