Hunt for India’s Most Innovative Minds Contest Is On




Accenture, in partnership with Yahoo India, opened registration for the third season of Innovation Jockeys: The Hunt for India’s most Innovative Minds.  Undergraduate, graduate and post graduate students across India are welcome to submit innovative ideas for using technology to transform India.
This year’s contest, which will focus on disruptive technology innovations related to the themes Internet of Things and Digital Government, aims to discover bright, young, home-grown innovators – and encourage them to take responsibility for driving significant change.
“We’re looking for India’s next generation of innovators – young people with drive, passion and creativity who will make a difference in the way businesses and society function,” said Sanjeev Vohra, Managing Director, Technology Platforms, Accenture India. “In the previous two seasons, the program drew a record 5,900 idea submissions from over 520 campuses and more than 70,000 newsletter sign-ups from students at 1,000 colleges across India. This year we are expecting even more students to come forward and showcase their solutions.”
This year’s contest winners will be selected by an renowned jury, including: Kiran Karnik, member, National Innovation Council of India; Dr. Raja Krishnamurthy, R&D Head, 3M India region; Deepak Ajwani, Deputy Editor and Editor - Online, Forbes India; Lakshmi Pratury, Host, INK Conferences; Arvind Sanjeev, Founder and Chief Innovator, ARS Devices and winner in Innovation Jockeys Season 1; Dr. B.S Satyanarayana, Principal, RV College of Engineering; Hari Vausdev, VP & Head, Yahoo India R&D; and Sanjeev Vohra, Managing Director, Technology Platforms, Accenture in India.

“With its reach across 1000 campuses, this contest serves as a catalyst for innovation in India. In the last two years we have seen bright, young minds generate ideas that can potentially solve real-world problems in India. We are happy to support Accenture for fostering this kind of innovation and look forward to even more exciting possibilities in this year’s contest,” said Hari Vasudev, VP & Head Yahoo India R&D.

Each member of the winning team will receive a trip to Accenture Technology Labs, China, Apple products and an accelerated interview process at Accenture.  Winning entries for each category will also receive Apple products, Google Nexus tablets and an accelerated interview process at Accenture. The winner of “Yahoo Digital Innovation Jockey” will receive an iPad mini, and the winner of Jury’s choice category will get a certificate and an accelerated interview process at Accenture, as well as an iPad Mini.
