Tata Motors, India’s leading automotive manufacturer, today announced the launch of the Altroz Racer - the sporty avatar of the company’s premium hatchback. The performance aspect in the Altroz goes several notches higher with the introduction of the 1.2 L Turbo petrol engine. Elevated with the race car inspired exterior and interior look coupled with a power of 120 Ps @ 5500 rpm and torque of 170 Nm @ 1750 to 4000 rpm, this sporty evolution of the Altroz promises an experience of pure exhilaration with every drive.

Replete with features, the Racer will be the top of line version  of the Altroz with 360 degree camera, 26.03 cm infotainment touchscreen, ventilated seats and 6 airbags (standard in Racer). It is the only hatchback to offer a 6 speed manual gearbox that ensures peppy drivability in city traffic and on highways. With improved technology, features and class-leading safety in a hatchback, the Altroz Racer will be available in 3 variants (R1, R2 and R3) with a choice of three colours (Pure Grey, Atomic Orange, and Avenue White). Furthermore, beefing up the Altroz line up, Tata Motors has also introduced two new variants (XZ LUX and XZ+S LUX) and upgraded one variant (XZ+OS) in its Altroz range. These two new additional variants will be available in a choice of petrol manual, petrol DCA, diesel and CNG powertrains.

New Delhi, June 7, 2024: An OPPO India dipstick—conducted in May on Instagram, LinkedIn and X—found that 42% of 6000+ respondents need a water-resistant smartphone for monsoons, 30% want a waterproof device for beach or poolside use, 19% prefer drop-proof protection for clumsy moments, while 9% said they valued a scratch-proof toughened glass to brave coins and keys in their pockets and purses. To meet this articulated need, OPPO India will introduce the country’s first super-rugged monsoon-ready smartphone—the OPPO F27 Pro+ 5G—on June 13, 2024.

Monsoon-ready & waterproof with IP69, IP68 and IP66

The OPPO F27 Pro+ 5G boasts a waterproof screen and waterproofing on key openings, including a completely waterproof microphone, speaker openings, SIM card slot pinhole and USB port.

The microphone openings and earpiece speaker are protected by a waterproof, breathable film for audio permeability while keeping the water out, while its USB unit comprises a silicone sealing ring designed to ensure water-tightness.

Additionally, OPPO uses a new waterproof circuit design, so water jets cannot compromise the phone via any openings; this is a critical type of damage a monsoon downpour can cause to a device.

According to a 2021 Cashify report, water damage often impacts the smartphone motherboard, resulting in a need for replacement. An international survey, published by the Organisation of Consumers and Users (OCU) in 2018, found that 35% of users experienced some form of water damage within the first two years of smartphone use; the F27 Pro+ 5G was designed to address this issue.

Additionally, the F27 Pro+ 5G comes with an innovative feature designed to enhance usability; it supports accurate touch operation even with wet hands. Regardless of rainwater, vapour, or moisture on the screen, users can now slide and touch-operate their phone with “Splash Touch” accuracy.

Military Grade Durability

The OPPO F27 Pro+ 5G’s durability goes beyond dust and water resistance due to its damage-proof 360° Armour Body that shields from internal and external impacts. Each of the four corners connects the back cover with the body to minimise the risk of separation and distortion after drops. The front cover of the motherboard uses AM03—a high-strength, high-thermal conductivity aluminium alloy commonly used in high-performance computing environments—to protect critical components. Additionally, the interior is filled with cushioning materials, such as sponges, to enhance drop resistance and safeguard essential components during impacts.

The OPPO F27 Pro+ 5G is also subjected to stringent internal durability tests. Its charging interface is subjected to 20,000 plugs and unplugs, each phone button is pressed 2,00,000 times, while the product is tested against 42,000 micro-drops, as well as high-frequency drops from low heights.

The device has received the Swiss SGS Premium Performance 5 Stars Drop Resistance certification after passing multi-angle drop tests, extreme height shock resistance and extreme frequency shock resistance. Odyssey OLED Series: Visual Excellence With New Burn-In Prevention Features

The Odyssey OLED G6 is a 27” QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution monitor, supporting a 16:9 aspect ratio. Its 360Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms GtG response time make it easy for gamers to keep up with fast-moving gameplay.

The new Odyssey OLED model features Samsung OLED Safeguard+, a new proprietary burn-in protection technology. This technology is the first in the world to prevent burn-in by applying a pulsating heat pipe to the monitor. Additionally, the Dynamic Cooling System evaporates and condenses a coolant to diffuse heat five times more effectively than the older graphite sheet method, which prevents burn-in by reducing temperature at the core. The monitor also detects static images like logos and taskbars, automatically reducing their brightness to provide another means of burn-in prevention2.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) was thrilled to host the visit of Padma Shri Sharath Kamal, a celebrated Indian table tennis icon. Currently ranked world No. 34 in table tennis, Sharath Kamal is a Commonwealth Games gold medallist and the proud recipient of prestigious awards, including the Padma Shri, Khel Ratna, and Arjuna Award. His association with the Pro TT League in India and his connections with the Reliance family, who own the league, have solidified his status as a household name in Indian table tennis. He also competes in the French league and maintains significant ties with table tennis leagues globally.

During his visit, Sharath Kamal served as a great ambassador for the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), forging connections between the university and the sports industry. His involvement is expected to pave the way for the establishment of a high-performance center at the existing Marina facility and foster partnerships with corporates to benefit MAHE students through internships and job opportunities.

OPPO Releases 2023 Sustainability Report On The World Environment Day


Today, on World Environment Day, the leading global technology company OPPO releases its 2023 Sustainability Report. In its fourth annual report, the company reveals its progress and long-term plan towards sustainability. Electric Airport Taxis From Refex eVeelz Begin Operations At Bengaluru Airport


* The big step towards sustainability was taken on World Environment Day

A new fleet of electric vehicle (EV) Airport Taxis from Refex eVeelz by Refex Group’s Green Mobility vertical has been introduced at the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru today to mark the World Environment Day. The new EV fleet comprises 175 compact SUVs and comes in two colours – teal and pink.

Sharing more details about the sustainability initiatives, Hari Marar, Managing Director & CEO of Bangalore International Airport Ltd, said, “At BIAL, our commitment to environmental sustainability drives us to continually innovate. The introduction of the EV taxi fleet and the tree planting drive are significant strides towards reducing our carbon footprint and enhancing the green spaces within the airport.  As many as 100 trees have been planted in the campus showcasing our dedication to nurture and revitalise the surroundings and also create greener spaces.  With a strong focus on providing sustainable ecological solutions, these dual initiatives will positively contribute to the ecosystem and improve the overall experience for the passengers and the local community.”

Passengers can book the new EV Taxis, either at the airport taxi stands in both terminals or through the BLR Pulse mobile application.  While the teal-coloured SUVs echoes BLR Airport’s unwavering dedication to sustainability, the pink ones are for female passengers, also operated by female drivers. As an enhanced safety measure, each female passenger is provided with a ‘Pink Card’ with contact numbers of duty manager, local police and ambulance services.

Speaking on the occasion, Anil Jain, Managing Director, Refex Group said, “Refex’s Green Mobility vertical is on a mission to provide reliable, safe and cleaner options of commute through Refex eVeelz. In celebration of World Environment Day, Coca-Cola India today launched #BenchPeBaat, a campaign aimed at reviving the spirit of true connections and conversations among people. This is a celebration of Coca-Cola India’s commitment to creating a World Without Waste through a circular economy and fostering meaningful interactions in communities across India. Coca-Cola India through its foundation, Anandana, in partnership with United Way Mumbai has installed 380 sustainable benches in 10 cities in India. These repurposed benches, crafted from recycled plastic waste collected during the ICC World Cup 2023, aim to make a refreshing difference, one conversation at a time.

Each bench is created from approx. 50 Kgs of recycled plastic waste. These eco-friendly benches have been installed in schools, colleges, public parks, and municipal corporation offices across 10 cities in India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Dharamshala, and Lucknow.

Celebration of World Environment Day 2024 At Manipal Academy of Higher Education


Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence, deemed to be university, one of India’s leading research-focused educational institutions, celebrated World Environment Day 2024 at their campus in Manipal, on 5th June 2024. With several dignitaries present, the event began at 9:00 AM and was flagged off by Dr. HS Ballal, Pro Chancellor, MAHE. Among those present were Dr. Giridhar P Kini, Registrar, MAHE, Dr. Raviraja NS, Director-Planning and Monitoring, MAHE and Cdr (Dr.) Anil Rana, Director, MIT. 

At 9:50 AM, the Institution Heads and Leadership Team planted saplings to set the event in motion. The dignitaries were called to the dais, followed by an invocation performed by the students at Mukunda Kripa School in honour of the celebration. Cdr (Dr.) Anil Rana gave a welcome address, following which students Ms Shivani R and Mas Tanvi delivered talks on Environment Day in English and Kannada, respectively. 

Addressing the audience, Dr. H S Ballal said, “It is of the utmost importance that we attempt to work with, rather than against mother nature. Development can only be ideal in achievement if the needs of future generations are also kept in mind. We must stay away from selfish, harmful practises of production and work towards a future where humanity and environment perfectly co-exist.”

Providing a message on Environment Day, Dr. Giridhar P Kini said, “World Environment Day is a call to remember the importance of the flora and fauna that belong to the planet, just as much as we do. It is our duty to work throughout the year, to empower those who cannot empower themselves, which includes plants and animals. This World Environment Day, let us vow to be responsible for a positive change.” He also explained the Sustainable Development Goals and activities of MAHE towards this effect.

Speaking about the importance of Environment Day, Dr. Raviraja NS said, “True environmental revolution can be achieved if we come together and work towards helping our planet develop. By simple steps like keeping our surroundings clean and spreading awareness about the importance of environmental preservation, we all can do our bit for land restoration and to protect our land from desertification and draught. Let us make a resolution to preserve our planet for the future generations.”

Concluding the ceremony with national anthem, Mr Balakrishna Prabhu, Estate Officer, MAHE extended a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, college faculties, students, and everyone else gathered.        

16 Aakash Educational Services Students Become Highest NEET Scorers, Achieve 720/720 And Secure AIR 01

A whopping 16 Students of Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), the undisputed national leader in test preparation services, have created history by securing rank AIR 01 in NEET UG examination 2024 by scoring 720/720 each. Out of these 16, 14 are Classroom Students and two are from Aakash’s Distance Learning Programme (DLP). The results were announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The students were enrolled in AESL's classroom program to prepare for NEET, widely regarded as one of the toughest entrance exams globally. They attribute their remarkable success to their rigorous understanding of concepts and strict adherence to a disciplined study schedule. "We are grateful that Aakash has helped us with both. But for the content and coaching from AESL, we would not have grasped many concepts in different subjects in a short period of time," the students expressed.
